I just love when you show the gear-nerd side of this channel. And you have taste in gear that looks nice, protects, and does not look like a Power Rangers suit (and most important, you use the gear you show on camera).
Great jackets. I actually showed your videos (this and the one with the Dax 125) to my kids: "And this is proper english, kids." So beside the fact that I can´t get that very cool Blackbird Blackhawk Jacket anywhere here in Germany or elsewhere it´s a delight to listen to you. Now, got a "few minutes" left so I´m going to watch your Yorkshire Road Trip next. I guess when I´m done with that you finally got your own TV-Show ... I hope the BBC is reading this. 🙂 Great job, Mr. Dobbs.
Hey! Stumbled across your channel- I ride at the moment, a 50cc Vespa, but loving your channel, content and style- you are a natural presenter- keep up the good work!
Morning Freddie,Monica. Question for you……. What’s the quietest helmet you’ve experienced? I have Shoei helmets. Some are good some are really noisy, ear plugs needed ! By the way I’m not talking about open helmets. I only use full face or flip up. Really enjoy your blog.
Freddie I love the gear you wear and would like to get some. The thing that I always worry about when riding is being seen. I wear a high visibility jacket and helmet. My Harley friends tease me. But I have 2 young daughters for which I need to be around. So I’d like to find some stuff that is functional throughout the day when I’m not riding and also make it so drivers can see me.
Loving your recommendations and videos sir, I go straight to ebay to see what I can find. To be fair what I wear when I'm on my bike all the time comes in at under £200 including boots and helmet. I think I'm the northern version of you lol different worlds but same passion for bikes. Ride safe.
Thanks for your reviews! It's very hard to find women's riding gear, but your information is helpful and most of the brands you mention have similar options for women. Also, I'm in Australia and can confirm that yes, Australian sizes run larger that US or EU sizes.
Loving the channel - I hope it goes from strength to strength! Unfortunately I think I’m going to have to unsubscribe!! I’m 6’1 and ride a T100 with some retro mods and since discovering your channel approximately 1 month ago I have ordered 2 pairs of jeans and a pair of boots and now I’m looking at rev it riding shirts 🤨 oh and I ordered a pair of persol sunglasses!!! Stop showing things I bloody like! 🙄🙄
Thanks Freddie, I find the gear videos pretty useful. I'm a UK expat living in San Diego CA and there's not as much choice here for casual riding gear, so your vlogs on what is available is really helpful. Based on your riding Jean's vlog from a few weeks back I ordered a pair of Hood SK11's. They only arrived yesterday, 6 days after placing the order, so I haven't worn them yet but they look great and fit well. Very happy to see a British company doing well and producing such a good quality product. Keep up the great work and the high quality output both of you. P.S. loved the Isle of Wight vid!
Thanks so much! I’m delighted you find the gear videos useful🙂 I was really surprised by the IOW- much nicer than I thought it’d be! Enjoy California with the Hood Jeans- so good to hear they get across the pond to the US!!😀
Fellow UK expat in San Diego here! I bought the Broger Florida Jacket on Spanish Amazon. They don’t ship to America, but where there’s a will there’s a way! Great jacket that can be worn on or off the bike 🏍
Have you tried out any of the budget brands? Just took delivery of the Texpeed shirt at £69.99. Level 1 elbow, shoulder and back armour with Kevlar lining. Solid as a rock, but, in my opinion, more of a jacket than a shirt....quite heavy! The Texpeed stuff, in general, appears to be excellent value!
Watch out for zips and buttons at the base of the jacket that may scratch paintwork on a tank. All your jackets looked as if they had the zips covered so are safe. I bought a summer jacket from Motolegends in good faith after watching their video: A Furygan Kenya Evo jacket in green and realised too late the bottom of the zip scratched my tank. All i can do is fold the hem over so the zip is covered. Otherwise @ £155 its a nice jacket. Motolegends weren’t interested in my feedback. Cheers (UK).
Just watched this again. Like last time, it's the Broga I like. Very cool jacket. By the way, it was only the first three videos, I hadn't seen. Just watched them. Nick J
Thanks Jordan, the Broger's a size L (I'm 6'1 and 80kg) and it's a very good fit. The only jacket in this vid that's not an L is the green Blackbird one🙂
what are your chest measurements and shoulder measurements? I was thinking of buying the tobacoo california riding shirt and get a large but i have a 42" chest and 191/2 " shoulders and i like to layer so i was on the fence with a large or xl
Great stuff Fredster. I bought the district shirt a few weeks ago on the back of your recommendation. Super quality to price ratio and I’m loving the magnets on the collars ps I don’t wash my motorcycle jackets. I’m a tough grebo biker 😉
Loving your video’s is there any chance you could do a review of the Triumph King and Queen seat as I’m trying to convince my wife to join me on the bike. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Good idea on the K&Q seat! I do a kind of mini review of it on my “Lunch at a 16th Century Pub” video (if I remember correctly!). It is a game changing seat and the only seat Monika will happily join me on! It’s as comfy as a Harley Softail👌🏻👌🏻 If you couple it with a back rest, that add’s another huge element of comfort too🙂
To be honest, you can’t beat the protection of proper leathers, there is nothing better. I have the RST full kit and if I was gonna come off I wouldn’t want to be in anything else, but, it’s incredibly restrictive and quite uncomfortable; sometimes, it’s anxiety inducing when it’s a hot day etc. If I want to go for a ride and chill it’s not what I want to wear at all.. I must look into some of these other clothing options and maybe get another bike that’s a bit more relaxed than my current one (ZZR1100). Cheers
It’s a very good point you make and I agree- I feel the most safe in full leathers and proper race-style boots. But on balance i’ll trade a bit of safety for the ease of use of lifestyle gear. Wow- you own a serious beast of a bike!💪🏼💪🏼
@@FreddieDobbs ‘Tis a beast. When I give it some beans it feels like I’m on the millennium falcon, bloody ridiculous. I’ll never get rid of it. I just want something else that I can chill on, maybe a bobber or even a Africa twin.. Enjoying the channel, it’s different and refreshing! Keep it up.
One point I'd make is that you are very fortunate to be able to afford so many different boots and jackets, jeans ect, the simple fact is that a large amount of people can only afford to get one set of motorcycle gear, maybe a couple of gloves ect, but whilst your videos are great, I just want to highlight that point 👍🏻
Thanks Kevin and you’re absolutely right🙂 These bits of gear were all from photoshoots from brands I’ve worked with in the past- I’ve been very lucky to not have to buy them.
Sorry Freddie just must comment again. Sending this to my daughter as we both took my grandson to the local J & S to buy him a jacket he of cause didn't want what grandad wears but instead he chose a Hoodie. After telling him that was not what he should wear we knew he wasn't listening so we brought it for him. But when I was holding it I could see it had full armour and was quite heavy. Its taken my daughter a few days to get around to liking it but as I said better a jacket he likes to wear rather than one he rides off down the road wearing and when out of sight straps it on the bike. I said in another video that I love your idea of protective casual motorcycle gear. In fact I now love riding my bike in protective jeans and brown motorcycle boots. The days off walking around in full leather gear are definitely over for me. As for the comment on the I.O.W video they clearly haven't watched part two in which you describe the gear you are wearing. I liked your Revit jacket but sadly when I looked they don't do it in Fat Boy 😂🤣 sizes. Best wishes to Monica. Ted
Hi Ted! I do love a good trip to J&S!🙂👌🏻 And I hope you found some interesting content in this vide. Also delighted that you’re enjoying riding jeans and boots!😀
Another cool review vid, you were right about the falcon boots chief, comfortable straight from the box. Next request, cargo jeans? Do you or can you recommend any..the Broger ones look cool. 👍
Send me one you don't want Freddie, I've lost 23kilos over winter, all my bike gear is dropping off me😢, 5 11, 87kilos . All seriousness, very handy video as I'm looking for a summer jacket 👌
Another gear video! Would love to see a video with your waterproof gear. Those are the ones that are the most difficult to look and feel good. I have an added challenge here in Tropical Singapore - the gear has to be comfortable in the humid sun and keep me dry in the rains. After a fair amount of research, I ended up getting the Rokker Revolution Jacket which has been serving me well for almost two years now. I was just caught in a heavy metal rain last night and my t-shirt was bone dry albeit a little wet around the neck area from the sudden downpour cause I had the first two buttons undone. I love the idea of these jackets because I wouldn’t have to carry extra rain gear and then cover up my outfit. Not to mention, you’d still look good off the bike - no one till today knows that I’m wearing motorcycle gear. As of now, I’m looking for waterproof gear that has an added level of breathability like the unfortunately discontinued Belstaff Tourmaster Pro. That would have been a rather expensive but luxurious feature to have here in sunny Singapore. Cheers!
Hi Sharon, That's a very good idea for waterproof riding jackets- I'll do one of these videos soon!🙂 Also an interesting point about cooler waterproof jackets. The Blackbird one from this video is in theory waterproof, I just haven't taken it in heavy enough rain to tell you how waterproof it is, unfortunately!
Interesting ! good one Freddie my go to for most stuff is RST but I must admit it's normally for leather in the jacket department I am thinking of Scott for rain wear not that I'm out in the rain much but living here ya have to be prepared at all times : D. Good one guys as always : )
The only true summer jacket I can see here is the RST Kevlar Riding Shirt, all the rest is common all round jackets you can find from any brand. Sadly the max size they make is 3XL while I need 4XL! Summer, what temperatures are we talking about and what country? This is the question people never answer!
Hi , Freddie , may I ask is your wardrobe a walk in , or a drive through ? DO you remember that Monicka ? No long term effects , after hitting her on the head ? when the armour is designed for hitting Tarmac , which has no feelings . Yes we all make mistakes in life , mine using a damp towel as a bull whip to crack as my daughter ran passed , ice cream in hand , saying you can not catch me , flicked the towel ,it went around her leg , one sobbing child face down and ice cream in the gravel . I felt a right bar , steward . 25 years on she is still talking to me . A great review of clothing , built for style and protection . Ride and stay safe , both of you .
I’ve got a few bits of gear I like your taste I use similar gear for me it must offer a decent level of protection must be look the business you would probably like the KNOX ZEPHYR SUMMER RIDING JACKET check it they also a ladies version that’s also a cool look nice choice of gear Cheers...!!!
Dobbso old bean, just a mention, for nice days if youve got a motocross body armour ..torso and arms.. about 40 quid, you can wear a Levi jacket (or any jacket you want, but it needs to be oversize) over it. Do the buttons up and there you are ready to fall off your steed in safest style. And entering the local boozer looking built like Arnold Swarzenburger... a Vin Vin situation ja? I do it here in Italy, but then its sunny most days, and never rains...sorry old bean!
Hi Freddie. Loving the videos of the Triumph reviews and also the motorcycle clothing. The casual look is definitely my favourite and has become my default riding gear. I was wondering whether you have knee and hip armour inserts in your jeans or do you just rely on the Kevlar for protection? If you do have armour, which brand/type do you have as it seems on all your videos that the jeans are very slim fitting. Cheers
Thanks very much! I only wear the armour when on spirited rides with friends. The rest of the time on chilled out rides, I keep it out:). The slimmest armour, and my favourite is the D30 Ghost armour. 👌👌
Freddie, where do you buy this kit from interested to know where you recommend I got full leathers, but iam like you regards casual clothing approach mesh Jackets and ugly Bros Kevlar pants...let me know best regards catch u soon 😄😄😄👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thanks....... Also Goldtop are opening what I believe is their first shop just down the road from me in stansted mountfitchet at the end of the month. ( including a coffee shop 😀) I really like their stuff.
It took me so long to find a good fitting white tee that doesn’t shrink and lose shape after one wash! UNIQLO!🖤👌🏻. They do (in my eyes) the best white tees, and they’re inly £10! I have five of them👌🏻
About the 'Florida Jacket'.....this the 'Alaska Jacket' 🤣🤣🤣 Very nice jacket but it doesn't look like anything to do with Florida. Maybe Detroit would be a better name
Hi Freddie is it coincidental that since you discovered you have a vlog groupie you do a clothing vid and seem to be wiggling your arse a bit to the camera. I'm sure Monica will wil have noticed this change in your behaviour 😂😂

Is the blackhawk jacket still available to buy? I cant see it anywhere online. Loved the look of it.
Knox Urbane Pro is a good option for the heat as well. Especially in Texas. Love your content. Thanks for giving us some options!

Love the Blackhawk jacket, cant find it for sale anywhere in the UK

Thanks....... Also Goldtop are opening what I believe is their first shop just down the road from me in stansted mountfitchet at the end of the month. ( including a coffee shop 😀) I really like their stuff.
I just discovered your channel and it's great :) are you able to put timestamps in the description or on the video?
Ahh i didn’t know about this- i’ll try and add these! Thanks for the support🙂🤜🏼🤛🏼
where do you get your white t-shirts from...?
It took me so long to find a good fitting white tee that doesn’t shrink and lose shape after one wash! UNIQLO!🖤👌🏻. They do (in my eyes) the best white tees, and they’re inly £10! I have five of them👌🏻
@@FreddieDobbs thanks for the tip, I'll try it out. Weekend's white tees have been my go-to this far. Loving the channel by the way!
Geez…. How many bloody jackets you need🤣 ? I have one and I’ve had it for 23 years.
Until 16 months ago I had the same single jacket for ten years (I still have it🙂), but I am a bit spoilt for choice now I know!😆
Broger is definitely interesting, too bad they never have stock
It's a very cool company...but it can be very tough catching the stock! Good luck!🙂
I like this channel. You have so many jackets that do the same job. Why do you need so many? Some nice kit, though. I'd have the Polish one. Nick J
I’m lucky enough to be able to keep them after photography projects🙂👌🏻
@@FreddieDobbs I get you. You'd have had a bill otherwise. Great channel.
What size is your Broger jacket? You didn't mention in the video
Please introduce your leather jacket. Thank you! From JAPAN
"They are my eight favorites" Eight!! 🤣🤣 How many do you have?
About 12 I think, although I am downsizing the collection a bit!
know why i hit the like button? so you can make some money and get a camera and mike. I love my Rokker jeans on my r ninet
Theres no such thing as 26c degree heat lol. Where im at theres 30-35c degree heat😂😂
About the 'Florida Jacket'.....this the 'Alaska Jacket' 🤣🤣🤣 Very nice jacket but it doesn't look like anything to do with Florida. Maybe Detroit would be a better name
🤣
Now do this again in your biker greaser jacket with Levi jeans and show full front and back, but whisper “Samantha” seductively.
#SayHerName
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi Freddie is it coincidental that since you discovered you have a vlog groupie you do a clothing vid and seem to be wiggling your arse a bit to the camera.
I'm sure Monica will wil have noticed this change in your behaviour 😂😂
I did get a telling off and grounding from Monika!🤣🤣
You said _touring around Europe; Not possible the bugs on the road would damage your fancy clothe, Stick to going to the pub
Whilst this stuff is nice, it is expensive and I wouldn't trust any of it in a crash.
riding gear is all a scam
