I have been gaming for 40+ yrs now, and over those yrs I have played countless games on just about every console made. RDR2 is by far the most immersive game I've ever played. When I play it I actually feel like I have stepped into the world, no other game has ever made me feel that immersed. I can spend hour after hour just free roaming the world. Im on my 5th playthrough right now. This game truly is a masterpiece. I also give GTA5 a lot of credit, that game is so much fun. Rockstar are masters at story telling, and are my favorite gaming company. If its a rockstar game you know its gonna be good.

I rode and broke horses all through my teens and twenties, and they're the main reason I started playing, as I'm too poor and beat up to ride IRL anymore, and the RDR2 horses are the best in any game I've ever played; the AI is so amazing! The fact that so many of us were fooled into thinking there must be a hidden 'bravery' stat, when no such thing exists is testament to that! In so many games, horses are just like cars; you get in/on, steer them where you want to go, get off, but RDR2 horses feel SO real, they have real characters! But I stayed for the quality of the story telling and the writing. I've been a gamer since the 1980s, and this is THE best game of all time, IMHO. It's not perfect, but the characters are so well drawn and deep, and the storyline is so immersive, I've never had a game affect me so much, I cried like a baby at the end. I fear that with the further rise of live service and microtransactions etc, that there'll never be another game like it. I hope I'm wrong.
there is 2 moments,1 is almost make me cried and 1 other is succsesfully make me cried. the first one is when arthur teling to The Sister at Emerald Station after escorting captain monroe when he said "i guess......Iam afraid".I mean cmon look at arthurs eyes he genuanly scared when he said that. and the second one that make me cried was when arthur said "Get the hell outa here and be a goddamn men" to john TBH i rarely cried when playing story based video games but this one alongside God Of War and Beyond Two Souls was one of wich that make me feel the Character and the emotion.
I like the fact it just brought me kind of closer to the people who lived in this country during the days of the wild West. Makes you really appreciate the people who came before us in this great country. Man they had it rough.

Gta 5 was a LA reality show about criminals, 3/4 was a dark city crime drama (from two different eras), SA was a(n LA) gangster flick, VC was 80s Miami... vice... and of course the red deads being different styles of westerns. They are amazing at making long, playable, experiencable movies, in a way.
I actually had a funny glitch happen during an epilogue cutscene, it was that first transition to John, and his family on a stolen horse cart, in one of the landscape shots a deer was supposed to cross a stream near pronghorn ranch, and instead it was spazzing and glitching out like crazy in the water, and it totally killed the immersion of that transition shot. It was hilarious but it also ruined it.
So absolute shot we got confirmed “where’s Michael” Easter egg in RDR2 before GTA VI.. my 1st personal GTA VI quest is going to be find all the boys from GTA VI.. I’m willing to bet they have cameos already in place.

I know ppl are upset with a lot of mistakes rockstar have made recently or just the constant micros transactions but I have to agree with Ned the fact these guys wrote both these game is absolutely outstanding and they deserve so much credit. It’s so cool hearing a big star saying he called them up to see if he could do some stuff in the game , that’s brilliant.
I prefer Red Dead just because I adore that era and lore and I prefer the slower pacing. It's not for everybody, but it's right up my alley. It's like my comfort game. I still love GTA 4 for it's more grounded and serious tone. I hated that fans criticized it so much, because I knew that meant rockstar would change a lot of things that I loved about the game.
I hope, when and if, we get RDR3 a decade or so from now, it'll be the gang befpre the events of RDR2. I don't wanna go further into future, I wanna go back and see the early events of the gang.

The side by sides of RDR2 and GTA5 are crazy. The level of detail in the textures and player models in RDR2 just look waaaay better
