2 Beep CMOS Error - Lenovo Thinkcentre E73 - Car Boot Sale Testing

- I got this computer from a car boot sale here in the UK. When I tested this computer I found it showing no display and beeping twice. I really don't know much about computers but upon reflection now, I think it was just that the display was showing through the graphics card.

Eventhough this is an old video, this helped me fix my own thingcentre m92. Thanks a lot man :)
Thanks for the love 😊
Thanks so much for sharing. I fixed my (similar) model desktop, by following what you did.
I recently bought a MB with CPU and most parts without a case. I installed in a IBM Thinkcentre case and the same Dbl beep. Repeat the same Procedure and Bingo! It works!!!
Your search is appreciated my friend!!
You got me headed in the right direction... thanks for your video
Hey Hamed, Found your channel from Gary's comment section, Looks like you've done such a great work solving people's problem from this video, Wishing you all the best in your future electrical stuff
Thank you ♥️
Great and thank you so much😊 It help to resolve my problem (2 beeps with no display)
Thank you so much, fixed a problem here with this tip!
When do you put the graphic card back in
Bonjour, a 4:35 j'ai le même problème que vous 2bips sourd... C'est du a quoi ?
I followed your method and it worked it was a cmos error thank you very much
Glad it worked!
Thanks man !! You solved my problem too !!
No problem 😊
Hey man, I found one of these outside and took it in. It seems to work fine despite the 2 beeps, but once in a while it'll freeze up and the display would go weird, but the boot up session is fine and the OS comes up quite quickly after I turn it off and back on again. Any idea what the problem could be?
lol you found one? nice! It seems its a graphics card issue? Does yours have a graphics card in? If not, perhaps try installing one?
I bought this computer for £20 at a car bootsale. I did a video on it here: ruclips.net/video/BEfYK22hoGE/видео.html
Removing graphics cards works for me, thanks man!
You're welcome. Glad I could help with this crappy video 🤣
Waiting until tomorrow to get my VGA cable, hopefully this works !🤞
I had a ThinkCentre Edge 72 that was doing the same thing. Turns out it was one of the RAM cards and the video card was fine.
CLR CMOS, has worked for me 😁😁😁
Thank you soo much
Haven't watched the full vid yet so sorry if I'm commenting too soon. I turned mine on today and got that exact 2 beeps but it starts up and I'm at my desktop just fine. This is the first time I've noticed the 2 beeps what does it indicate?
The fact that it started up is strange, usually it's a CMOS error or graphics card issue. So clearing the battery or removing GPU usually does the trick. I'd leave it as is if you're in the desktop.
@@HamedAdefuwa I was thinking, I just got a new 4k tv and have it hooked up with a vga to hdmi adapter. The first day I had hooked it up I switched to a resolution that wasn't supported but was able to get it back to 1080p which is where I'm gonna leave it. Could the switch to the unsupported resolution trigger the beeps?
Edit: my pc only has integrated graphics (Intel HD 4600) so I can't take out my gpu
@@jm.Beats. dude idk if you are still out there, but I have this EXACT situation. Vga to hdmi with intel graphics so no gpu to take out
@@MrSquirrel1693did you solve?
@raevod6361 i cant remember much lol. But I know the adapter I had was wrong. It was VGA to HDMI so it only works one way or something. The beeping on the motherboard I can remember if I fixed it or if I just got a different motherboard.
I get two or three short beeps but it's through the speakers whilst running the os (usually within brave browser or on the w10 desktop, I think it's a gfx driver issue)
you went to visit device manager, if its a driver issue?
@@gamingstuffbyroni2456 There were no driver issues showing, or anything in need of an update. Having said that, it's now a ten year old laptop using win 10 as an OS (it came with 8.0). I think the beeping was directly from the motherboard. At the time I assumed a failing component or outdated graphics drivers in combo with an OS it wasn't designed for, as some of the beeping came with a half second freeze on screen. I haven't had any random beeping or freezing for months, so I can only assume an OS update fixed it. I will be replacing the laptop soon. thanks
Ye I have the same problem but nothing worked for me.
Wow thanks man, I had the same issue but now thanks to you solved!
You're most welcome :)
i don't know but i just got this similar error but after i restarted it worked normally except i get 1 short beep but it's still working with no errors. I don't know should i be worried or not. (it was 15 mins away since i posted this comment
It also showed the display on my screen.
fyi sir. you put ur vga cable into ur motherboard vga port instead unto the gpu. thats why ur getting that 2 short beep xD
Plug the display to the graphics card!
Hamed 4:33 that double beeping is my problem on my idea centre how do I fix it
I'm having the same issue but in my case I don't have any graphic cards installed at my PC. Do u think I should buy one?
I'd guess so yh, some people have said adding a graphics card solved the problem, others said removing it solved theirs. I'd say get the cheapest compatible one you can.
@@HamedAdefuwa I appreciate that insight of urs.
You're welcome
