It's a normally closed signal we use to send back into the system, so in my case I've got it wired into input 1 of my PLC, that's the signal my PLC is reacting to when I press the estop. My bad I should have mentioned this in the video. I missed out a fair bit actually lol

@HamedAdefuwa so if I have a signal in my plc from auxiliary contacts, it means that the safety relay is either turned off or faulty? But how can I differentiate between these two situations?

I guess you can't with this simple safety relay without also sending one of the NO contacts into another input and watching them change over. Which I have done before. Under normal operations, the safety relay is active, meaning the NC contact is open. In this state the PLC receives no signal from the NC contact, indicating the system is healthy. Feels backwards I know lol but it works.

They're in parallel for safety or redundancy. When the status is OK, 41/42 is open. If there is a fault, 41/42 is supposed to close. If for example K1 41/42 fails to close, you have K2 41/42 as a backup. For the same reason the NO contacts are in series. If K1 13/14 fails to open (contacts fused together), you have K2 13/14 as a backup.

Inductance comes from magnetic fields generated when current flows; longer wires create larger magnetic fields and more inductance. Thick wires matter because they have lower electrical resistance. Lower resistance reduces energy loss and minimizes voltage drop, which helps maintain accurate current measurements when using a shunt. Thick wires also spread the current over a larger area, reducing the magnetic field strength and thus lowering inductance.

@HamedAdefuwa Well If Not on the datasheet on then on their application notes for example microchip or stm microcontroller or some plc manufacturers website. Almost every arduino plc source code is open. That is why peoples are not interested on this type of contents In youtube.

What part did you miss about this not being for other people? I do videos on what I'm working on for myself. To concrete ideas and to document my journey so when I'm 70 I can look back and laugh. If anyone else wants to follow along and laugh or learn something, great. As for people like you, I hope you hit your daily quota of criticism. ♥️

@@simonprice-hn3sx I've been using the IDE, it's alright. I've definitely got codesys on my radar so can't wait to give that a go.

This could be due to a potential conflict between Arduino and Finder. Since Arduino plc ide is bugy and I think it is unfixable. So Finder took the decision to go with Codesys to save its image.

Oh wow that's interesting. I wouldn't have thought anyone would consider finders image related to the IDE, I automatically assumed it was all Arduinos fault and Finder just did the hardware side of it all.

​@@HamedAdefuwaImagine yourself as a CEO of a company known for its quality products in the industry and found its name on a product that can't meet its quality standard. And the worst of all the cause of the problem is not your fault. It is a good respectful decision by Finder and it indicates their focus on the customer experience and the flexibility in the company management.

I agree with you so far, I've got a decent video coming out tomorrow night where I drive all its IO and I'm enjoying it a lot more. I'd love to try use it on a real system to be honest. @Roninga6 Yo I had this problem too and then I realised my 74HC595 Shift Register was on the wrong way the end with the semi circle should be facing towards the LEDS and this fixed it for me. Good luck!!
