These are some of the greatest beginner type videos. I don’t mean you’re a beginner or your videos are beginner. They’re super high-quality well done great pacing. They really make a beginner feel like they can achieve your success. Super easy to follow, and all your techniques don’t require $1000 trip to bass pro shop. Except for maybe your penchant for really expensive reels🤣
I used this at Orange Beach this past weekend. I was a bit reluctant but I had one of my three rods not getting any action at all. I tied this on and POW!!! Thanks for the idea Skipper.
Went fishing 3 days in a row with my kids, and each day with more success then the last.. by soaking up alot of knowledge from you its crazy went from nothing one day, to bait fish the next, then a rock fish on the last day, just by improving my rigs and tying the right knots! Its been epic! 🎉 haven’t caught no monsters yet or big fishes like you but just growing as a dad and a skipper, learning patience and having fun!! Huge fan within the very little time ive been watching you! Please give us more pointers and wisdom! Much love from the Phats!!
I'm so thankful that I found your channel. My wife and I live in Spring Hill and she loved going fishing with me for the first time after your videos got me interested in fishing again. We didn't catch anything, but she loved it anyway. I'll definitely be trying to set us up with some of these rigs next time. Thank you so much!!!
This actually works better if you still mixed size holes, and use a snap swivel on top only instead of the line running through it, that’s a good way to Frey and damage the line leading to the sinker.
I'm getting back into shoreline fishing. This seems viable as a chum rig with baited hook. The float rig mentioned sounds interesting...just let it drift. Additionally some have pointed out using this as a "spot" chum set up to attract feeders / predators and then jig in the vicinity. This "spot chum" could also be used close to shore to attract live bait that you'd catch with a bamboo pole or like for live bait casting. Will keep you posted on efforts. Thank you for your entertaining and informative videos...well done!🤙
I wish we could post pictures on the comments. My hubby and I tried this out and we didn't get any fishes but we did get some bites! He's a big fan and loves your videos! Pls go live when you come to the Sebastian inlet again we live right by the inlet so maybe he can meet you guys one day!
This looks pretty cool, for fishing rips/tidal rivers for fluke, etc.where crabs also like to congregate and rip off cut bait or whatever. Could serve as a decoy for them as well as a mini chum pot for fluke.
You could put it above your hook/weights so you can retrieve the plastic on a break off; maybe 4-6” above the hook? Chum usually flows down anyway so it would bring them straight to your hook
I've been using a version of this and it seems to help. I'm going to add the beads to my set-up. One thing I've learned is to not pack the chum in tight because you want some water movement in and out of the container to get the scent out. Thanks for the beads tip!
also the beads make a clicking sound that imitates the sound a prawn does that attracts fish great rig Have you ever made large ones out of PVC pipe using aerosol lids as cups top and bottom with two hooks or even three above for rock fishing acts as a bait bomb attacks huge fish but i use 80lb pandora braid caught trevally king fish snapper but for big rods big casts is heavy but trust me great even for beach fishing
I can't wait to try this summer of 2020. Fishing Maryland, Delaware and VA . Mind you, of all the fish in the Ocean and Bays , white perch is one of my favorite to eat.
I made this rig and I changed it a bit. Instead of rigging to a fishing pole I just stringed it up and threw it from the shore. The rig remain at the bottom and we just fished around area we baited. We caught them like crazy. A few were small in size but a majority of the catch was big fish. I can't share my bait options but others can fix up their own.
Nice ideaI used to take sardines and hook them in the tail drop it down to the bottom and yank them off and then put my bait down but the bottle is a very cool idea I may try that thanks for the idea 👍
made holes in 4 of these in the time it took to drill your one bottle. I used a red hot needle that punched through like butter. Look forward to trying them out. Made a LARGE bottle one to tie off the side of a skiff. Either will work I am sure.
Awesome idea, this summer I’m going to try it with really heavy wire trace at Port Logan area of Scotland fishing for big tope from kayak, getting the chump to their mouth 😒👍🦈
I will definitely try this! You read my mind what I would thought about in the future but you made it present! Haha. Awesome dude. You are ahead of the game! Yayah
Or use a soldering tool , melts through that like butter. Oh there are the wood burning tool too that will give you some fancy design Wouldn’t that be something if a BIG fish come by and inhale the whole bottle 😂
Thanks for sharing this idea. Tryed this out on a friend's new boat . Didn't want to chum off the side of new boat so the pill bottle worked. 3 sharks with no mess on side of boat
I have been interested in making a rig like this it is similar to what they use in the U.K. know as feeder rigs, my only drawback I was thinking is when you cast it out you get the propeller action that reduces the distance . I purchased some Pennel Rig parts to make a splash down rig which keeps all the components compact when casting and when it hits the surf it releases giving you more distance and it also positions the sinker at the top when reeling in to prevent snags
My family and I live in Sacramento and fish our river and the ocean, which isn’t too far. We came across your channel and love the content. my boys are learning more and more about fishing and are enjoying. We always experiment with different rigs and tried the chum rig you demonstrated. Of all three rigs set up, the one with chum caught the first fish.
Great ideas, really like watching your channel. Thanks for the fun fishing trips. It’s great you have your dad along. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming.
What do you put in it for chum, AND please make video using it to show how it works and that it works? GREAT IDEA I'M EXCITED TO MAKE MY OWN AND TRY IT.
I made one with a prescription bottle just like that a few years back for catfishing. It was on the upper part of the rig though. (Texas rig style) How us fishermen think alike. Always trying to be innovative. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Great video!
I’ve been looking to another alternative to a chum ball that is wrapped with fishing line, thanks I will try it out and let you know what type of action I get!! 🎣💯
I am definitely building this rig. Only much larger for my shark set up. Putting some Super Shark Chum inside with a bunch of Fish Oil and baiting with a 4 inch chunk of ladyfish or branzino.
Wonder if you could use that same method for your cat food mix to catch your shrimp instead of just throwing it in! Might not dissolve as fast or run with current!
Hey skipper, thanks for a good DIY. i noticed you have sinker at the end. some say we should use the slider instead of sinker at the end due to heavy and fish will let go of the baits when bitting. Can you do a video on comparing the sinker at the end and sinker with a slider? thanks my man.
Have been thinking about trying this for catfish, putting liver bits in the bottle... But unless I had a giant bottle, theres no doubt the catfish will try to swallow the thing... lol, although i do still intend on trying this for saltwater, especially since i usually have an abundance pinfish from crabtraps during the summer.

Really? Does it work?
@@waydeyoung2748 yes sir. To be fair, I’ve used it since and got mixed results, but definitely worth a shot.
@@kevinthistlethwaite9449 thanks I’ll try it out this weekend
Have you been using it his past year? If so, what percentage of times would you say it has proven to be effective?
Went fishing 3 days in a row with my kids, and each day with more success then the last.. by soaking up alot of knowledge from you its crazy went from nothing one day, to bait fish the next, then a rock fish on the last day, just by improving my rigs and tying the right knots! Fantastic idea, the magic is keeping the chum off your face when casting the bait.
I'm proud you showed this, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it will work especially for catfish
That is brilliant. If you bring the bait ball to your bait, they’ll bring lots of attention. Then you’ll catch the big fish!
This actually works better if you still mixed size holes, and use a snap swivel on top only instead of the line running through it, that’s a good way to Frey and damage the line leading to the sinker.
Kudos for mention of the most versatile fishing not every: Improved Clinch Knot! The rest of the video is pretty awesome too!

should use it on your float rig: add the cage below the float instead of the bottom to allow the scent to go down with the bait
I loved this chum rig idea. I'm disabled so I'm limited to peirs and other places I can use my wheelchair. Can't wait to try this on a boat.
That would be a good addition to a sabiki rig.
Thats a nice idea
This looks pretty cool, for fishing rips/tidal rivers for fluke, etc.where crabs also like to congregate and rip off cut bait or whatever. Could serve as a decoy for them as well as a mini chum pot for fluke.
Hey Skipper, you've made it easy for me to learn how to fish indeed. Thank you!
You could put it above your hook/weights so you can retrieve the plastic on a break off; maybe 4-6” above the hook? Chum usually flows down anyway so it would bring them straight to your hook
If you want a stronger Knot where your swivel is try the Polamar knot my go to knot.

Does it catch fish?
This is probably the best video U made so far. Genius idea 💡
Asian style fishing is the best
also the beads make a clicking sound that imitates the sound a prawn does that attracts fish great rig

Great rig idea. Looks like a larger version of the coarse fishing 'Swim Feeder'. Thanks Skip'.
I love the chum bucket rig. I use it all the time I go out fishing

I like that idea! Don't even need a pole. Handline would work well. Cheap Cuban Yo-yo would be perfect !
I have used this rig for years only in reverse, With the bottle on top filled with Maggots and the hook with a minnow on the bottom
for Perch.
It works perfect 👌 I chum the bottle using 3 hooks on my main line works every time 🎣 Thankyou for the DIY 🍻
Nice ideaI used to take sardines and hook them in the tail drop it down to the bottom and yank them off and then put my bait down but the bottle is a very cool idea I may try that thanks for the idea 👍
Thanks for sharing this wonderful idea Skipper. I’ll certainly try this method on my next trip Onelove.
I think this is a BRILLIANT idea. Well done!!

I'm hooked again. I was so tired of breaking my line. Great video bro
I just tried this out worked like a charm. Used it to catch bait fish...
-thanks skipper

Very cool rig. I will definitely try this. I have so many ideas already. I hope you do a video on using this rig soon.
This is pretty good idea. I love surf fishing 🎣 I'm gonna have to give this a try next time I go to cherry grove

The Chum Rig Doe's Work and Attracts Lots of Fish yeah I have chum Rig As Well for fishing 🎣 🐟
Looks better than the Wish chum rig you've shown us and of course cheaper. Fun rainy day project
Wooow I love your videos because I’m learning how to fish 🐠
Similar to a drop shot, the hook bend should be facing up and not down. A downward hook will miss more bites.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
@Maddog worker not heavier than a current
I have been doing this for a long time. It works fine. And you can get the type of chum you want.
Hello Happy new year,I watched bottle line and I make one but I don't know how to send picture here, thanks to helping us learning about fishing,
I will definitely try to use that
Thanks for the idea 🐠
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching and be sure to share what you catch with us!
These would be awesome for trout lines thanks for the share bro this is ingenious
I always leave a little bit of mono/floro tag and melt/shape a nub at the end so it's even more difficult to pull through the knot
mix can sardines or anchovies with sand and a little bread and look out!!

It’s great you have your dad along.
Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming.
GREAT POINT!!! You know a man that fishes and honors his dad by bringing him along is a really good man! God bless him
Brandon, make another video with this rig with you fishing it. I want to see how it performs.

I'm using the same technique but use a small mesh bait bag.
Great idea for river fishing
Hi skipper I just saw your video it was great .I made one and I will let you know how it works when I get back from fishing tomorrow
What do you put in it for chum, AND please make video using it to show how it works and that it works?

You are so Helpful and Brilliant on fishing
I’ve been looking to another alternative to a chum ball that is wrapped with fishing line, thanks I will try it out and let you know what type of action I get!! 🎣💯
Wow skiper that is a great idea. I will try it here in Florida!
I’m gonna try this the next time. Also if you heat up the end of a nail you can poke the holes too
Feeeder rigs are why I catch big carp.
If you put a peg float on longer dropper loop, catfish. Basically santee copper rig
I am definitely building this rig. Only much larger for my shark set up. Putting some Super Shark Chum inside with a bunch of Fish Oil and baiting with a 4 inch chunk of ladyfish or branzino.
I love what you said about the plastic 👍🏽 and cool rig 👏🏼
Does it matter what way you point the hooks? I thought hooks are supposed to be facing upwards not down?
It is not dumb, it works!
Have you tested this ? I would love to see a video on you testing this setup !!!!!
Yes I have! It’s a video from like 2 years ago lol the rig is in the thumbnail! It’s called like strange rig catches fish or something.
you will see he lost his 🔔 in that vid.make sure to watch the vid it made me interested in making this soon
ruclips.net/video/1WiometOZkU/видео.html
We tried this today as an experiment along with three other rigs. It caught the most fish.
@@eulalioortega9360 what type of fish were caught using what bait?

love the lineup of antique spinning reels on the mantle. also, that chum bottle rig works great at the bottom of a sabiki rig.
what do you mean by the swivel snap being lighter than your line by the plastic cylinder so that hte sinker gets broken off not the plastic bottle?
Very Nice I will be trying this! Good job.
Awesome video bro....thanks for sharing
Dude I'll be trying this soon. Thank you soo much for all the detail to make this awesome!!!
Was it a success?
Would this work well for catching bait like mackerel scad on a sabiki rig? Fishing in Hawaii and looking at ways to catch opelu consistently
I think I am going to give this a try
Nicely done... Thanks skip.... 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching fauzi 👍🏼👍🏼 you out fishing this weekend?

Just made one myself. Can't wait to try it out.
Great idea! I can't wait to try it.
Hey skipper can I use a circle hook on my dropper rig? I like this idea and will try it soon
Just finished watching and pretty smart idea. Small and compact good to throw in the bag.
Super cool idea bro. Cant can't wait to try it myself.
Hey Slipper can you please make a new video using the improve rig🙏🏼👍🏼
cool idea , I'm gonna try it in bottom rig and under float .
Nice diy lure sir ill make it for mine thanks for sharing
Can’t fish at the beach anymore wife said I’m not aloud to wiggle my worm by ladys swimming.
