The comments. I guess there were rage 1 fans. One of my favourite games it's way better than the new one. The new one is too much like doom when it should have been its own thing. Still like it but it's nothing compared to the first one, shouldn't have put power ups in it. The colours they used are too much and there's too much fast paced gun play. The original had environments that were better and each had a different feel to it. The weapons were better in the first too. They should remaster the first one, I don't hate the new one but I've waited since the first for a sequel and it should have been a lot better.
I feel like people that like into more in depth combats rather than flashy over the top, comedic and arcadey fights are really falling short as of lately :( My favorite parts in Rage 1 where you had to go move from cover to cover in a firefight, being careful. Here it seems to be "Jump around like a maniac and throw around flashy special attacks" looks like the type of gameplay that is fun for a short while, then gets too boring after a bit.
Still have my launch copy of rage 1, along with 2 separate game informer magazines with a super early build of Rage. Prob 2007. Have to dig it out. The mathematical acumen that ID soft has especially then, especially the Mega Texture tech they used for Rage is what drew me to its world. Wonder if the Scorchers have evolved as well

Doom has a sniper rifle you soggy molding piece of toast. Its not even like there aren't long ranged weapons, there literally is the plasma rifle which is for killing enemies from a range
Agreed. While I still like RAGE 2, I liked the tone of the original a lot more. Even the A.I. in the original RAGE was more advanced and the gameplay was more complex. It also had its own identity which is what RAGE 2 severely lacks.
@@TheRealJochen Are you for real... That's pretty damn sad. The music was hardly intense. Especially not enough to keep me from playing the game. How can you even state that RAGE 2 is a good game when you haven't even fully played the original?
RAGE 2 is trash. The first RAGE was way better. I refunded RAGE 2 on Steam once I realized that it was just a DOOM clone with a post-apocalyptic skin. At least when the first RAGE came out, it was unique for the time. Fallout 4 hadn't been released yet and the first RAGE was something like a more action-packed Fallout. Enemies were unique and each faction was differentiated with unique tactics. Vehicles and gunplay were nice. I still play the first RAGE. oh and I can't stand the super power bullshit and futuristic weapons. This is supposed to be a post-apocalypse. In the first RAGE, you didn't get any super powers and the futuristic weapons didn't appear until the late-game. Which was fair because they were extremely over-powered.
@@TheRealJochen I have. Like I stated, I refunded it. It detracted too much from the original RAGE. No more unique factions. Vehicle mechanics always sucked so that didn't change much. No more post-apocalyptic feel. Everything is a futuristic gun now. Your character has super-powers now for whatever reason. Scavenging has been completely dumbed down. The writing was never RAGE's strongpoint, but now any sort of writing has completely gone downhill. It just sucked. Much prefer the first RAGE.
When does the review embargo drop? Really interested in this game but I want to see some feedback on the finished game first before dropping money on it.
lol RAGE is *not* a horror-type action game. It's still just an action game, but it differentiated itself from the competition by being a predecessor to the action-RPG combat of Fallout 4. In fact, I'm pretty sure part of the team that worked on the first RAGE later went on to help with the development of Fallout 4. RAGE 2 on the other-hand is your generic DOOM clone with a post-apocalyptic skin.
@@-CrimsoN- I agree. I just found rage 1 scary because of the gritty, pale graphics, slow pacing, and empty environment compared to the colorful, fast paced bright graphics of rage 2.
All of these other shooter games could learn something from Rage 2 , ditch the sniper rifles so it keeps people close to the action. I hate long range weapons in run and gun games . Wish it had a multiplayer mode .
Call me crazy but I really enjoyed the first Rage. Needless to say, I'm definitely getting this one as well. Looks like a mix of Prey (by Arkane studios) and Fallout, which I love. Speaking of Prey, I hope Arkane makes a sequel to that but I don't think it sold very well, sadly. I highly recommend that game.
Feels like if Devil May Cry was a first person shooter. The trailers showed that this game is aiming at a stylish combat, and the inclusion of a stylish ranking system similar to Bulletstorm or the above mentioned DMC would've benefited the game even more.

@@gregchristensen9195 Err, didn't it already do that or were you being sarcastic? Unless I missed or forgot something. lol
@@nickg.4050 no i'm talking about what Rage 2's ending is supposed to be lol, but I agree with you on the first one's ending, it was super dull and made the game feel unfinished (I just realized I kinda misread what you meant, there wasn't an actual boss battle with the leader of the authority in the first game, he wasn't even in the first game except for being a voice on the radio)
Rage 2 kind of looks like Borderlands if it were made by Ubisoft lol Not a diss, I’m a huge fan of most Ubi games but for some reason Rage 2 just doesn’t look super interesting to me. Maybe if Borderlands 3 weren’t coming but Idt I need 2 long chaotic shooters in wasteland style settings in one year.
Imagine if they used the elder scrolls engine for this lol
oof
Imagine if they used fallout engine for this lol
@@IskenderCaglarM41B441 they run on the same engine
Physics would mess any game up
I think that's exclusive to Bethesda game studios
I remember when I was 9 and I was so into rage. Begged my family to buy me the anarchy edition for Christmas. Finally got it, and loved it. I hope they bring back the card game. One of my favorite parts of it
I love it. I loved Rage 1, but I adore Rage 2. I think it's a perfect FPS game. It's got everything, lot of fun.
"no snipers" this is true...i noticed...though to be fair one of the guns has a decent range and fires through multiple enemies...so that is the closest thing to sniper you get
I'm getting a nice Bulletstorm vibe!!
Not going to lie, I will miss the Road Rage mode. I had so much fun on that back on the first one, even when the servers were as barren as the games world ahaha. Still gunna get this and bang it out.
Never played the first one but this looks amazing, can’t wait to play it
No need to play the first, the devs made Rage 2 in such a way that it's accessible for people who never played the first
Greg Christensen that’s awesome news
superhero landing 😎 7:51
In all my years of gaming I have never bought on launch day. I think that's about to change.
The fact that you play a Ranger named Walker makes this the greatest game ever.
But... *IS THE CARD GAME BACK???*
Yo! Yes!!
That's a great question cause that card game was the bomb
@@robertjennings6176Jennings what about five finger fillet?
Nope :(
@@elliotjohnson9415
Sad. I loved that part
Replayed the first game and I’m excited for the 2nd installment, but it just sucks that the BFG is only exclusive to the deluxe edition.
gonna wait at least a month post release.
They're offering tons of cool stuff for preorders. Could be a bad sign they're doing that
The comments.
What ever happened with Andrew "The New Guy"?
He's still thee... He's just not called "the new guy" anymore, since he has been there for quite a while!
@Jack Goff No he didn't...
That's him in the video. He just isn't a new guy anymore lol.
He got old...
The new guy for 6 months
I feel like people that like into more in depth combats rather than flashy over the top, comedic and arcadey fights are really falling short as of lately :( My favorite parts in Rage 1 where you had to go move from cover to cover in a firefight, being careful. Here it seems to be "Jump around like a maniac and throw around flashy special attacks" looks like the type of gameplay that is fun for a short while, then gets too boring after a bit.
I found rage 2 boring from the start
Im hyped for this game

“And at, and at.”
😂
this game actually looks really freakinh amazing i love fast pased shooters and i love fast pased abilty kinda games
In that case I recommend you play Bulletstorm if you haven't already.

now ill just wait for lord Gaben to tell me when to buy it

Nice! Thank u id for doom wolfenstein rage comander keen! Also i wonder if id will count t three!
Don't forget Quake
Yeah...like Quake 3
DOOM 3
@@qewiiiiii ok
Commander Keen 3. Quake 3. Doom 3.
Still have my launch copy of rage 1, along with 2 separate game informer magazines with a super early build of Rage. Prob 2007. Have to dig it out. The mathematical acumen that ID soft has especially then, especially the Mega Texture tech they used for Rage is what drew me to its world. Wonder if the Scorchers have evolved as well
This game looks awesome. I am going to get it.
Same guys who made fallout 76 made this. guaranteed buggy mess, with added shady micro transactions.
@@SurrealNirvana really? That really sucks!!
@@SurrealNirvana What are you talking about idiot? Fallout 76 is purely made by Bethesda Studios. This is only published by Bethesda. It's from id (who made Doom) and Avalanche who makes the Just Cause games.
Surreal Nirvana the people who made it are the people who made mad max, and the just cause series avalanche studios Bethesda are the publishers There’s a bit of a difference
Silux Khan you’re fine Bethesda aren’t the developers.
I love ID and their games are some of my favorite series, and though I usually love single player only, I think this is probably the one game they could have added multi-player in where it would have been pretty cool...still,I'm stoked for this game and SO god dam keen for doom eternal
The first game was pretty fun until about the midway point where the game got nearly impossible all of a sudden...
I never found it that hard
After you get your hands on those grenade rounds for the combat shotgun you basically just unlock easy mode for the rest of the game.
@@soulnomad5231 Yeah I felt like the game took off after that point and the game was finished in a blink of an eye. Let's hope they fix the pacing this time around!
The first was awesome back at 2011 now 2019...wait till it is released to judge...
I love rage one. I had so much fun with that game.
I was blown away by the visuals. Looked incredible.
The biggest change....wingsticks fkn suck in rage 2
Biggest change : it features now the doom guy
idk for what reason but the whole artstyle asthetics and everything of this game reminds me of Far Cry: New Dawn
Never played the first one but this one looks fun
A little bad that there will be no sniper rifle, even though it might slow down the pace of the game for some people, I usually use sniper rifles in short range combat and It would be really cool to combine that with the new movement and abilities.
One great game thankfully EPIC hasn't put their filthy hands on :P
They probably tried...
I like Rage 2 I think it's better than the first Rage gameplay better graphics better
You seem to be very op. Hope its not too easy :D
All the gameplay has been at the easiest difficulty, if you stick it on hard or nightmare you'll definitely have more of a challenge
NO SNIPER RIFLE? Nooooo. So satisfying popping off a long rage hit. How could you, Avalanche????
Because it's basically a DOOM rip-off. Just mindlessly shoot anything that moves. It's stupid. Even the first RAGE had a sniper rifle (and crossbow).
Doom has a sniper rifle you soggy molding piece of toast. Its not even like there aren't long ranged weapons, there literally is the plasma rifle which is for killing enemies from a range
@@TheRealJochen No need to be salty over the fact that I'm not a fan of your wannabe post-apocalyptic DOOM clone.
Rage1>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rage2...
Agreed. While I still like RAGE 2, I liked the tone of the original a lot more. Even the A.I. in the original RAGE was more advanced and the gameplay was more complex. It also had its own identity which is what RAGE 2 severely lacks.
@@Vagrant7z I liked rage 2 better because the music of the original game felt way too tense and stressed me out so I barely played it
The game was genuinely good, but because of how tense the music was I thought it was going to be harder than it actually was
@@TheRealJochen Are you for real...
That's pretty damn sad. The music was hardly intense. Especially not enough to keep me from playing the game. How can you even state that RAGE 2 is a good game when you haven't even fully played the original?
@@-CrimsoN- as I said before "you are a prick"
And I have fully played the original
seems like to me its almost like a cross between Doom and Bulletstorm. I love it
You've never played Borderlands I guess? It looks like Borderlands with a fan made ultra realistic brown mode.
@@tonyc7879 i have played every borderlands and it doesnt look like borderlands
Doom reskinned? Have you actually played rage 2? Because this is slightly faster than the original its suddenly a "doom reskin"?
The embargo lifts at 8am EST this Monday
And at And at number 3
Put together well. Nice work
Rage 1: A horror-type action game.
Rage 2: Action game.
lol RAGE is *not* a horror-type action game.
@@-CrimsoN- I think rage 1 is better than fallout 4 but that might just be my nostalgia blinding me.
All of these other shooter games could learn something from Rage 2 , ditch the sniper rifles so it keeps people close to the action. I hate long range weapons in run and gun games . Wish it had a multiplayer mode .
Bro, I’m buying it! Real open world game!!
That's what people said about just cause 4
If this was a co-op, it could have been the best gaming experience ever.
I already got a pre-ordered
Looks like the right kind of mindless fun that I enjoy every once in a while.
I...can't...wait
Looks awesome. Will definitely be picking this one up (as long as reviews are lookin good).
Hmmm so is "Walker" a reference to Captain Walker from Beyond Thunderdome or Walker Texas Ranger?
Seeing as you play as the last living ranger in this game, I'm assuming Texas Ranger
My god the gunplay looks sweet as F***!!
I think you're too young to remember SMASH TV. I'm fairly sure Mutant Bash TV is just an homage to that.
Feels like if Devil May Cry was a first person shooter. The trailers showed that this game is aiming at a stylish combat, and the inclusion of a stylish ranking system similar to Bulletstorm or the above mentioned DMC would've benefited the game even more.
