Hey everyone!I made these today n it was amazing! Just a small review for those who haven’t made these wonderful savory treats🥰. I have one advice tho...mine was a little raw on the inside so the second time I made them I fried it over low heat 😊
So I’m Jewish and Hanukkah is around the corner and we eat sufganiya for Hanukkah. But they’re usually sweet. I am currently debating if this can be considered Hanukkah sacrilege or not.. It looks delicious though! Great thing to make (fried or not) and freeze for an easy pull out and oven heat meal.
Nadia is one of best cooks I have come across in a long time, love her attitude and funky ways, just off to try these but will do in oven so prob more Ike buns but wondering how long to cook in oven for ? Ps her spicy pretzels are delicious and. A big favourite in this house !
At first I thought " What the hell is Chichen? Is it one of those middle eastern or Russian cuisine? " . Curiously I clicked the video and I fell in love with this recipe.
Wow! That crunchy sound made my mouth water. Those are beautiful. If there are any left over, what is the best way to store them and for how long? Thank you. 😊
I've made similar with biscuit dough. You can freeze them, wrapped in plastic wrap or foil, then simply reheat in a low heat oven (300°F/150°C) for about 20 minutes.
I bet these would be amazing with with Cheeze too. Or maybe a Cheeze Stake filling. Possibly a Vedgable version even. I don't eat it personally, but pulled Porq could work as well.
This can be done with premade biscuit (savoury scone) dough, and if one wants to bake them, just brush with olive oil or Vegan butter or margarine for a similar outer crust. I've filled mine variously with Vegan faux meats done like this, or Italian style. If one uses premade fillings as well, this can be an amazingly quick, hearty meal, or done smaller, appetizers.
In addition to the deep-frying safety tip, "Drop it away from you," I think these additional instructions probably could have fit in the video: - how to make sure the oil is heated up enough that the doughnuts don't absorb a bunch before starting to cook - despite any fat or oil being viable choices, some are easier to use and these tend to be the lighter-weight ones
Reason is because in our countries in South Asia.....we don't use oil thermometers. We don't let deep frying things absorb oil. How and why is because we use our senses and learn by doing. We always deep fry and we know how to do that well without knowing the temperature
I love this recipe. I am vegan so i would do this recipe using savory lentils peas. but i would bake them instead. They also lovely that way too Thanks Nadia for this lovely recipe.
So enjoying me some Galaxy doughnuts after this video. Gonna put up some Delta Parole and AFI rock music while I bake em up again so they crisp 🍩 again food and music so good together. Make sure u dont cough tho singing along like I do
You can do this with biscuit dough as well. I've made stuffed biscuits over the years, and they're great. I normally bake mine, but I do brush with olive oil or Vegan butter or margarine for the fried effect. Using a store bought dough makes it a lot easier, you can also use any premade filling of your choice. I've done Vegan barbecue faux beef crumbles, but I've got some new "No Evil" faux chicken strips which I think I'll use tonight, with her seasonings.
I've done similar using biscuit (savoury scone) dough, with Vegan fillings of faux meat, seasoned either like barbecue, or like mini calzones, Italian style. It's really quick and versatile, whatever you're into. I do bake mine, but I brush them with olive oil or Vegan butter or margarine, for that fried glaze.
Love it!!! Love it more when you said about Bangladeshis don't want a meal want to snack 😄😄 totally... I am definitely going to try it. I made similar one before though 😃
Looks yummy! How about carnitas an cheese. Oh perfect do some curry or tandoori chicken, please. I had a place I always went to an I moved, havnt been able to find any to match. We visited back an found out they were closed because of some very unfortunate reasons. I miss my tandoori chicken sandwiches. Please help!

All Nadiya's outfits are so on point! So classy and just so nice. She should release a clothing line.

Mine were also raw inside, probably dough want good it didn’t rise as Chef’s in this video
You're telling me it has been four days and nobody on the BBC RUclips channel has noticed that CHICKEN is spelled CHICHEN
It has now been a week
2 weeks
It also says donut, not doughnut 🍩😭
😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
In Pakistan, chicken donuts are baked and as topping it usually has cheese and bruinoise cut peppers plus tomatoes.
Came in here thinking I'm going to discover a new ingredient called chichen.
😂😂😂
Yeah!!! I thought it'd be vegan or something 😂😂😂
Love this, love her & love the instrumental version of Valerie playing in the background.
I am more interested in her cardigan ..it is fab!!
Love, love, love the way she cooks/bakes! And I especially love her explanation about frying this particular dish😊✌
I love to watch her 🤗 she's natural, happy and positive 💕💝 and recepies are unique and tasty. Thank you 🥰

Tried this recipe the other day, it was delicious, I'm going to try it with lamb next time.

I'm here for chichen the new mysterious ingredient.
lol

Good idea: Easy to make and looks delicious. I will try it.
Thanks Nadiya
I’m just here for the CHICHEN comments. I mean its been a week already and BBC still haven’t fixed the typo. Lol 😆
Its been three years now :D
Nadiya I really enjoy watching your videos!! I’m glad to see your back! Happy New Year 2021 😊♥️

I wondered that myself. Different items cook at different temperatures.

i love nadiya
I feel like she could be my bestie even though we’d have nothing in common besides a love of cooking and baking.
Wow you nailed it babe, you are my favourite Nadia May Allah bless you always dear
The view on that garden!!!
Also, it looked like fried chicken bun. East Asian cuisine.
I love this recipe. I am vegan so i would do this recipe using savory lentils peas. but i would bake them instead. They also lovely that way too
Thanks Nadia for this lovely recipe.
You can mimic the chicken with jackfruit too
@@Kaastengels portobello mushrooms would work great as well....

How was it
Love your style lady and the recipe is perfect. This is from a doughnut addict!!
Please tell me can we bake it?
That dough looks really tasty. But i cant imagine having doughnut with savoury/ chicken

When tasting them I think you would understand.
In Japan, we have a curry bread that’s basically a doughnut filled with a pork curry and coated in bread crumbs. Savoury doughnuts are a real treat.
Think of it like a steamed bun.
Nadiya fab recipe.Thx for sharing ❤️
Is there written recipes or just the videos?
Even though all of the measurements are proper and I’ll have to convert a lil bit... this is my new favorite cooking show.
The chicken to bread ratio was off
I thought that too but wondered if I was the only one!
Thats her preference ofcourse, you can adjust the ratio how ever you want it
