Indianapolis Colts vs. Denver Broncos (October 6, 2022) - The Greatest Game

- Опубликовано: 29 сен 2024
- On Thursday, October 6, 2022, a game was played. A game that was one of the worst abominations that was shown on a television (or computer) screen this year. Football in name only: Indy vs. Denver at Empower Field at Mile High.
It was truly The Greatest Game, if you like shitshows. God help us all.
68 minutes of NFL football, 0 touchdowns. The Greatest Game.
I mean, you could have had 70. That would have made it more worthwhile. Doubly so had it stayed 9-9 instead.
This is the second time in Russell Wilson's career that he's been involved in an overtime game in which neither team scored a TD.
Think about that.
@@Loogaroo1 Difference is I actually saw that first one! At least that one was entertaining as fuck!
Choosing to sleep and miss this game = me. Me 1, Y’all 0
Wait, which was the other game?
Of all the games that have been played in NFL history, this was one of them
That's debatable.
And that’s a shame
It was A game
This game has many classic moments the defense morbing all over the place was certainly one of them.
This game is almost like the Seattle vs. Vikings game in the playoffs when it came down to a final missed field goal. Ending score 10-9. Thank God that one didn't go to overtime
I'm a die hard Bronco fan. 53 years old. I've seen Terrible Super Bowl Blowouts, I've seen The Drive, The Fumble and 3 Superbowl Wins. I've seen Josh McDaniels blow a 6-0 start and miss the playoffs. I've run the gamut of emotions with this team. But I've NEVER seen an offense this bad, to the point where one of the very best, loyal fan bases left the stadium in a tie game. And it is well deserved. That has to send a message. I believe the blame lies with Hackett, as he's made Wilson doubt himself with such bad play calling. Fire him in the bye week, and offer Sean Payton whatever he wants, spend the rest of this season preparing for next season, and with the same roster, this team will contend for a playoff spot and jump start Wilson. Trust me. Wilson isn't done, he's overwhelmed.
This aged like a $10 bottle of imperial stout. Not quite like wine, but still well. We suffered the whole season with Hackett, but we did end up getting Sean Payton.
I forgot just how bad Russ was last season until I saw this video. Perhaps one of the most painful games in Broncos History.
Both teams are proof that you are never “JUST a quarterback away”
The opposite, a bad QB drag the team down,Wilson was a product of Carroll and Ryan should retire already
Hilariously, right after, Richard Sherman was yelling about Wilson passing the ball on short yardage rather than running the ball
I'm surprised that didn't make it in the final cut.
Evil Russ be like “I’ll convert on crucial red zone plays”.
Do you remember when a 12-9 game meant you were watching the two best defenses in the NFL play each other? Pete Carroll Farms remembers.
Real Days of our Broncos vibes
The greatest game in Thursday night football history
I never thought I'd see two NFL offenses worse than the Bears and Steelers this season.
3:40 anyone know where this music is from?
Tree has has the best youtube voice on the planet. And as I've said before, the best sound effects.
I don't know what was harder to watch, this game, or this vid with the framerate hitches from Amazon. Literally hard on the eyes.
Russ was throwing to Hamler slight late, but Sutton ran in front of it. He didn't TARGET SUTTON
I didn't want to watch this entire game, but I couldn't help it. From start to finish, I was entranced. It had a grip on me. The magnetic pull of terrible football was too strong to escape.
This will go down in the History books as.... "The greatest game that never happen".
Out of all the football games that were ever played, this game was also played.
The glue factory matchup
How to follow this up? Washington vs Chicago… 12-7. TNF is so great to watch
Gonna put this in the watch later folder so I can always come back to it and remember this game years later
The only people that won this game are the people that didn't watch it.
Gonna put this in my watch later to remember not to watch it
Somehow still more entertaining than Halo, ActMan...sad
Truly one of the games of all time
@@SockEater4293 or a Seahawks fan who knows those draft picks are looking better and better. ActMan is a Seahawks fan
I loved the part where the Broncos said “It’s Ridin’ Time” and rode all over the Colts. Truly one of the football games of all time.
I wept when it happens the pure passion of Russel Wilson when he rode all over Matt Ryan was glorious to watch.
My favorite part is when Matt Ryan said “It’s Colting Time!” and then Colted all over the Broncos D.
Truly one of the teams of all time.
@@kedharswaminathan7571 Indeed, this was truly one of the moments from the game.
He didn’t say that
@@carlosv9208 Found the guy who didn’t watch the game of all time
I remember seeing a tweet that said both Ryan and Wilson went from bird based teams to horse based teams, and I find myself thinking about that a lot
Birds fly through the air = passing
Horses run on the ground = rushing
Make of that what you will
Not long before they’re glue.
Except they both got acid dumped into their brains during the switch
It makes sense, since they both look like a horse's ass throwing a football now
@@DancingBlueMLBCatGamer That's _WAY_ better than my "both words are often followed by s***" joke. 😆 😂
The Broncos truly are the sleeper team of the season.
They're the team most likely to put you to sleep.
For years already
That's a comment worthy of Statler and Waldorf. DOH-HO-HO-HO-HO!

I'd like point out. The day before this game, the Miami Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves 12-9. There were as many points scored in this football game, as there was in a baseball game.
Al Michaels call on the interception kills me. He was just done at that point.
Like the Eagles vs the former Football Team
If you slow it down enough, you can see the very moment he dies inside.
That is no longer Al Michaels, that is just a corpse
That call had me dying during the game, the disappointment in his voice was immeasurable
“hello again everybody” is the perfect microcosm of the broncos season (their defense has to come back onto the field yet again after another 3 and out)
How do you not end with Richard Sherman venting his frustrations? "Run the ball!!!"
The sad, resigned "Broncos Country, Let's Ride" was more poignant, imo.
@@UrinatingTree whose worse on OFFENSE

The Colts vs Broncos makes Super Bowl 53 look like a gem 💎
At least that game ended when everybody had seen enough. Colts-Broncos just wouldn’t die.
SB 53 at least defenses looked on top of their game.
How about the Steelers-Dolphins Monday night *slop?*
Did a video on that for season 3 of the Greatest Game.
Super Bowl 53 was a classic defensive clinic
'People paid to see this in person' - some of the saddest words ever spoken
This definitely was the game in NFL history
Bold take
There was scoring that happened.
A true duel of players!
Great take 👍
A truly unforgettable game
Poor Al Michaels. As I listened to him suffer through this game I couldn’t help but think of his iconic “Do you believe in miracles.” And next weeks game looks no better.
this is not the ideal ending for his historical career
@@otaviofrn_adv his career is already legendary, he's at Amazon for the money
He’s probably going to retire after this season…… probably Amazon will raid ESPN for Chris Fowler next if necessary…….
Either way, Al’s going to call one postseason on NBC this season……
Al Michaels had to suffer through the 6-6 tie between Seattle and Arizona a few years ago.
"Do you believe in miracles? This game is finally over"
That Bane joke was beautifully inserted in the script. Well done Tree, I got a good chuckle out of that.
When the highlight of that game came from Richard Sherman getting PTSD in the postgame... you know there's problems...
This is the first time I’ve heard an announcer literally done with a game with Al Michaels.
They werent done with it though. I think it was Michaels partner who said something to the affect of "a game is so bad that it becomes good"
At least that Seahawks/cardinals game a few years ago had Michaels screaming "THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" This had nothing
I will admit the more bored Michael’s became, the more I enjoyed this game.

Sherman definitely had the greatest reaction in all of this
Melvin Gordon, KJ Halmer, and Richard Sherman all looked like they were about to kill Russell Wilson during/after this game.
_(Marshawn Lynch has entered the chat)_
This plus the actual injuries should have merited Injury Bowl status in addition to Greatest Game
I was PRAYING that you made this into a The Greatest Game episodes, you never disappoint Tree
As a Broncos fan, seeing guys like McDumbass and Meatball Vic made me believe Denver couldn't hire someone worse. Now Denver I truly believe they found someone worse.
People were leaving a tied NFL game that was about to head into overtime, that should give you an idea of how bad this game was.
Would have at least liked to see a 9-9 tie to make up for that.
For those ticket prices too

This comment is from a packers fan
The Wilson trade is on pace to be one of/if not *the* worst trade in NFL history.
Very similar to the Vikings trading a kings ransom for an old busted Herschel Walker.
It's actually a myth that the Viking's got an "old busted Herschel Walker." In fact, Walker had an excellent time in his 3 seasons in Minnesota, gaining nearly 4,000 all-purpose yards and 27 touchdowns. It was still a bad trade, of course, cause the Cowboys got much more in value then Walker, but still Walker did play for the Vikings at a very high level.
I think it’s too early to dub it the worst so far. Lock, Fant, and Harris have either not played or been very pedestrian on the field. Plus it will ultimately be decided how Seattle uses the picks, because they have had notoriously bad draft classes and botching player development.
Speaking of Walker, anyone see he paid his gf for an abortion? And yet he is running on a platform outlawing all abortions, no exceptions. Can't make this up, what an idiot.
You would think the Broncos would have learned their lesson with Joe Flacco, but apparently not. All we heard last year was "the Broncos would be a playoff team if they only had a good quarterback." Umm, I guess it was worse than that.
@@orangehoof- I mean, they didn't even keep their coach, so it was far more than just a qb needed
Tom Grossi's stream of this game was so much fun. This game was so bad that it was funny.
I'm so happy I have you, UrinatingTree, to catch me up on all the --atrocities-- brilliant football that I miss due to not having Amazon Prime.
We have a 1-2-1 team and a 2-2 team playing like it's Ultra Instinct Tankbowl.
I think we really need to give the Broncos an extra bye week so we can treat them mentally. This crippling fear of the end zone is really starting to make me uncomfortable for them, and I'm a Raiders fan.
I’m a Broncos fan for football and a Cardinals fan for baseball. The last 24 hours may have just killed my love of sports.
Become a Lions fan? Somehow, we have collectively deluded ourselves into having hope again. It's nice to have a semi-competent head coach, a GM who isn't a complete idiot (Isn't Elway the GM?), and an entertaining team.
And your insane.
@@seanharrison6719 you're*
I’m in the same boat as you. 😢
Words do not describe how disappointed I was that this..."game" didn't end in a tie
That's my defense for why Hackett went for it. A little over 2 minutes left if you tie the game. The Colts are likely the only team that could win at that point. Could you look yourself in the mirror if you had to grovel for a draw against this Colts team?
@@12jswilson Going for it on 4th and one isn't a problem. Going for the inzone in the middle of the field against Gilmore is while you have a man wide open for a first, or you could just hand the ball off and run it, their defense is exhausted and probably can't stop you from getting one yard.
I think they had a run play for a loss on the drive, and if Hackett sees that something might go wrong he panics and refuses to try. This seems to have been a consistent problem with him.
This game set the sport of Football back at least 40 years.
40 is a very conservative estimate.
Don't remind me of that Rams-Niners Late MNF shit show in 2016.
Herm Edwards as of halftime: _"What Jeff Fisher's Rams have done was set offensive football back fifty years."_
That game's entire third quarter was the most inept offensive football I had watched. I didn't think that level of ineptitude would be topped until THIS game.

God damn Tree, you were on point in this one. The Bane line killed me. Good shit man
💯
When Denvers local announcers are saying they owe you an apology for airing what you saw, thats bad football. It's honestly surprising, given how loyalist the Denver base has been to this team, to see them essentially cry out since week 1. But when you go out and get a guy many viewed as a future HOF with the players/capital involved after years of being on the sidelines following their superbowl victory, the performance was hoped to be much better then this. Objectively, Wilson hasn't looked right for a season and a half prior to this year. The offense should be better then this, and likely will be by seasons end. But for now, this is not a trend. This has been the reality of him. Gotta feel bad for Matt Ryan, he was promised a high level o line and a top tier RB that can easily take pressure off. He's had not really either. But he also looks like a player past his prime.
NGL, when Russ pulled out the Chefs hat & said "it's cookin time" I was completely blown away, breathtaking performance 🔥
Ikr bravo Vince
I yelled at both Reich and Hackett in this game more than I have yelled at Vrabel (as a titans fan) for the past 5 years.

Being a Colts fan sucks post Peyton.
First off, the franchise kicks Manning out of town even though he WANTED to finish his in Indianapolis.
Then they luck into another franchise QB that could carry a subpar roster and was an MVP candidate in his comeback season that retired at 29 due to horrible roster building and letting him get mauled.
The Trent Richardson trade.
