Eye protection would not be amiss for any installation where smaller particles may get in your eyes. Just a tip for future endeavors. (Scares the crap out of me thinking i may get something in my eye.)
Yeah he seems to be really....lax on PPE in general, which frustrates me mostly cause I'm sure there are at least a few people who watch who will fallow his example. Really shoulda used a better mask for the fiber glass installation too.
I've not found that problem because I keep their bedding deep. And my coop is not huge, and their roosts aren't high, so my girls don't have far to jump. Good point, though.
Morgan is the only RUclips channel I watch where at the end of each episode I’m genuinely both sad the episode is over and happily looking forward to the next one.
I love that you do so many projects yourself and they aren’t perfect because I do to and I’m happy with them because I did it myself and they aren’t perfect just like me!!!!
I think it's perfect. If there are any peculiarities, so much the better. 'Using what you have' is what our great grandparents did, and if they were still around, we could learn so much from them.
Looks like it's coming together in a Morgan sort of way, lol, and I can't wait to see it fully functional. Thanks for taking us along, see you soon!🐈🐈🐣🐥👍💕
I kind of like the scrappy look. Reminds me of a tree house. Morgan, I strongly encourage you to put an exterior doorknob on the door, like the ones on houses, that unlocks with a key from the outside, and with a little turn knob on the inside, so that no one can ever be locked inside the room accidentally (or on purpose). Its extra work to make the appropriate holes and install it, but its a safety issue. Umm..wondering why you didn't run electric before insulating and closing up the walls?
He already had the electrical in place before he started. It was one of the reasons he built it kind of in the middle of the floor, that's where the outlets were.
Electricity is already in.. Well, maybe not the lighting etc). back right corner. I assume all other electrical will be conduit.. Because it is easier to work with.. doesn't interact with the insulation (some electrical wire sheathing has issues with some insulation...)
Looks great! I too enjoy the vibe of my very unprofessional DIY woodwork. One thing though - Treated lumber is not used indoors not only because it's unnecessary but also because it's toxic. How toxic? I don't know.
4:48 The irony that you bought a door that was too small from someone who couldn't use the door because it was too small for their house is classic Morgan and I'm here for it.❤👍😂👍
Gosh Morgan, I think you may even have outdone me with all the random patching of that timber lining. I thought I was bad for having to stick extra bits of wood on a job to hide the places where things didn't quite fit properly, but your interior timber chaos on the edge of the roof has blown me right out of the water. Thanks for rescuing my reputation as a DIY'er. My partner was starting to mock me - but now she can see I'm not the only one...
❤ Great job, Morgan! Your carpentry skills keep improving. I can't wait to see the hatchery when it's finished. Ginny Barn Cat is your supervisor, Morgan! ❤
Morgan, hope you thought about ventilation so the inside doesn't get moldy from warmth and moisture. Hope you also allowed for getting electricity into the space! Much love!
Little guidance - It works. Apply a liberal amount and leave it on the boat for a couple of days in the hot sun. Then wipe excess off with a towel. Some of the vaseline soaks into the fiberglass and does an amazing job restoring the color
08:38 cool fan mounts 🤣 It's actually entertaining to watch you struggle with such a project, using twice as much wood as actually necessary and the most complicated solutions for the simplest problems. Honestly the end result looks better than I expected and should work well enough for the intended purpose. Just don't forget to apply some multipurpose treatment on the wood (mold repellent, fire retardant and vapor sealant, I posted a more detailed comment about this under your last video), otherwise things can go wrong soon after you start running the incubators in there.
The epic hatchery build continues. It's taking so long that it feels like someone far more qualified than myself ought to write "The Ballad Of Morgan's Folly" set to fast-paced banjo. 😂❤❤❤😂
With all that insulation, you will require a lot less electricity to maintain the temperature in there. Well done. The fact you used plywood for all the walls mounted on so many studs means you can hang a heck of a lot of stuff on the walls in there!
I like your ingenuity. When I was young, I built a number of tree houses that, rivaled your incubation room. However your progress is a lot better than mine and your materials were indeed better. You deserve an accomplishment award. Plan to reward yourself when you're done like, take your wife out to dinner- even if its only to McDonald's.
I'm happy for you and hope you had the opportunity to figure out what to do and not to do in the future. ADHD brain is really bad about me starting projects with very little planning. Patience is a struggle. Keep at it buddy! Glad you have had time to work on your farm improvement projects!
as a person i cant but help admiring your dedication and commitment as a builder im in a corner in a fetal position sobbing 😉😁. good luck with your hatchings 👍
Good morning Morgan, evidently I’ve missed some episodes. I don’t know if you have talked about a room heat source but I’d suggest looking into a Dyna glow lp heater only electric is for a fan . Hooks up to gas grill or larger tank. I picked up one on Craig’s list for under $100 with tank and line. Hope this may help.
I must admit I haven't watched this yet..... BUT I will..... Have you ever run across in your research, how the ANCIENT CHINESE PEOPLE'S, hatched out, MANY eggs, in caves.....🤔. I noticed this, years ago, BEFORE internet, etc...... AND was Totally fascinated by the concept???? Anyways, as always, THANK YOU for your channel!!! These are wonderful times!!! ❤❤❤❤🥰🥰👃✌️🇨🇦
Good use on the surgical mask - at a minimum. Contractor’s masks are even better than surgical masks at filtering out stuff you don’t want to inhale. Looks great, Morgan. I like the shiplap (sp?).
So much better than I could ever do, but soo much jankieness. I hope you send this video to Al Lumnah, it would give him fits. Again, better than I could do, and I agree the random filler pieces give it a nice homey feel. Can't wait to see it in action, and I hope it is an improvement on your previous hatching room.
In the corners the insulation is not good. If you press the insulation is not going to insulate much. The air between the fibers help the insulation. If you want to reduce your electricity bill on heating use some Heat repelling foil too. But it seems its a bit too late for that. Other than that its a great work! If i miss spelled something, im sorry. Eng is not my main language.
What kind of audiobooks do you like? If you like fantasy I would suggest Sabriel by Garth Nix. Tim Curry does the audio for the first 3 books. 💜 also love how the rooms coming along!
it's agood effort and not everyone can be an expert , but I kind of imagine all those workmen who made your barn looking at this with just a slow shake of their heads.
I think I may have missed this, is there an advantage to not insulating the wall next to the outside barn wall and the ceiling? I am wondering about the heat exchange and keeping your temps stable?
Eye protection would not be amiss for any installation where smaller particles may get in your eyes. Just a tip for future endeavors. (Scares the crap out of me thinking i may get something in my eye.)
Totally agree on eye protection, just not worth the risk
My husband has assured me that if he goes blind to kill him, so I take eye protection very seriously in this house as a rule 😅
Fiberglass! Yeah.
Yeah he seems to be really....lax on PPE in general, which frustrates me mostly cause I'm sure there are at least a few people who watch who will fallow his example. Really shoulda used a better mask for the fiber glass installation too.
Eye protection is a must when working around fiberglass, because it is literally glass.
Darling Morgan, please stop putting yourself down. You have learnt so many skills. I think you are awesome. Well done friend.❤❤❤
You listened to Alison and wore a mask. Thank you. May you please take care and stay safe., Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩
You're doing a good job. Don't forget to seal all the wood inside the room with a poly paint sealing product.
When it comes to piecework you are very creative. Enjoying these episode videos.
I put inexpensive vinyl sheating on the floor of my chicken coop to help with poop clean up. It really helps when doing chores!
My problem with inexpensive cynic flooring I poor in my coop is how slippery it is for the chickens.
I've not found that problem because I keep their bedding deep. And my coop is not huge, and their roosts aren't high, so my girls don't have far to jump. Good point, though.
Vinyl flooring makes a good wall covering as well -- wet sponge clean.

i am proud of you, sincerly and humbly proud, it looks beautiful morgan friend
I love watching the progress of your work on the hatchery! ❤
“Welcome to This Old Barn” 🤣
Looks like it's coming together in a Morgan sort of way, lol, and I can't wait to see it fully functional. Thanks for taking us along, see you soon!🐈🐈🐣🐥👍💕
The hatchery is looking good! Loving this series
Thank you, Morgan 🥰
Will your brooder fit through the narrower doorway ?
Have a lovely day, Morgan 🥰🥰
Party like its 2020 gosh Morgan you do say the darndest of things, you're videos are never boring and so different than the last ❤❤❤
OMG...when you knocked on the ceiling of the hatchery you sent my little chihuahua into a tizzy of BARKING!! lol
Mine would have as well but i wear earphones so the 3 of them cant hear. 😅😂
Dang, Morgan, you're getting pretty good at this.
I kind of like the scrappy look. Reminds me of a tree house.

Umm..wondering why you didn't run electric before insulating and closing up the walls?
at least it should be fairly easy to take down the plywood and run power in if he decides he wants into wiring?
He already had the electrical in place before he started. It was one of the reasons he built it kind of in the middle of the floor, that's where the outlets were.
Electricity is already in.. Well, maybe not the lighting etc). back right corner.

As long as he isn't using it as a cutting board he is fine, but you are right it is unnecessary.
Newer stuff less so, but ACQ is hell on fasteners not designed for it.
4:48 The irony that you bought a door that was too small from someone who couldn't use the door because it was too small for their house is classic Morgan and I'm here for it.❤👍😂👍
Very proud of you! You tackled your apprehension on building the baby bird room with ease. More power to you!
the hatchery is looking great! You have come along way in your skill set since you started the farm.
Love your confidence Morgan! Can’t wait to see the finished room!
Awesome job Morgan. 👏👏👏👏
Gosh Morgan, I think you may even have outdone me with all the random patching of that timber lining. You're doing great Morgan!
You are booming quite the craftsman .
Look forward to seeing the chicks .
Thankyou for sharing your adventures.
That room is so good looking :) I love the chaos of the shipslap
safety glasses would be a good investment too as you don't want fiberglass to get in your eyes
The hatchery looks nice. I've learned some things from watching this series. It's cool how you found the door, I like hearing that kind of stuff.
Very cool. You're getting good at this.
Hi...... Morgan Nice to see you Love watching your video homestead bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍👌👌👌
Oh boy! That's a studio flat. I just love it! 💯
Your hatchery is looking fantastic
❤ Great job, Morgan! Your carpentry skills keep improving. I can't wait to see the hatchery when it's finished. Ginny Barn Cat is your supervisor, Morgan! ❤
All the construction snobs in the comments and me over here impressed and ecstatic that you’re hatching more weird chickens ❤😂
Exactly❤
Well Done Morgan!! I won't show it to my Hubby...he'll faint....I Love it!!
Your are industrious, energetic and inspiring.
Morgan, you do things the way I do them. Not perfect, but it’s done and I can be proud. Good work❤❤❤
Me to❤
Your right, your woodwork Drives Me Crazy!!
Love the DIY look. And of course your feline helpers😅😊
Have fun getting your equipment in and out of there :-)
I've really been enjoying this installment format for your projects. It's like having a cliffhanger with every episode.
It's coming together nicely!
My carpenter grandfather always talked about "farmer jobs" as another term for DIY. I now understand. 😅 Keep up the great work Morgan!
Nice job!!❤❤❤
Excellent work Morgan..love the QuickTime 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Saw the thumbnail and thought: "I know that cat!" 😸
You're doing such a good job! It's coming together very well.
Morgan, hope you thought about ventilation so the inside doesn't get moldy from warmth and moisture. Hope you also allowed for getting electricity into the space! Much love!
Wonderful job
I really like the music in your latest videos. It's like a fun tuba(?) medley
Closer an closer an closer and now all but done......Thanks Morgan 👍
Old F-4 2 Shoe🇺🇸

I am very happy you haven't injured yourself during this build, Cudos!
We been concerned since the coffee incident 😊
08:38 cool fan mounts 🤣

Has anyone commented the door is upside down?
Maybe it was on purpose to drive me nuts, lol
Eh, if he's happy with it that way is it really upside down?
Up is down😂
Upside down door kinda fits the whole shabang.
It opens to the outside, like an escape door on a public building. - Just that the outside is still inside the barn.
Edit: oh, you mean upside down.
The epic hatchery build continues. It's taking so long that it feels like someone far more qualified than myself ought to write "The Ballad Of Morgan's Folly" set to fast-paced banjo. 😂❤❤❤😂

I think you did a great job. Love the hatchery.
Looking good….👍
and the saga of the hatchery continues!
My back hurts just looking at all this work
Great job!
How about some scrubbable paint on the walls and some sheet vinyl on the floor to expedite any necessary cleaning?
Nice work.
I'm happy for you and hope you had the opportunity to figure out what to do and not to do in the future. ADHD brain is really bad about me starting projects with very little planning. Patience is a struggle. Keep at it buddy! Glad you have had time to work on your farm improvement projects!

Awesome job! I'm curious why install the door upside down?
Consider eye protection during construction 🤍

Awesome
You could use the spray foam to fill in the gaps.

Yup, I was going to say that too. Don’t crush or cram in your insulation. Too late now, but for future builds.
I mean, you're having fun and if it works, that's all that matters. All those masters carpenters in the comments could use a chill pill.
Agreed! It’s snobbery that discourages people from picking up wood and tinkering. If it’s useful, safe and uses up some scrap items I’m 100% behind it
Hah I thought those were cat ears and decoration but turned out to be normal ass exhausts 😂
How about naming the hatchery after Molly? A nice memorial to one of your beloved farm animals 😊
not a diary farmer but you sure do some milking lol love the videos
lol true
I often wonder how much he edits out 😂❤
What about ventilation? Do the chicks have enough fresh air? If yes: perfect!
I was really hoping you were fitting that last board for a set of googly eyes - but yeah, fans makes more sense.
We're getting a full season out of this project!
HI Looking good so far. & Love how the cats are helping you out. LOL the fans look like cat heads. LOL

@ 1:33 Jenny [ would say ]; " What Need is there of a ' Fox in the Henhouse ' When there is a ' Cat ' in the Hatchery Instead " ? !
I was just watching the video that dropped today (building the table) and needed to restart my phone and now I don't see it anywhere! 😭
2:00 I👏 am👏 SHOOK!👏 🤣🤣🤣

Mahrvahlous! 🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣🐥🐥🐥
GrEaT jOb 🎉
Is there enough ventilation?
