Epic Blitzes, topwater blowups, and screaming drag. What's not to like? In this video we head over to the west coast to join Hogy pro staffer, Capt. Morgan Promnitz, as he targets schoolie bluefin tuna using both clear and translucent pink Hogy Charter Grade Poppers.

Rad seeing spinning reels make the way over. Lots of socal dudes are so fixated on their conventionals.

When throwing plugs for tuna, the majority of east coast anglers use spinning gear. It's interesting to see the difference in techniques/gear anglers use in their respected fisheries!

Foamers / Blitz = West Cost / Northeast. Had no idea what those guys were talking about when I was fishing in SD.

I really really do NOT like spinner for tuna, but for poppers I only use stella 10k and 14k. Casting on a wobbly platform, a smallest bird nest can ruin your only shot that day. I know there are people can cast a conventional a mile and perform every detail in a composed way when surrounded by foamers, I know I could not, so I carried 2 spinning gears. Shame on me.
