Pro tip: Mark your line with a sharpie at 100ft increments. It will help when the captain says they are are 340ft. Especially going on little sleep this will help.
Great content Taku. Such a neat trip. I would not be happy from the idiots that didn’t move. It’s common courtesy to reel up and get out of the way. I lost a huge kingfish because someone just stood there and didn’t move and tangled our lines. I try to avoid party boat fishing. Will go with 4-6 max to avoid losing a fish for such a dumb reason. Anyways, Cheers man!
You can always tell who the best fishermen are because they know when to move and help another fisherman.

So glad to see you landed one. As you know just getting bit requires an awful lot of effort. To save energy you might consider winding up perhaps just a 100ft and then dropping back into the zone. Nice work Taku!
I love how that attitude changes throughout the video😂. Firts few drops with no fish super humble and slight jealousy happening. By the 2nd fish taku knows it all and is calm cool and collected🤣

Living in SD all my life, 44 years and have never been deep sea fishing... may have to try.
Use to going deep sea with 6 of my friends. Too many anglers on the boat for me. Glad u caught some.

That camera is insane but beyond my budget. The lens as well at f1.8, low light and ibis on the camera body makes shooting at low light on hand held effortless. As a photographer hobbyist, that camera is my dream come true.

I was on a 1.5 on the tribute out of seaforth back in may! Crazy fishing, we caught 29 bft int he 80-120 range the first night! day was dead for us but the night bite was popping! I caught my first BFT around 80-90 lbs

No matter what gram jig you use, it will feel like it’s going straight out if your fishing the stern. You need to “fish the slide” Start at the bow and drop down, then make your way to the stern

Did you even watch the video? He was using color change line, so no need for sharpie markings AND worked the rail from bow to stern continually.
San Diego is the best for Tuna. I went out of Davey's Locker in Newport Beach. We got some sculpin and barracuda on the day I went out. Lots of fun. Can't wait to go back to SD. Cuz that's where it's at.

I often tell the story of fighting a 300 lb tuna for hours.... im 40 and not in my prime any longer but that fish humbled me...... the worst part a 12 foot shark took his tail as we he were getting it in the boat

I did a day & half on the Polaris Supreme. OMG, 8 straight hours of jigging at 300-350ft. You don’t understand unless you’ve done it. Your arms and body get put through the wringer before you even catch an actual tuna.

You should try soak your spam in soy sauce, brown sugar, and mustard before cooking (you could also add the ginger to it as well). As someone who used to sell musabis at school I learned this taste the best.
