If a 6-speed transmission, a boxer engine designed and engineered to give the car a 53/47 weight ratio and to sit low for a better center of gravity, double wishbone rear, and a mechanical differential is a "lot of technology", you need to learn more about cars..

Blame legislation, everything is heavier because of all the safety equipment they're required to have. I'd love to have the new 86, if it didn't cost so much. Sure it's cheap by sports car terms, but it still costs twice as much as regular japanese sedans. Was the AE86 that expensive compared to other cars at the time?
how does it have to much HP? if it had 130hp it would be slow as fuck everywhere because of the weight it has. of course it wont resemble the looks of the hachi. there were no other cars to continue the design. but it should mimic the driving feel and fun the hachi was/is
