    Holy shit now I know why I feel like crap all the time. I'm never satisfied with my work and school and always trying to find the next big life event to happen. It's an intense feeling of anxiety and depression. Its very hard to sleep and shut off my brain, and so I try heavy reading to help get me tired but its not working anymore. I realized now that the most important thing to help balance your brain chemistry is sleep, but the problem is the lack of serotoin due to the heightened level of dopamine. Serotoin is needed to produce melatoin for quality sleep. I've been supplementing melatoin for a week now and it works effectively. I do recommend limiting the dosage to 0.5 mg of melatoin at night, higher dosages can disrupt homostasis and create negative feed back limiting production of your natural production of melatoin.

    Serotonin is extremely important to innate immunity, something that is missed in most discussions about serotonin.

    I think there are essentially two types of depression, depression for no reason, and depression for good reason. If someone is always depressed with no obvious reason as to why they should be, then it's probably a chemical problem that can be treated with medication. But if someone is always depressed for a good reason, (loneliness, loss, chronic pain, etc) then that's normal, and you can't really heal normal. The treatment in this case would be to try to improve quality of life, if possible.

    • @nmtbc3619
      @nmtbc3619 2 года назад

      Yes, chemical.. because everything is chemical imbalance... but we need to find the reason that creates chemical imbalance. Read a book recently, "It didnt start with you" Mark Wolynn... found some answers there.

      That's how it works. In fact, video games and the internet are pretty similar to marijuana in that the point of using them recreationally is to heighten your dopamine/serotonin. Marijuana does this a lot more, though. Which is why most pot smokers only do it occasionally while internet users use the internet for hours and hours daily.

    Great way to explain the usage of drugs and how it affects our brain and mainly our emotions, which is something understood by people like ancient yogis but rarely discuss in our everyday life, I gotta say I am extremely fascinated by this topic and I have done much of my own research by taking most of this substances myself so I can speak from real experience however when it comes to the discussion of this topic is rare to find someone that can understand it and appreciate it in a non-judging way.

    Ive been thinking about the relationship between serotonin and the gut. I learned the other day that something like 90% of the serotonin produced in your body is done there. Im thinking about the "normal american diet" and how John Wayne had like 35lbs of crap in his stomach when he died. I wonder if you have clean guts and a healthy diet and bacteria how that will affect depression. When sad we all eat a lot of crap foods too that may be making depression worse by sickening our guts. Also it may be having something to do with all the "weak" and subdued population we seem to have with lowered serotonin levels.

    • @walterbcaly66
      @walterbcaly66 9 лет назад +4

      +Good Point the neurotransmitters in our brain are created in our guts using proteins that we eat. because we eat shitty carbohydrates all day we lower our neurotransmitters production

    How does it actually go away you can be in between but going back and forth to each side. How do I stop that?😢 It's hard! Sometimes I think too less and other times I think too much. When there's a test I am either done too early or done too late when I write a whole paragraph about something the next second I forget everything.... I don't think it can be fixed unless there's a more depth of study to it I've came this far now and I won't stop learning. The scary part is will I remember it all I have ADHD once someone has it trust me there is no way to fix it unless you tell me that I need to stop thinking in that way and stop putting myself down well with me what I have didn't go in the right way of the cycle instead it went backwards and like you said in the beginning 👀 you are right about saying depression is hard to fix. Try fixing it going backwards that's what I'm going through. Most of the people start out with a behavioral disorder but I started with axitety and depression so that's something to really think about. I wish it could be fixed by not having any meds in my body I want to be normal but I'm not I'm a Victoria look it up in the urban dictionary the first one is who I exactly am and it's sad... I was a totally normal kid but once I got older alot of things changed and I didn't know what was happening but as of today I just learned about myself and so I have ADHD 😭❤️ Hope things get better
