I could almost guarantee the first cake was deliciously tasting, but all others- factory produced - therafter would have been highly sweetened palm oil with a wet cardboard consistency, drizzled with arificial colourings leaving one bloated after one slice.
Corporate don't give a toss about the opinions of store colleagues (customer assistant, till operators, shelve stockers)! Store operation strategies are implemented based on the influence of market/industry behaviour, matching or staying one step ahead of the competition and being relevant with the time. Corporate only come in to see whether store staff are displaying the tasks which they are responsible for. Store colleagues sitting in meetings with corporate.... That's just a formality and give the false impression of " your views matter" 😷😷😷
The different supermarket customers reflect the socio-economic structure of the UK, with Aldi and Lidl being at the bottom and Waitrose and Marks being the peak.
I also never knew just how many flowers go out on mother's day in the UK. Its big in the US but nowhere near the the amount of flowers sold. Love how that very pricey arrangement with the plain vase didn't go over at all and she was just clueless as to why.
Merge to drive down price?? Nonsense, it would have been more likely to increase prices due to less competition. Sainsbury, after Waitrose and M&S food, is the most expensive supermarket.
@@RealShadowfiend180x Aldi seems to depend on customers not doing their arithmetic for price comparison...For instance, in comparison to Tesco, the weight is less, but the price per Kilo is the same, if not more. Also, in Aldi, the quality is lower. Sure, the minced beef is cheaper, but one has to look at the fat content...20% as compared to 5 to 12% in Tesco. Btw, I stopped listening to Which magazine reports when the claimed that Sainsbury was the cheapest supermarket.
Watching in 2023 when the grocery chain is defending giving company head getting what, $4 million salary or bonus, while employees getting just $11 an hour.
I think the more expensive flowers are not selling because that's not what you expect in a supermarket. If you are going to get more expensive flowers than you will go to see a florist. Also as someone who lives on the French Riviera that bouquet does not evoke for me the French Riviera.
“It’s important to stay connected to people on the ground. Know what’s going on in the organization”. Typical ceo. “I’m one of you!. I visit stores. “. Ok. You make $4 million a year. You have no idea what goes on on the floor of the store.
I've always thought Sainsbury's is poor value for money. It's expensive, but not great quality. At least with somewhere like M&S, you're getting good quality.
Well, last night I watched ITVX’s ‘Inside M&S Ep 1’ and the Lakeside store’s manager, “Dior” (actual name) who, though she told us “My standards are pretty high” was NOT an M&S advertisement! Her wardrobe/s consisting of tight-tight, shiny jeans and short tops - both squeezed over a generous (NOT statuesque)… figure; topped off by hair in a terrible state - dry, split ended to the nth degree wrecked havoc by, at least two, Ill-advised tints, the colours of which were unfortunately close kin to her make-up… ouch!
The poor lady that made the cake's face when the woman hated it 😭💀
Wait - who made a cake's face?
These employees are so NERVOUS! If I were meant to examine such small details that can have such a large impact, I'd be dead in half a day or less.

Not in my experience. I love cake 😋
Thanks for your comment, we all wouldn’t have been able to figure it out 🤦🏼
Which dimwit out the expensive flowers at a height where you can’t even see them.

This is real. I met 2 of the most horrible persons in my life in Lidl. They were at the bottom materially and spiritually.

Aye to that even Aldi doesn't seem like a discount store

The baker is quite a pretentious jerk. She is getting paid lots of money maybe be kind & helpful.
Am so happy Sainsbury's didn't get there way as asda is so different from Sainsbury's asda is a lot cheaper my heart would bleed if we lost asda
I have 0% of the thoughts they think the average consumer thinks walking into their stores..

Sainsburys isn't really on the HighSt though is it? They are in retail, but mainly retail parks.

The factory produced cakes are a disaster in most supermarkets, even in the cafeteria. They just can't seem to get them right.
This is from the before times. Before covid
Cake woman is so pretentious. Obviously you can’t mass produce a hand made cake! What did she expect
I agree. It's kind of silly but I know the UK is very serious about their sponge.
Well, she did design Megan and Harry’s cake. Not surprised they chose her
Watching Affer COVID and honestly glad celery in plastic bag. Hygiene.
Quality at sainsburys has drastically dropped in the last 10 years….SAD.
Also, they’re very greedy with profit margins…very SAD
Ghe worse company to ever work gor
@@kayleighturnerwoking6539 Asda is even worse but that’s the state of the world….greedy corporations
Before the Pandemic, Sainsburys margins were declining and even went negative.
You're lucky to get above 2% in this hyper competitive market.

They ruined Argos, I'm glad they didn't get asda

41:20 good grief, what a terrible non answer. Bro should go into politics.
Moral is: Mike failed.
