FF16 is on another level than every other game that releases this year, the story will be fcking epic and heartbreaking, it's one of the best looking games ever, the gameplay will be masterfully refined, the ost will be a epic banger, it's already confirmed to be extremely replayable, it looks like one of the best games ever made 😭❤
FF16 is going to be flames and definitely a candidate for GOTY. But to me there's another game thats coming out in a few months that blows it outta the water. And thats Baldurs Gate 3.
oh c'mon it wasn't THAT bad lol. Sure it went through development hell, and the pacing of the second half was absolute trash, but there was a diamond in the rough if you look really hard ... maybe
I can confidently agree FF16 will knock it out of the park and be foolproof GOTY material this year but I cannot agree with an example you showed at the start. Not every game sequel turned out better than its predecessor. The last of us 2 was terrible compared to TLOU 1 and every single popular reviewer says the same. Some say they butchered the story, some say not innovative enough compared to the 1st one, etc etc.

BOTW take it 2017 and there was no high score games and ff16 deserve to be the GOTY because this game taking all ps5 powerful not zelda only DLC and 19fps!!
@Vergil Ops also unfortunately Final Fantasy isn't really paid attention too buy the casual audience if u watch casual reactions to ps5 showcase they all thin new trailer is assassins creed and then get disappointed when they find out its ff
