Good job! You will have a wonderful ride when you're finished. Brings back memories following your project. I had a daily driver Turquoise '63 T-Bird in the mid/late 1970s. Loved that car! Wish I still had it. 😃😃

Thank you sir! That is awesome! I almost wish I could have been alive then so I could have seen all those old cars still being used, cars had so much character back then!

Thank you sir, really appreciate the comment! That's part of the reason I am making this series, I am hoping to give people some inspiration to work on these old cars, because if I can do it, anyone can!

Hello Angell. Real nice restoration on those doors. The previous owner sure did a number on them. I also liked the paint stripping tool you used to get the paint off. That was a lot of work! Nice going.

Hey family Thunderbird guy here again. You do not believe how much people say its not worth restoring my Thunderbird. But yours is arguably worse. You are doing good work. Keep it up! Your Thunderbird will look great. Thank you! ❤

Thank you the kind comment sir! Many folks just see the financial side of things when it comes to restoring a car, and yes a proper restoration will always cost more than the car is worth, but we aren’t restoring these cars to make money, we are doing it because these are cool cars and we love putting them back on the road 👍🏻

Your attention to detail is admirable. If you do the whole car with this much attention you will have a beautiful car when finished. BTW I took my first drivers test when I was 16 with my Uncle's '63 Landau T-Bird. I've since owned two '63's and a 61 but sadly don't have them anymore.I look forward to watching future videos.

Thank you sir! I am certainly going to do my best to give the whole car this much attention to detail! Also that is very neat how you have had so many T-birds in your life!

Well... I've watched the five episodes so far on this build and it's not only been a great restoration, but also highly entertaining, and although I'm a Chevrolet fan, I love all old cars, from all brands, so you got a new sub! Looking forward to the nex episode on this Thunderbird!
    Cheers from Argentina!

Great videos and details about the project. Have you been able to find all the weatherstripping? I was back order for almost a year then ecklers canx the order.

Thank you sir! So last year I did get a weatherstrip kit from Concours Parts. That kit has most of the weatherstrip, but not everything. I will still need to get some pieces like the felt strips for the windows. Actually parts are starting to become harder to find, both Concours and the Birds Nest have told me that they can’t get a lot of parts anymore from their suppliers. It seems that their suppliers are dealing with supply chain shortages, and because of that, those suppliers are focusing on making parts only for the more common/popular cars to restore like Mustangs and Galaxies. There is a lot of Thunderbird parts suppliers (Birds Nest, Concours, Thunderbird Headquarters, Larry’s Thunderbird) so definitely call around and see. Worst case scenario, might have to resort to finding NOS parts on eBay. Good luck on your search!

I think you're doing a great resto and nice presentation videos! Do you anticipate any color matching with the exterior parts being painted separately? I realize you don't have any pearls or flake in the paint to match up panel wise, but is the color easily matched the way you are doing it? Just curious, thanks.

Thank you sir! So when I bought the paint for the car, I went ahead and bought 2 gallons of base coat at the same time. That way the paint company would make them at the same time so they would (hopefully) be the same. Not only that, but when I mix up the paint, especially for the outside panels, I use equal parts of paint from both cans, that way if there was a difference, they would mix together and become the same color. I am friends with a professional painter and that is his trick for getting everything to match. But that would be my advice, get all the paint (the color anyway) at the same time, that way you can mix it together for each paint job and guarantee that everything will match!

good job but to be definitively efficient, you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient against rust. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic). For rear wings unreachable with a paintbrush, use an extender and poor old oil everywhere each year.Handyman Experience - 35 years. From france

Thanks for the advice sir, I really appreciate it! I think I am going to go back over all the internal frame areas with some 3M Cavity Wax for some extra protection. The Cavity Wax is a petroleum based product, so I imagine it should offer very similar corrosion protection as grease and oil. But you are definitely right about grease and oil, my dad's new project car (1981 Mustang) had a pretty bad oil leak from the engine. It caked up everywhere in the engine bay and on the bottom of the car. It was messy, but not an ounce of rust to be found!

@@AngellsGarage happy to be usefull. Rust almost always comes from the inside and welds
