I don't know where Nissan is heading in the future but for now in the present i'm just happy to see that they are still producing a performance 2 door car by introducing a new member of the Z-car lineage powered by a twin turbo DOHC 3.0-liter v-6 but specially to still have an option of 3 pedals, something that is sadly starting to dissapear.

The fact there’s a Nissan ad on this vid makes it so much better
Love how consistent Nolan is with these weekly vids! Great content as always.
They started getting better 2016/2017 and it's been getting better since then
I found this recent history of Nissan fascinating. I knew there had been some issues, but I didn't know it was that ugly. I have been viciously loyal to Nissan since I owned a '05 Sentra that I HATED, but the stupid little car just wouldn't die (until it was totalled by a drunk driver). I was sold, at that point, on Nissan for ruggedness and reliability, even if the car was pathetically slow and the seats hurt my back.
When I started driving rideshare in 2018, I wanted to offer premium rides and I needed a car that was comfortable enough for me to sit in for 10-12 hours at a time. I headed straight to Nissan's upmarket brand, Infiniti. Because the recent poor reputation plummets their resale values, I got a nicely equipped 2014 QX60 for VERY cheap. The car tolerated 2000+ miles a week of bouncing around rough city streets, constant stopping/starting, and thousands of doors slamming, without breaking a sweat until it too was totalled by a drunk driver (I'm blessed to be alive). I replaced it with a FULLY loaded 2015 QX60 and discovered a fantastic refresh to the CVT from '14-'15. I still beat the car to death, and the rugged Nissan underpinnings refuse to fail me (well, with the exception of the STUPID VVCS, but that's not exclusive to Nissan. Check my channel for a video about it).
As much as I love my car, it DOES feel like a car from 2013. I'm happy to see the major redesign coming for the Pathfinder, which means that the QX60 will change with it. I'm concerned about them abandoning the CVT. My car shifts like a cream puff when making the gradual changes between "gears" and the earlier issues of chatter or slow manual shifts seem to be worked out of it.
I agree with Nolan. Nissan's future looks bright. I'm eager to see how it goes.
wait so you were the drunk driver?!
@@LeoMkII absolutely not! I don't even drink! No, I just seem to have an invisible target painted on me that only irresponsible drunken reprobates can see.
@Dale Macarena ➊ They were, but some drastic improvements were made. I can't speak about the Sentra, because I don't know if it has the same CVT as the Pathfinder/QX60. Pre-2015, Pathfinders and QX60's were prone to chattering under acceleration because the CVT belt would slip. My 2014 QX60 didn't have that issue, but it did shift sluggishly in manual mode, and sport mode was certainly not "sporty".
My 2015 QX60 is an AMAZING improvement! It's buttery smooth moving between "gears". In sport mode it's snappy and SLAMS its way between them, giving the car a serious kick in the butt at each "shift". Manual mode has no third pedal, but it's still fun, which is the opposite of how it was in my 2014.
@Dale Macarena CVTs are garbage, especially Nissans. They said & even sent a letter to owners claiming they made improvements but tons of people still have had issues. If you don't yet, it's a matter of time. There is a lawsuit for up to certain '17 cars for the CVT Transmission. Idk about anything real new from them but hopefully it's gotten better
Finally we have a new Z, next a new GT-R and then bring back the S platform. We need a new Silvia to complete the holy trinity

You should explain the CVT problem better instead of just making all CVT's sound bad. Toyota and Honda build their CVT's with a "launch gear" that greatly increases their strength and makes them less likely to break/fail than the non launch-geared Nissant Jatco CVT's.

Part of Japanese culture I highly dislike is how often there is strength in conviction and stubbornness, even if wrong, and the commonness of plotting and saying terrible things behind peoples' back's as a result of highly non-confrontational nature. The "nail that sticks out gets hammered" idea is also highly damaging to their society due to how much homogeny it has created, stripping individuality.
There's a lot of dysfunctional toxicity deeply embedded that needs to be rooted and tossed out, because the social, interpersonal aspect of Japanese society is seeing the brunt of the impact of this.

I just hope Nissan will still have one basic car in its lineup in Canada. They are good at making them.
You missed the "Click Clack" sound at 10:30
I just hope that new Z make it to EU market in like 2-3 years with some tweaks to get emission limits.
Awwww it's not coming to the EU? Lame
Can't wait until somebody makes a z32 headlight conversion for this zed.
I miss mine, even if it wasn't a TT
zed huhh ??? your my mate, mate.
@@MutheiM_Marz I refuse to call my z32 "zee" its zed.
@@nunyabusiness5275 im sorry your had to part with yours but I will never sell mine. ...............until my kids turn 16 my cars not killing my son that bitch is gone!
How about a whole new restyle for the Z35 that embodies the Z32. That would be perfect.
Carlos is Ghosn leave him alone. Love the videos glad to see the Z still have the manual transmission.
3:00 One of the most common cars here in Latin america is the Nissan B13, a literal shitbox that a lot of people love/hate, it has been a fleet car here since forever
My notif tapping speed is insane anyways petition to do a Yodas tacos wrap on the hi low series trucks
I think it’d be dope if Nissan came out with a new version of the Xterra. That truck was pretty cool.
This is such a good time for sports cars. The new 86 is looking great. Same with the z and Integra. Mustang is In a good spot. Corvette is sick. I would sell my first born for a new scat pack charger. I'm just saying. Almost every relevant company has something to offer and I actually finally have the MO ry to get something cool! Just gotta figure out which one. Z is definitely up there.
so true. only major disappointment for me has been the new, more bloated than ever, Subie WRX. hope theyll make a turn-around soon
Juke gets flack, but I love the juke. Handles nice, the turbo is great on the highway and the awd traverses my super long snowy driveway when needed. I also love the styling 🤷🏻♂️
Day 216 of asking James to do an uptospeed on himself
Its reviving well in India too with Magnite.
Price isn't bad at all. If you compair it based on power alone. A 98 viper GTS making 450hp would set you back 80k+. So 400hp for 40k ish... Thats on point
Nissan went through a similar styling challenge mid 90s - they always looked more stylish than Toyotas of that era, and then 1996ish all their cars looked like cockroaches. Then they swung back around with good styling for a few years and landed again is plain car land. The cycle of Nissan.
Path of my own - the new full feature series, where he is put in the south american mountains of chile to find his way back home :3
We get a new Z, Nolan wishes for the GT-R R36.
I want to see the comeback of the S chassis. Pretty sure a lot more people than i think are patiently waiting for a possible 200SX S16.
I'm back again here after they announced the new GTR, while I'm happy they're still making it and didn't botch the design, it's a little disappointing it barely looks any different from the older version 😮💨 some of those R35 fan renders looked so promising of what it could be
The Japanese actually teach Carlos ghosn's business practices at their universities and they actually made a cartoon about him. But the problem with Nissan is their terrible quality in general after just a couple of years u feel the car is ancient and falling a part
The problems with the VR30 engine. Gone through three sets of turbos and a new block. Cheap turbos and porus block problems is pretty common with it
Their new models are wow. Hope they r reliable as the 1990 s Nissans
Btw Ashwani Gupta is COO. Makoto Uchida is still the CEO of Nissan, so the only CEO that left after Ghosn got arrested was Hiroto Saikawa.
Weird that the previous generation of Frontier was designed at the same year when I was born.
I love the 400...I just wish they brought the 2+2 back. The dogs want my girlfriend to ride with us
I would love for them to start paying more attention to their luxury brand, Infiniti. It’s sad to see that they put more innovative tech into their lower-end vehicles than they do on Infiniti.
Take the new QX55. Brand new- still no dash screen, running on a CVT and so much more.
Trur
Sadly, I think infiniti is in really rough shape their sales have been on a steady decline
@@iLikeTrainsXx
I agree. Sad because it’s such a good brand with so much potential. Back then, it was better than Lexus. Not anymore
Now those of those with a family can I get a 2+2. Don't have very many options with power handling at a good price. Now I know my 2011 S5 is good. But I would like a rear wheel drive that isn't a BMW or Mercedes.
Did I just get a 400z ad at 9:56 😂
Ngl the first thing i saw was 240z when the z was revieled and i love it
7:15
Thats a 2005 Nissan Frontier ... Its been the same interior and exterior since 2005
I work at a Nissan dealership and in 2014 through 2016, Nissan was the fastest growing company in Canada, and it suddenly tanked lol
the Z is a start saw it out at SEMA i was impressed with it. but god their regular car lineup is awful horrendous cvt's in them I remember owning my sentra back in 2006 so many ppl owned them almost equal to the civic at that time. The GT-R is next to get a new look
