- Abhayaranyam Guest House - this guest house is located inside the deep Mudumalai forest. This is operated by Tamil Nadu Forest Dept. Deers, Wild Boar, Peacocks are see any time around it. Elephants and Bears do visit during night. Avoid keeping fruits or any eatables inside the car as elephants may break vehicles’ window glass at the night. The morning view is amazing. There are 3 benches to spend time and glass viewpoint and a hill above the stay. The food prepared by Forest Officials was tasty and pocket friendly..

Thanks for the video, informational. Planning to travel with my 4 year old, wanted to know How far is Abhayaranyam from the reception and theppakadu elephant camp ? what if we are not travelling by car? is the distance walkable?
This whole area is Forest. Try not to move away from crowd. If I remember this guest house is 7-10 kms from teppakadu

There were some busses and jeeps. We are not really sure if they stop there. Better, opt for stay in Teppkadu only. You don’t have to move around. Link in description to book.

I'm a solo traveller, how to reach there from ooty and which room should I book ? Can I get any bus for my return journey to coimbatore ?
Any bus from Ooty to Mysore need to go in this route. Hope you can get down. However check once before you plan.

We spotted many elephants, langoors, wild dog, deers, wild boars, peacocks and Malabar gaint squirrels🐿 on journey. It was not raining much when we visited. You can consider visiting as it is not raining heavily

don,t like to see elephant chained......that is call cruelty to an animal .....must be lots of stupid people who are afraid of their own shadow run this place.
Horrible experience this Christmas. Ill maintained premise with no guarantee of safety from Govt. Avoid this place if you have kids or mid aged persons who may develop medical complications. The annexe 2 building is completely detached from the caretakers after 6 pm with no facility to call them in case of need.The toilet flushes not working and water runs dry from evening. Its like you are trapped in a hostile area. Non co-operative staff at night and horrible food. Must avoid place and dont get carried away by blogs who will always appreciate places just to get views and subscribers. Stating clear drawbacks as information is also a responsibility for a good blogger.

We do experience vlogs and we share our experiences whether it is good, bad or ugly.
Our stay was fine and we tatsted food prepared by them and care taker was next to us when ever we reached him by calling on phone and it was working day we visited.
First of all it is dense forest, one can not experience lavish lifestyle and care takers next to us always that too during year end. Consider visiting lavish resort instead.
First of all, views does not matter when ever some one talking if it not even good Or bad.
It is also mentioned in the video that it is budget Forest stay and can not expect more as in the jungle resort which is priced at 15k.
So, don’t generalise your experiences with others.
