11:05, your facial expression when you say there is an elephant right there is so natural n priceless. Shows how genuine you are
I have stayed in abhayaranram 6 times both in main and annexe cottages. My first visit was in 2010 and the last was in 2020.No one wud be knowing about this cottage 10 yrs ago. It was a heaven and now it became too commercial having said that still it's a great place to stay. I ve seen elephants, deers, bison right in front of the house. If one has the patience to hang in for long time in the watch tower during the nights there are more chances of sporting leopard/tiger.Thanks for bringing the memories.
Thanks for sharing your experience, and good to know about your sightings. And as I was about to leave there was a lot of deer and bonnet macaque alarm calls come right next to the kitchen area in the forest, but even from the watch tower, I couldn't see anything. Definitely there was some carnivore movement since the alarm calls were there for a good 20 minutes.
@@Shreyas.Ranganath yeah u r right. I remember one of the guests sharing his experience on spotting a leopard on a tree right behind the annexe cottage.

Beautiful India!! I'm here in Atlanta, GA watching, would love to visit. Just subscribed. Also, fascinated by the tiger narratives.
Thank you 🙂 Your comment reminded me of my visit to Atlanta and the good memories I have from there.

Does rest house conduct safari???

Amazing place👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻..we stayed there last year and saw a leopard during safari. Also heard the sound of a tiger and alarm calls in night(around 2-3 A.M). We stayed in tiger suite near theppakkad. Great place!
Thanks 🙂 and That's good to know, seems you had an exciting time as well 🙂👍
@@Shreyas.Ranganath Yes absolutely😊
It’s just amazing the videos you upload I enjoy be seeing the beautiful jungles I watch every videos of yours, Sir could you please me the best forest to stay couple days so that we can see the all wild animals in this November month.
That's good to know, thanks 🙂 try Bandipur, it's good place.
I am surprised none of the South Indian Government forest rest houses that you have been staying in inside the jungles seem to have any major protection in terms of a ditch around them or a basic electric fence. Every one of the North Indian guest houses I have stayed in at various tiger reserves have these and many are extremely good in terms of their hospitality. I could enumerate some of my favourites like Dhikala , Bijrani, Gharial, Sultan , Saradpuli , Khinnauli . But then I guess it's also because of the predator density in Corbett and other parks . Corbett as per the last census has over 345 tigers and on most nights you can hear them roar outside several times. And alarm calls are throughout the night in all of these places.
Actually in Bandipur and mudumalai guest houses there have been instances of tigers walking right outside the guest house. In Bandipur, the FD do patrolling every couple of hours at night just to check if any animals have come close to the guest houses, there are videos of elephants right next to guest houses. Visitors are strictly advised not to venture out of guest house at night. So guest house has a mesh cover for sitouts.
And regarding hearing the tigers roar at night, must have been a fantastic experience, I love hearing the roar, just heard it once in Nagarahole. Only thing about Corbett, it's extremely crowded and many vehicles even during safaris.
@s.Ranganath While every ones favourite is Dhikala and that is almost impossible to get unless you have the right connections , I would suggest try Gharial or Bijrani.. These places all also have spectacular scenery thrown in ( And believe me when I say this while I appreciate the ones you have been showcasing these places that I have stayed at are so out of the world that sometimes I have had difficulty believing I am actually still in India ) and as for wildlife. I am not trying to impress but I have never returned from Corbett even once without seeing a tiger. And on my last trip in December ( Winter ) I was parked in a safari jeep across the Ramganga river in Dhikala and with nothing to do I decided to count a herd of elephants on the other shore where there are humungous grasslands. And in 30 minutes I counted 214 members. Now try and imagine that.. 😊
That's great to know, yes, i need to plan for Corbett.
@@Shreyas.Ranganath Do winter in Corbett. December - January - February. The elephant herds will be mind boggling in size. Of course. You have to be prepared too because temperature will be around 2 degrees or lesser. 😄
@@Shreyas.Ranganath In summer they migrate into Chitwan in Nepal.
@shreyas ranganath, Sir, thank you for this video. I guess we can book a stay at this place online. But how to book a safari? Im from Mumbai and plan to visit this place. Do I need to book safari before visiting the place? Thanks in advance.
Hello Harshal, Safari can only be booked at the office in theppakadu and if you go there an hour before you will get tickets no issue with that. And regarding this stay, it's in the middle of jungle and please keep that in mind. Btw theppakadu is the place where you need to show your stay booking before proceeding to your respective stays in mudumalai.
@Shreyas Ranganath Really appreciate your input. Thank you sir.
Kindly share the video link f masinagudi resort .. I didn't find it in the playlist

@@Shreyas.Ranganath Sir, I am planning to visit on 3rd Feb, 2024. I am from Kolkata. My son is studying in Bangalore. Booked a safari and wish to book this place for one night stay with family. Hope to get your valuable suggestions.
Ok, good to know. Enjoy your stay. This place can be booked online on their new website - www.mudumalaitigerreserve.com/PlanYourVisit/Programme?type=6464b1c86605e7d25ff69eb2&category=6461f51e362e04365be5c3af&name=Abhayaranyam%20Annex%20I
Just keep in mind this stay is inside the forest, and you don't have any activities, after 7 pm you can't roam around the campus, since there can be wildlife activity close by.
Can you please let me know the website from where we can book the stay online? The one which I can find does not have option to book online
Please check here - www.mudumalaitigerreserve.com/PlanYourVisit/Programme?type=6464b1c86605e7d25ff69eb2&category=6461f51e362e04365be5c3af&name=Abhayaranyam%20Annex%20I
@@Shreyas.Ranganath I have checked this but there is no option to book here. Is there any other way?
Did you login to the site and check, it should be possible, I booked in same site, however it was slightly different at the time.
@@Shreyas.Ranganath Yes I have created an account and logged in. There is no option to book online. Also there is a note - This Programme is not available for online Booking. Not sure what the issue is.
Oh ok, maybe they have changed now. Can you try calling their office and check.
Hey Shreyas,
I am planning to stay in Masinagudi. Will the cottage be sufficient for 4 people?
Yes, there are 3-4 rooms, plz check the capacity before booking. Guess the room in first floor will accommodate 4.
@@Shreyas.Ranganath Awesome. Let's catch up. I am based in Bangalore. Rajajinagar to be precise.

Nice to know Zaira 👍
I watched all of your videos in the past week and here is my feedback. You can move your camera anytime anywhere you want but not to the point it hurts my eyes and gives me headache. Watch Harold Boldr and bald and bankrupt channels. They move their camera a lot but the movement never gives me headaches nor hurts my eyes. Learn from them. Also to make your videos cinematic, watch learn online videos channel and grow. Also cut the music. It kills joy. You can show yourself but not too much because you are not hemamalini. Focus on story and talk but less. Although you are genuine which is great but you are low energy which is not inspiring so pump some energy in to you and and your narration skill. And keep sharing on social media and you will have 10,000 subscribers in 6 months. Good luck!
First of all thanks for taking the time and watching all the videos, and also providing some sincere feedback. Regarding camera movement, hopefully my new cam equipment should handle the shake better. Regarding showing myself, am not a fan of filming myself either, but I face to camera when I try to narrate something, and I see all vloggers do that, But I like the hemamalini comment 🙂. On energy levels I know I need to work on that, but it's partly due to my camera shyness, and hope it gets better with time. Thanks again. I will make sure to check out those channels you mentioned.
@@Shreyas.Ranganath also notice the Sony camera Harold and bald use. It looks old school and not expensive but far better than GoPro camera. Videos look normal but with GoPro you look like hummpty dumpty. Trapezium! Well that has been my experience.
@@Shreyas.Ranganath also use Mike so I can hear you at volume 10. Because right now I can only hear you on TV at volume 30 and the problem with this is when your music comes it blast my ears. So extra loud the music. I am surprised that you went to dhimbam from Kollegal but you did not cover 3 action sites on the way. Between locanali and dhimbam it’s about 50km. If I remember correctly not far from lokanali the site where KA forces a local boy to show him maneater location and he was left standing by a tree and was killed by the maneater not far from the road. Next is the location of the ramapuram maneater . When you reach Byloor forest check post in Karnataka you are about 5 km away from geremala forest check post in Tamil naidu. Some where in between is a police check post. Between the Byloor forest check post and police check post was shot the maneater. He talked about a tree on a glade by the roadside where he shot but the glade may not be there but keep looking. Then the last site at dhimbam where the Muslim man lost one of his wives to a maneater by the stream down there. I guess there is a resort where the man’s tea stall was.
Also you are making a huge mistake by spending no more than 6 seconds at the site of action. Don’t do that. Spend at least 6 minutes by shooting from 8 different angles and one drone shot. This is important for a climax. Ok best wishes
Hello, regarding the Mike, yes I need to get one, get your point and will see if I can nornalize the sound before exporting. And seems you follow Kenneth pretty well 👍, and I plan to follow up on ramapuram tiger on another day. The Sathyamangalam drive was a causal drive only. And I get that point on spending more time 👍 but drone was not possible since it's forest areas and it's not allowed.
@@Shreyas.Ranganath yes wireless mike. If I weren’t a KA fan why would I binge watch your videos? Yes you guess right. When you move your camera from side to side, don’t shake like amateur camera man coz I think this is what gives me headaches by hurting my eyes. Give it a smooth move. Thanks for trying your best to entertain us esp on KA sites. Best
Horrible experience this Christmas. Ill maintained premise with no guarantee of safety from Govt. Avoid this place if you have kids or mid aged persons who may develop medical complications. The annexe 2 building is completely detached from the caretakers after 6 pm with no facility to call them in case of need. The toilet flushes not working and water runs dry from evening. Its like you are trapped in a hostile area. Non co-operative staff at night and horrible food. Must avoid place and dont get carried away by blogs just to get views and subscribers.
Hello Animesh, first of all, my vlogs are about my experiences of my trips, and i am not promoting any places. It's upto people who want to go and visit the places. There have been some people who went to this place and thanked me because they loved the place. I personally never faced any issues during my stay, there was a married couple who came there on their bike with a 3 year old kid and enjoyed the stay. This place is in the middle of the jungle, and you go there to experience that atmosphere. If you were expecting resort like facilities and ambience, then the expectations were incorrect. Regarding food, what i was served was great, and the caretakers are in the building next to annexe and they even serve dinner to the dining area. This place has wild elephant visits regularly, and i had also reported about carnivore movement in the area. What can one expect from a place which is in the middle of the jungle. Maybe you hadn't watched my vlog before going, and stop blaming others vlogs as if i personally recommended you to go to this place.
Btw, fyi - the flush was working for me as well.
