I picked these up last year, based on your review. I like them, I think your spot on with all your input on them. I put them on my Super Pig M and they work well together. That board is fast and charges hard or not at all and these bindings keep up. Ride east coast crap snow and no probs with the setup on ice and death turds. Just picked up a Yes Basic for a more versatile ride and gonna see how these bindings will make the switch. Looking at bent metal transfers or Rome Vice to match with the board if I like it enough to keep. Thanks bro, you're my go to on the reviews
I have like 20 days on the C8 and the straps still feel just as sticky. It's just the one ankle strap. It gets stuck when trying to release every time. Might loosen over time, but I haven't notice any change. I'm at a smaller mountain for I'm unstrapping a ton per day. Anecdotal, but I thought I would share. Great bindings other then that.
I think I would like the aluminum base plate, they look comfy for a stiff binding, I might look into these. I'm not usually a fan of aluminum either.
Got these and the way the high back sits in the heel cup was too narrow for my vans verse boots. Had to return. Just a warning out there for those with slightly beefier heels on their boots. I didn’t think mine were extra wide or anything but they still didn’t fit.
Always good to see your content. Don’t suppose you’re doing (or have done) any vids on set up of bindings?
Searching is hard. ruclips.net/video/qK3eIl-vObU/видео.html
@@AngrySnowboarder I was hoping there was a step 2. Setting your high backs and foot beds. Just seems like bindings have a lot of settings to choose from. I think I’ve done it correctly based on what I’ve read/watched but could always learn more.
This is the way I look at it, trial and error forcing you to think creatively and analytically to get an end result is good. If you can't do that then you should just pay the shop to set everything up for you and never worry about it again. After all operating a screw driver is hard.
@@AngrySnowboarder luckily I have opposable thumbs!
I think I’m still a newbie and possibly don’t know what good really looks like. More days on the snow this coming season so more time to try different shit.
Between the A6 and A8, which binding would be a better match for a Burton Skeleton Key? All-mountain, trees, freeriding with an occasional park lap.
8
I ride the Mountain Pig and Super Pig regularly (40+ days a season between the 2) with Vans Infuse Boots, I ride all mountain mainly and love carving while also searching for side hits and love riding trees plus utah powder days. I've watched all the reviews on the C6, A6, C8, and A8, what would your recommendation be for regular use out of those 4 to pair with my 2 pig series boards? I have never rode on aluminum based bindings but am curious about them, I previously had Burton Malavitas that I loved the comfort of. Thanks in advance!
C8
I just got these bindings. I got them for my carving snowboard. They have a lot of forward lean which is why I picked them. The ratchets feel pretty strong. The biggest down side to this binding is that the main ankle strap DOES NOT have any padding and wow you can really feel it dig into your boot. All my other bindings have padding and I was concerned about the lack of padding at first but the plastic it’s made out of looked like was shaped very nicely so I thought it would be soft. Completely wrong. That main ankle strap has some crush points.
Flip the strap.
Just got the a8's. I wear size 14 boot and my heel is going to be overhanging a lot. Is that gonna be an issue? Will it be comfortable?
Center your bindings and adjust accordingly.
I'm thinking of pairing these with the Amplid Surfari. I will be moving out to CO this year, am 150lbs intermediate/advanced rider, and want a new setup that will let me have the most fun in bowls, forest/trees, and still carve on days where fresh pow is at a minimum. Do you think this is a solid setup?
Hell yeah I do.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thank you for all your help and reviews, they've been amazing! Keep it angry, and see you out there!
This or A10 for Jones Flagship for hard charging, carving and powder? No park, some smaller jumps and sidehits. Got a second board for more all Mountain/Freestyle days, when I don‘t need that much power. Thanks!
If you want straight power go 10, but the 8 is the better match up.
Thanks!
Which of the old bindings would this be the replacement of?
Rodeo.
After you steered me to the superpig which I purchased. I was thinking paring the a8 with them or use my existing union atlas. Any suggestions on the a8 or others?
It's kind of your call.
@@AngrySnowboarder would you say the atlas and a8 are very similar and overlapping?
Same category but different rides. The Ride is more damp overall, Atlas has a stiffer highback and more power in it.
Hi, I bought these bindings the other day they are 23/24 models. Did you have any trouble fitting these bindings? The back binding is extremely hard to get the screws started using a lot of downward force. Front binding is not as bad. Tried it on a different board same problem so I don’t think it’s the board deck being uneven. I think the binding tray could be bent or faulty.
Have you had this problem or heard of before?
Thank you
Be a man use some muscle.
How do you measure bindings to find the size? Do I have to screw them of the board and look at the bottom of the binding?
Right by the toe or heel there's usually some marking that says the size.
@@AngrySnowboarder thank you
Hey, I have been rocking the Ride Rodeos for a few seasons and I like them a lot more than my union forces (I agree with your review they’re not good at all and I will be selling them).
I’m thinking about getting a new pair of bindings for this season. But I’m not sure which ones to get. I want to give the union stratas a go but I’m nervous the dead spot will be too much vs what I’m used too on the rodeos.
I love how the rodeos feel but the quality of the bindings is sub-par. The screws are always coming loose and the heel cup always shifts (by this I mean after every day riding, sometimes even in the middle of the day they need tightening). I am an aggressive hard rider that likes to go big so might exacerbate the problem. I also snapped the aluminium chassis on one pair but they did warranty them.
I hate how the union forces feel. High back was too stiff for me unless your charging the mountain but horrible in the park. The dead spot was way too big felt horrible to ride vs the rodeos, made the board feel like a door. However, the adjustability & quality of the unions blew me away vs the rodeos. So I’m thinking about trying the union stratas to get the quality & adjustability that I like from union. What’s the dead spot like on the stratas?
Then obviously ride have changed their line up so would the bindings most similar to the rodeo be the A-8 but with a rodeo high back?
What are your thoughts?
Sorry long question(s), would appreciate a more explained answer since I know you usually reply with short answers 😂
Ps Love your honest content and actually explain products a lot better than others
Stay golden
I should also add that I live in New Zealand and union and ride binding are well stocked here vs a lot of other brands hence why I’m drawn to them a bit more.
Also do you know if my old rodeo high backs fit the A8?
Stratas have a mini disk so more play underfoot.
Been riding the ride rodeos for years as well now, but I absolutely loved them, i loved the flex of the highback and playfulness with the rigidity of the aluminum chassis, but also looking at a new binding now because i also broke the aluminum chassis just now. I was looking at the Bent Metal Axtion or transfer, the ride a-8 or c-8 or Rome 390 boss or dod. Knowing how long my ride rodeo lasted I want to continue riding an aluminum binding but then again a lot of bindings nowadays are mostly composites. anyways, have you found a binding yet?
@@Snowcopa no I haven’t found a binding yet. My rodeos are still in pretty good condition (only used for about half a season since I got the warranty, which you should look into!) but I want to keep them on my free ride board and get something else for my park deck which I’ll be riding more. I’m going to sell my forces and probably buy stratas to see if I like them. If not I’ll sell them and use my rodeos. Then will be back at the drawing board haha
I just got the Ride Warpig. I'm torn between Ride A8, Ride C6, or Union Force Bindings. Which do you think is the best match? I like to ride the whole resort with only a lap or two in the park. Mostly cruising and hitting side hits and rollers. Thanks,
A8.
Tight new neon logo
New?
@@AngrySnowboarder the animated neon is newish or new to me..looks like Miami vice/grand theft auto and it pops. New to me I guess😁
@@tequilablanco9 Clearly you don't pay attention to the hundreds of videos that have it.
@@AngrySnowboarder No I do, but half the time my eyes are closed as I am laughing hard!
would you say this feels stiffer than the c8?
It’s more rigid underfoot
@@AngrySnowboarder thank you
so I was between Union Atlas and Ride C-8 and you just confused my mind right now.
Sounds like a personal problem.
Algorithm boosting comment
I think like people only comment on your videos in hopes to get verbally (scriptically?) abused
Some people pay good money for that.
C8>A8?
Personal preference.
I have both. Both are great.
@@AngrySnowboarder which one do you think is better for the super pig?
@@AngrySnowboarder similar to sketchybean i too would be interested in your opinion on this for the Superpig. I was originally between the Atlas and katana but now I'm leaning towards these.
ETHE is looking interesting, but I did a little COIN coinbase. They sell people crypto on their site. All volatile stuff, caution.
