It’s still pretty crazy to me that you daily upload and have two little kids! That’s commitment!
Yo, new to boarding and you have been a huge help to me progressing. Thank you.
Hows the progression been going
What?!?! You rode that sweet Tony Hawk board on rails!!!! I thought that was going to be a collectible for you.
Thank you for the tips! A great confidence boost
Killing it with the daily uploads
Thanks 🙏🏼
Just bought my very first snowboard!! This video was super helpful thank you 🙏🏻
Just got new ones for Christmas thanks man!
Thank you for this video man
Nice, I've got k2 party platter and it's awesome
Had to go back and watch an older video. I needed some more today. 👍from another daily upload (live) content maker!
I really needed this video
Heck yeah
Oh wow! So sick
Thanks
Hey when are binding bags back in stock or do you plan to??
Have you tryed sp fastech bindings?
Hi, what stance you use in inches?
Any screwdriver tool kit recommend? thx!
do you adjust (rotate, not forward lean) the highback to be in line with the heel edge or not?
I have heard you want your highback rotational angle in line with the heel edge for sure
I've got a question dude, my right knee points outwards at 45 degrees, from accident, so back foot shall I angle that binding to match because standard hurts my fibularis muscle a lot is that an issue
@@thedude5510 lead foot is fine back foot points outwards because of way knee healed put in perspective left points at 11;30 right points at like 2 o'clock
Are you able to do a giveaway of those Clew bindings? I probably wouldn’t win but would love a pair lol.
Not a regular here but I stopped by to find an answer to a question I have. My bindings have an adjustment where I can move them to the left or right of the centerline, do I want to have the same toe overhang as I do heel overhang? Thanks in advance.
Yep - the boots should be as close to centred as possible.
Nice guide. I don't agree with the comments about posi posi not being recommended and only being for racers or hardbooters. That's not true at all - there are plenty of posi posi softboot riders on the mountain. I'm one of them.
Me too. Most people don’t ride switch enough to justify a duck stance and I have way more control with posi posi, especially at high speed.
Could u please to a top 10 parks in Europe to visit
I haven’t road in Europe yet 😬
@@JohnathanBuckhouse you haven't road the colorado yet...
100 like yesss
So am I supposed to buy a squat rack in order to set up my bindings? How much weight should I use? I want this to be as accurate as possible. I also heard that negative lean on the back part of binding is very good too. My friend says you carve better. He even took his off! What are your thoughts?
what is this comment
Negative lean is not a thing on any highback I've ever seen but anyway it wouldn't help you carve - carving needs good and rapid edge initiation and for that you need some forward lean. As for having no highback at all - well some riders do ride like that sometimes. It gives a more surfy ride that a few people like. Again, not for carving.
My bindings have alot of holes in the discs how do i install those they are System MTN Men's 2024 Rear Entry Step in Style Snowboard Bindings
I would have to see the base plate to know 🤔 Send me a photo on Instagram
@@JohnathanBuckhouse ok they arrive tomorrow so i can then
I have a question do u keep getting new snowboards until u find one u really like? Or are j just flexing
I keep getting snowboards sent to me so I am just riding them all 🤘🏼
@@JohnathanBuckhouse "pro"flex
how important are boots? would i be fine wearing regular snow boots or do i need some specifically for snowboarding?
Lol you have to have snowboard boots, and don’t buy what people tell you to buy. Your new so get a boot with a flex less then 5 and find the boot that’s the most comfortable for you.
Imao you must buy snowboard boots
Definitely have to get snowboarding boots. Find ones that are comfortable at first 🤘🏼
The real OG’s go barefoot but since you’re new I’d probably get snowboard boots. From there you can progress to rain boots, and then eventually Vans slip ons, to flip flops, and then one day barefoot. Good luck with your progression!
Damn, you are gonna actually ride that board? I figured that one would be for collecting only
Hell yeah he rides evrything
Cheers to all the dreamers
i think this is the first video in the two+ years of watching that you mention gear and sticker shoutouts but dont do one.
I have been instructing all levels of snowboarding for years. Most our clients (90%) are beginners. For beginners I have seen the best results having your bindings just over shoulder width apart. As a beginner you absolutely want to go directional first. I’d advise a +10-12 degree on the back foot and a + 32-38 on the front foot. It will help you to keep from over rotating on the backside turn and under rotating on the front side while keeping your upper body and shoulders comfortably squared to the board going one directional. For beginners we teach to start the turn with a simple board torsion coming out of a sliding perpendicular to the hill position. This is easiest achieved by having both feet going one directional.
Make sure heels and toes are equally far apart from the board’s edge. If your feet are too big you might need an extra wide board. Going at an eg +12 and +37 degree angle helps mitigate boot to snow contact. Contrary to other beliefs, you want to stand slightly center to forward on your board. Beginners often lean back. It’s a human instinct when you pick up accidentally too much speed. Unfortunately that makes the board less controllable. The center to front you mount your bindings to easier and quicker your board reacts. You can test that yourself. Lean all the way back and try to seer your board, it will react slowly and it is hard to turn. Lean extreme forward and the board bites right away.
Regarding your binding heel, you want your backfoot heel slightly pushed more forward than your front one. Same reason there, it forces you into a position where you are pushed slightly forward on the board.
This is, as mentioned above the settings for a beginner. If you get better and you develop your own preference you can switch it up according to your liking and needs. I of course didn’t come up with that but this is how we were taught to instruct in Switzerland by the SSBS, the swiss snowboard school association. You can look it up in detail if you want to, I’m sure google will get you there. From personal experience teaching hundreds of beginners I can tell you it works.
Have a fantastic winter everyone!
My bindings don't have the heel adjustment, saddest outcome of my budget setup.
@@thedude5510 Arbor Spruce
@@thedude5510 oh no that's all good, my boot in the bindings is fine, and mounted properly. I don't have any adjustments to angle my bindings to be more or less sensitive to switching edges. My binding is straight up as opposed to leaned forward if that makes sense.
I am 1st
nice video until you said "get your wife or daughter or someone around"
Dude wtf man, just little comments like this just show your aiming this at men. And like it doesn't say men's snowboard stance in title so, yuno just be careful init.
Snowboarding isn't just for men and not just men are going to watch this video
so if my squat is uneven shoud i have the front more back or the back more foward/
Idk what that means?
@JohnathanBuckhouse when I squat in my normal position on the front it is the closest screw to the center and on the back it is the center 4 screws of the 8 holes is that okay or should I put my front binding in the center or the holes and the back in the closet screws to.the middle of the board
