  • Since we can't forget where we came from, we're going to show you guys how to mount your snowboard bindings. Kevin has a video on how to mount your bindings to a Burton Channel board, but for this one we're going to concentrate on mounting up a standard 4 hole pattern. You might learn something, you might not.

    After these two binding setup videos, I need to go check my discs for the toe-to-heel offset. I have always turned the disk 90° to achieve my toe-to-heel positioning, which works, but tends to limit your nose-to-tail adjustment. But then again, it hasn't been a problem, as you can usually get it within 1/4-inch or so. But I always like when manufacturers engineer something for more options.

    Thanks for really clearing up good binding set up and making it easy to understand disc position and stance width guys. I can now really understand what I need to adjust on mine.
    As a new snowboarder, do I have to adjust the high backs so they are flat along the heel side edge or should I leave them centred?

      Personal preference. I don't do it, Kevin sometimes does it. It's one of those things that you have to do some trial and error to see if it works for you.

    I am running reg foot, 18 front/ 15 back (toes out)on my Bataleon evil twin. I usually find myself riding switch about 50% of the time.

    If my left binding is on the second screw hole n my right is on the third will that make much of a difference in the ride? Both are set to 15 respectively. My right leg is shorter n that setting feels like I’m in alignment just throws my ocd off knowing the board isn’t set up even. Will it affect the ride?

      If you have more tail than nose yes it will, if you have more nose than tail, you're fine.

    Hey Avran, is there any harm or risk of damage in mounting a binding using adjacent 2x4 inserts (not jumping over any inserts in the middle) on a full-sized disk? As though it were a mini-disk? My new board for some reason has its reference centered this way.

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  3 года назад +1

      Hey Henry, tried to answer this in the live stream last night. But no you're good. All it's going to do is change the flex point under foot of the disk. This will give it a bit more of a leverage point for you but you probably won't really notice it.

    Speaking of mounting bindings to boards, I got the Ride Agenda and Burton Customs which I have not used yet, and I was practicing some tail and nose presses at home when I noticed that my whole set up is creaking like a m***erf**ker! I'm new to snowboarding (yes, I took the cellophane wrapping off the board), but I can tell its coming from the bindings rubbing against board. A little noise is coming from the straps and boots, but most of it is coming from where the bindings make contact with the board. Is this normal? Will it go away once I ride it a few times? Is there anything I can do to make it stop? My friend suggested taking a candle and rubbing it against the bottom of the binding to stop the friction. He said it's the plastic base of the binding rubbing against the top coat. Any suggestions?

    I started with the reference points on the board but that was a little to wide for me. I want to put only one binding one hole towards the middle. Witch one do I have to move ? The front or the back binding. I ride a directional freeride board.

    I saw a Jones binding set up video and the tech said that the back of your boot should not overhang the back edge or you will wash out. This seems counter to what AS is saying that the boots should be even over both edges. Which one is right?

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  Год назад

      Do you ride with your binding all the way forward so you have more toe overhang?

    • @Gramercy_Stiffs

      @@AngrySnowboarder Thanks for the reply. I don't really want to. Would prefer to be more even. Just got new bindings after like a decade & they're proportionally different to my last set. The advice on the other vid threw me a little as to do so would put a lot of boot over the toe edge, but I've also experienced wash out so thought that might be a solution I wasn't aware of. Other vid around the 5:40 mark - ruclips.net/video/o7Jt0T8N_WE/видео.html
