I’m still waiting on my steel book from the UK. I caught your review and I was relieved to hear your take on how great the music sequences sounded. iTunes released a Prince live concert digital file previously on 4K and I was extremely disappointed visually and audibly. So again, I’m glad to hear how stellar this 4K release is, from your perspective as a fan. Concerts in 4K done well are really hard to come by…Heck, any concert even in HD is hard to come by. No problem it was my pleasure! You’re right there haven’t been many concerts done in 4K. Stop making sense from A24 was really well done. I was worried about how they were going to handle this and thankfully they nailed the music. You’ll notice though dialogue heavy scenes sound a little off
Prince is pretty unbelievable. I believe he holds a record for playing ALL 29 instruments on one of his albums in every song…. 😂😂 ok spoke to soon you mentioned it lmao

I bought the steelbook and it does come with a bluray and some features that are not it the us version. That's what i hate about wb 4k movies, they need to step up
@riveraa903 That’s probably the right route to go. I’m always disappointed when they give us so much on the visuals and audio but don’t have us the stress or second disk. It almost feels incomplete.
Speaking of WB just saw the release of the Watchers 4K…. $45 for just a standard 4K and no bluray….. they are setting a very high price and setting the standard for other studios. Get ready for prices for physical media to skyrocket because demand is wayyyy up
The previous bluray releases had the additional featurettes on the making of Purple Rain and the other featurette on the fashion of Purple Rain and its influence throughout the 80s. Also, the the MTV premier party featurette, which I remember watching when it first aired. So I have to hold on that bluray for that purpose. But this release was a grand slam for me. I grew up with this movie and loved this release!

After early 1990s' DIAMONDS & PEARL album Prince continued to put out music that did not sell all the way to his death. Rap/Hip-Hop took over in the 90s' and Prince could not compete on the sales chart.

''THE BEAUTIFUL ONES''. That's my song. My only gripe is it's not in ''DOLBY-VISION/DOLBY ATMOS''. That would have really made this movie great.
That’s WB, For some reason they prefer HDR 10 and a DTS HD Ma 5.1. They’ll make exceptions sometimes though. We can dream though lol

Yeah my only disappointment was the extras otherwise I was so happy with this release. I truly didn’t expect it to sound and look as good as it did.
The bluray had the opposite effect. Dialog was clear but the music was soft.
So on the next release everything should be perfect lol.

All them extras are on the previous Blu-ray disc, which were never ported over to new Blu-ray for this. Yup lazy on the studio!!!
That’s very lazy when their your own extras and all you would have to do is bring the file on to this disk lol
I hate 4k movies where I have to turn up & down the volume.
It’s something that really frustrates me. I feel like it was an easy fix but i’m not in there with them so im not sure.
