Hi mate , good to see that you are doing the job well , skimping on Insulation and Sound deadening will not work in the long run , Be Well my Friend .

Good video pal, refreshing to not hear stupid music or any music in the background whilst you’re talking. I agree with you that it’s best to do it properly and this is how I stumbled across your vid, I’m using Dodo sound deadn hex mat, 6mm thermo pro then the fleece but the diall brand then I guess the no4 stage would be the panel/carpet, very expensive and time consuming however as you say it has to be done right👍
I too have learned the engine bay makes a difference so I will look into doing that also the doors and door card face with Dodo deadn - maybe overkill or even over weight as it’s quite a heavy product.
    Regards,
    Marc the carpenter

Thank you. The door cards make a big difference. Upgrade the speakers at the same time, I have a video on that coming soon. It could be overkill, but you won’t be disappointed with the results. Especially if you compare it to a door which is standard

It doesn’t help having a black van, looks the dogs but boy do they attract the heat ! There’s a reason why most cars in the Middle East are white. Good job mate 👍🏻🇬🇧

I honestly think it’s pointless argument - reliability much depends on how you look after a vehicle. Most transporter owners buy for the badge so tend to look after them better than a workman running it into the ground. All are built by a computer these days to the same tolerance so the ‘German quality’ thing went out with the 80’s (I did love my E30 Beema). VW’s holding their value is perpetuated by enthusiasts and rightly so - the scene is brilliant. That said, there are a lot of transporters I was looking at 6 months ago that haven’t shifted - especially the Calis at crazy prices. Fact is the only thing I was a bit sad about when I decided on a custom for my camper was that I would not be part of the VW community. I have just ordered an ID3 does that count? My custom does take my back to my boy racer days though where I always longed for an RS turbo! Heritage comes in many forms!

That’s very true and why people saying the Transporter is unreliable, are not right.
There are a lot of crazy prices. Part of the problem is people have paid well over the odds for their van originally and are trying to lose as little as possible. Some ads I’ve seen recently for mass produced rubbish, with cheap components at high prices is mad.
Your still part of the “club” with and I.D3 😀
I was lucky enough to own a few RS Turbo’s 😍 I’d only I had kept one. Especially the Series One I had 🤷🏻‍♂️ Always wanted a Cossie, but I think that ship has sailed now

Good video, but why would u deaden the exterior wheel arches when u have done inside? Transporter HQ do exterior theirs instead of inside. That way it shows the inner arch shape off more when carpeting.

You can access the front wheel arches from inside properly so they will be done outside. I won’t do the exterior of the rear. That is a good way of doing it, however mine won’t be visible when I get some furniture, so did the inside. I’ve seen a lot of vans recently from high end professional converters, one thing they don’t seem to do is the front doors and that makes a huge difference

@@StaycationLifestyle Maybe my expectations were high transforming a tin into a limousine 😀 used dodo’s high quality products but still hear road noise. Amount if effort and money not worth it imo
