I actually think the styling of the Nautilus is fairly nice, especially compared to the outgoing model! it looks much swooped, which Lincoln also did in the Aviator! To be fair, it's basically a smaller Aviator. I think if they would've given it just a few more horsepower, like even 350 or something, it would've vastly improved the car, but 0-60 in 6.5 seconds is way better than my mothers 2018 Traverse!
One thing id change about this car is the "small" touchscreen. Make it retractable, like some older audis. so you can have just the big screen when not inputing (long drives or something)
They can’t do that because then you’d lose all of your climate control search her on the screen. The better thing would be to just make buttons for the climate control and leave the screen for just the mouth on the radio.
I for one believe that the new Nautilus is a very attractive SUV. Lincoln is obviously going through a bit of a renaissance right now refreshing and redesigning their models like the Aviator and the all-new fifth-generation Navigator. I especially love their new exterior lighting design language which ironically started on the Zephyr which is sold only in China and is now making its way to the SUVs. This makes me wish Lincoln would make another attempt at the Continental and actually have it be its own thing as a flagship model of sorts akin to the Navigator but in sedan form. Maybe Lincoln could even create a program where customers can spec out their own bespoke Continental. It would make the most sense considering that Cadillac has the Celestiq and people will be able to option that car to their heart's content.
This is it. This is a landmark HUD. Finally a HUD that is as good as or better than what someone would design for a video game where there are no real world constraints. This is great.
Having just completed the lease on my 21 navigator, I can say that Lincoln quality really is amazing. The problem, and it’s a big one is that when it comes time for service, you are stuck with the terrible experience of getting service at a Ford dealer
the screen situation kinda reminds me of the Honda E, tho i definitely prefer the E's because of the integrated side mirrors, and no lack of physical controls. seems all more functional, compared to the Nautilus' luxurious design
I just want to take a moment to say how much I appreciate Doug's attention to detail to have the storage boxes in his garage to spell out, "HI". Hi, Doug!
Agree - I loved the Nautilus name when I heard Lincoln was finally retiring their stupid "MK" nomenclature, something Cadillac should have done as well.
You can turn on the massage function using the lumbar adjustment on the seat, click the middle button on it. (thats the graphic it shows on the screen)
Regarding the rear wiper, the overall image is cleaner with it at the top, but a clean horizontal line is needed at the bottom to be able to clearly see what is happening at the back of the vehicle. That is why not all manufacturers adopt this upper position for the wiper.
20? There are tons of bugs the day off the line your gonna have to put up with..heated seats are on but it says it's off, random little things they would irritate most. The more screens in a car the worse it will age. These cars are disposable and no one will buy them in 10 yrs on the used market..keep your older cars guys.
Not only that, but how long will those breaking parts be around in order to to be replacement parts? The heavy reliance on tech for no reason other than the sake of tech I presume could create a lot more waste for materials used than years past. Also, how many of the car's functions will be moot if/when the screen were to go out?
That steering wheel is also reminiscent of Lincolns of the past, primarily the 60's Lincoln Continental had a oval/squared steering wheel like that. I remember in Pawn Stars, the Old Man (RIP) talking about it.
I started watching this video, got to the door handle part, looked at the clock and decided I needed to go to the store. So I paused the video and went to the store. As I got out of my car and looked to my left I saw the same exact door handle on a sedan. I pointed and said "That's a Lincoln! What a funny coincidence."
The wide screen look like it's part of the car, intended to be there, The touch screen could be integrated too, if someone across the industry would get off of their lap-top love. Airplane cockpits used to look like a mechanic's ideal home garage, and now they look more like a complicated car with two drivers (that's complicated !). Thank you for sparing us the "exhaust note".
Hi doug, a lot of Chinese car companies actually already have a screen spanning from the left to the right side of the car. So what Lincoln did isn't particularly new in the car industry
The centre armrest for second row seats looks like it's been copy and pasted from a 4th gen Lexus RX, from the strap to the way the cupholders are designed, if only it had the nice, luxurious button that U push and if it was damped, like the RX. But it is a very nice centre armrest, only drawback is that the seatback is not as cushioned due to the storage space, sitting there can be a bit firm.
14:15 Funny that you mention Genesis here, as Lincoln and Genesis are my two favorite auto brands right now! They’re both making such beautiful cars. Nobody is doing it like them.
@@MuitoDaoratrue, but today everything its integrated and controled with screens, even basic things. It takes more time and needs more attention to operate.
Damn didn't realize how nice it was inside with all those finishes and displays. That big display is really unique how it gives everything laid out perfectly.
The reason for the larger back seat is that the new Nautilus was designed for the Chinese market who still value being driven and chauffeured around, so there is plenty of room for adults. The average Lincoln customer in the US only needs the back to occasionally drive their grandchildren around so they keep it simple.
That Dashboard panoramic screen reminds me of the one in The Hyundai Genesis VGT. In GT7 it's set to a panoramic rear view camera angle and you see EVERYTHING behind you. It's great. This interior gets major points for normalizing that molded in wide screen. 10/10 interior.
I purchased a preowned 2018 Lincoln Continental last year. It has a lot of the features that this new nautilus has. The doorhandles the same massaging seats. I do miss the giant across the entire car screen though.
I work at a Lincoln dealership and we’ve already been selling the new nautilus since February. People don’t seem terribly interested in them and so far, 95% of the buyers have been senior couples.
Not many manufacturers still make sedans and coupes… and those that do, only make a couple models that are very not popular, except Camrys, Acords, Kia and Hyundai…
I'm sure I'm in the minority but I really appreciate Lincoln's more conservative styling. I think it is a lot more timeless compared to other brands, especially Lexus' which have been heinously ugly for at least a decade. That Lincoln Continental with the 400HP EcoBoost was a particular favourite of mine.
I can only think the reason the Park button is larger than the other gear select buttons is because in a previous generation of Lincolns, all of the buttons were the same size in a row and Park was right below the engine start button leading to people to press the wrong button. This forced Lincoln to change that design. I would prefer a more tactile apparatus like a lever.
Lincoln does a great job of tech and features for a good price (especially used). I have a Black Label MKZ and I bought it because it has tons of crazy features and 400 HP for $30K(at the time). The features in this are another level up and that's really cool to see. Mercedes and stuff would be "better" but also significantly more expensive.
I have a mantra where I would never consider most if not all American car brands, but I have been liking what Ford/Lincoln have been doing and would be the exception.
@@jamesengland7461 i haven't been following the recalls... I bought a used 18 f150 in 00 and I have loved it... Fixed it for $18 and 10 minutes +4 screws when it was 20f outside.
The design and functionality of the top screen is so nice, really great usage of modern technology. I wish they integrated the bottom, touch screen better. It honestly cheapens a fantastic interior, it should have been integrated into the dash instead of floating. Not that I would ever touch a $75K Lincoln but it would be a dealbreaker for me.
As far as crossovers go, I quite like it. It's nice, it's not too gaudy. But watching that map on the dashboard constantly swinging back and forth because it can't decide which direction your stationary vehicle was pointing really started to grind my gears...
Test drove one a couple months back with my father, who previously owned a '13 MKT. We both enjoyed it, but agreed it was an expensive TV, Massage chair set, and Surround sound system. I am hoping they can become cheap on the aftermarket in a couple years.
You nailed the central issue. If you stripped away any signs that this was a Lincoln and asked people who they thought manufactured this car (you should mention its new model to offset any visual clues familiar with specific car companies), many answers would be Mercedes, Genesis, and maybe Range Rover. People are obsessed with badging, and Lincoln, like Buick and others, is a bit late in turning around its lackluster reputation.

ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!! LIKE OMG WHAT?!!? YOU CRAY CRAY! WON THE INTERNET!! BEST COMMENT EVER!!!

It would make the most sense considering that Cadillac has the Celestiq and people will be able to option that car to their heart's content.
both Zephyr and this is made in China as well, so it explains why both of them feel much better than the rest
Doug after driving VWs that don't spend the 10 cents to make the volume knob a 2 piece assembly: "This volume knob is like magic"
This is it. This is a landmark HUD. Finally a HUD that is as good as or better than what someone would design for a video game where there are no real world constraints. This is great.
Doug the type of guy who wolf whistles at construction workers cars.
Fail. How pathetic your life must be. Grow up

The interior is great! The graphics team probably had a great time on this.
Had seen this car and was curious about it so I searched for reviews on RUclips on it and Doug didn't a review of it sadly. But now he does!
I just want to take a moment to say how much I appreciate Doug's attention to detail to have the storage boxes in his garage to spell out, "HI". Hi, Doug!
Hands down one of the best names given to any car. You don’t see literature names too often.
Agree - I loved the Nautilus name when I heard Lincoln was finally retiring their stupid "MK" nomenclature, something Cadillac should have done as well.
"Little vertical bar that shows the speed relative to nothing" really got me 😂
I disagree about this car being anonymous. I have seen a handful of these and they absolutely stand out.

You can turn on the massage function using the lumbar adjustment on the seat, click the middle button on it. (thats the graphic it shows on the screen)
For many years, people have been predicting the demise of Lincoln. This car proves them wrong.
Regarding the rear wiper, the overall image is cleaner with it at the top, but a clean horizontal line is needed at the bottom to be able to clearly see what is happening at the back of the vehicle. That is why not all manufacturers adopt this upper position for the wiper.
Can't imagine all this tech will last in 20 years without breaking
Will it? 😂
And who is going to release updates for all the services that are connected
No lincoln last 20 years so dont worry about the tech
That steering wheel is also reminiscent of Lincolns of the past, primarily the 60's Lincoln Continental had a oval/squared steering wheel like that. I remember in Pawn Stars, the Old Man (RIP) talking about it.
Pray for the sales person that sells one to a 70 year old who doesn’t know how to close apps on their iPhone.
Well those exist but others as well. My dad is 70+ and uses khis ipad, iphone, notebook and has some alexa's in his house.
I actually seen a new Lincoln Nautilus recently. And Yes!! You can see the elongating Infotainment screen so clearly. Riding by is looked soo premium.
I started watching this video, got to the door handle part, looked at the clock and decided I needed to go to the store. So I paused the video and went to the store. As I got out of my car and looked to my left I saw the same exact door handle on a sedan. I pointed and said "That's a Lincoln! What a funny coincidence."
That what you saw was a Lincoln Continental. Gorgeous car imo
I seen A LOT of these on the road lately in my city, their so well designed, can't wait for the new aviator video
Hi doug, a lot of Chinese car companies actually already have a screen spanning from the left to the right side of the car. So what Lincoln did isn't particularly new in the car industry
Still can't get over how good this turned out!
Lady, those sunglasses do not work.
'how *well*'
No it looks horrible bot
Ive seen a few on the road and they are gorgeous. They always get my attention, especially at night
Doug is the type of guy to buy a car for its Chimes.
Lincoln is underrated.
14:15 Funny that you mention Genesis here, as Lincoln and Genesis are my two favorite auto brands right now! They’re both making such beautiful cars. Nobody is doing it like them.
Also, we can’t have our phones while driving, but we can have this massive movie theater screen on our dash? I don’t understand
Phones are not fixed at a line of sight with the road and necessarily needs a hand off of the steering. Plus it doesn't have TikTok.
@@MuitoDaoratrue, but today everything its integrated and controled with screens, even basic things.
It takes more time and needs more attention to operate.
pretty soon they'll replace the windshield with a screen, can't wait!
@@MuitoDaora alot of screens inside cars can preload apps including tiktok.
But hey, it has some nice safety features so if case something happens
Damn didn't realize how nice it was inside with all those finishes and displays. That big display is really unique how it gives everything laid out perfectly.
The reason for the larger back seat is that the new Nautilus was designed for the Chinese market who still value being driven and chauffeured around, so there is plenty of room for adults. The average Lincoln customer in the US only needs the back to occasionally drive their grandchildren around so they keep it simple.
designed and made in china as well. thats why its better than any of their other models
15:05 doug is the kind of guy that dances 🕺 to cars chimes when nobody is looking 😮
bro be honest he will do it while people are looking and it likely will look like a bad attempt at the carlton
I purchased a preowned 2018 Lincoln Continental last year. It has a lot of the features that this new nautilus has. The doorhandles the same massaging seats. I do miss the giant across the entire car screen though.
The unlocked icon on the door should be green. The locked icon should be red. The wheels would look better all black.
Doug is the kind of guy who needs a beach chair to show us a Lincoln
I scent the interior of every car I'm in. 😂
The clock details of the long hand and short hand is magnificent
This car is absolutely beautiful
The full width screen on the interior really reminds of Data’s glasses on Star Trek Next Gen. The screen is huge yet still hard to read…
I work at a Lincoln dealership and we’ve already been selling the new nautilus since February. People don’t seem terribly interested in them and so far, 95% of the buyers have been senior couples.
Shame.
It's a lincoln !
Don't sell well.
Yea it’s honestly a great car for the price
I'm sure younger couples would buy them if they had the financial means to.
I guess it depends on the location cause I've seen tons of 24 Nautilus' on the road and it's always 30 somethings driving them.
The more instrument screens and touchscreens, the more luxurious analog dials and physical buttons seem.
Nice SUV. I’m sure Matthew McConaughey will love it.
Definitely like the vehicle and mentality behind. When I START shopping for new car it will be the first to try.❤
Do they even sell compact, fun, light cars in the US? All I see is videos of giant trucks and SUV's.
Hi
Not many. Especially by the US manufacturers.
well they still make corvettes and mustangs
Not many manufacturers still make sedans and coupes… and those that do, only make a couple models that are very not popular, except Camrys, Acords, Kia and Hyundai…
Civic SI is pretty good
i remember seeing this in the Houston Auto show and i was shocked no one has been praising this car. I was stunned. can’t wait for these to depreciate
Most people: just want an affordable people mover
Lincoln: Here's a light dance
@@johnphillips7894 Lincoln, or any luxury brand, is not supposed to be the affordable people mover. Look at Honda or Chevy.
@@skycaptain3344 It's a joke buddy!
Those are killer wheels Doug! Love them! 👍
I absolutely agree that the Lexus grill has been hideous for a while.
Lincoln engineer - "How big of a screen do you want?" CEO - "Yes!"
Hey Doug, can you review that van from Good Kid, M.A.A.D City?
I can only think the reason the Park button is larger than the other gear select buttons is because in a previous generation of Lincolns, all of the buttons were the same size in a row and Park was right below the engine start button leading to people to press the wrong button. This forced Lincoln to change that design. I would prefer a more tactile apparatus like a lever.
Lincoln does a great job of tech and features for a good price (especially used). I have a Black Label MKZ and I bought it because it has tons of crazy features and 400 HP for $30K(at the time). The features in this are another level up and that's really cool to see. Mercedes and stuff would be "better" but also significantly more expensive.
maintenance isnt terrble either
@@nmDst Right, high end luxury car features and materials and Ford maintenance costs.
I drove the Navigators off the line for a few years at Ford. Those and the Nautilus’s are incredible. Plus it’s MADE IN THE 🇺🇸
I have a mantra where I would never consider most if not all American car brands, but I have been liking what Ford/Lincoln have been doing and would be the exception.
This is actually pretty impressive. Very nice interior, i'd buy one for a limo service if i had one.
@@volvo09lincoln=ultimate comfort. My grandfather's 1995 Lincoln town and country was the most comfortable car I ever drove in.
Ironically, the only actual reason to no longer consider an American Ford is their recalls, which are theirs worst ever
@@jamesengland7461 i haven't been following the recalls... I bought a used 18 f150 in 00 and I have loved it... If it has any recalls it's nothing major. 40k miles later, only problem was a turn signal stalks broke and kept my wipers on "low intermittent".
People: "Hey... i want a Ford, but like... with MORE things to break on it."
Lincoln: "Hold my seltzer water"
As far as crossovers go, I quite like it. It's nice, it's not too gaudy. But watching that map on the dashboard constantly swinging back and forth because it can't decide which direction your stationary vehicle was pointing really started to grind my gears...
Id consider this car without the screen the interior looks so nice
Like driving with a triple monitor setup in front of you.
Test drove one a couple months back with my father, who previously owned a '13 MKT.
We both enjoyed it, but agreed it was an expensive TV, Massage chair set, and Surround sound system.
I am hoping they can become cheap on the aftermarket in a couple years.
8:34 Doug is the kind of guy to not know what an oval is
I read this right when I was thinking that 😆
that's not an oval, though. "Squircle" maybe.
Made in CHINA under Changan Auto. An exercise akin to trying to sell a designer suit, but it comes with a ‘ Made in same sweatshop as your Halloween costume’ tag! (It should if it doesn’t already). It’s missing a fortune cookie in the glovebox. ‘Confucius says: buyers remorse in near future’. The price gouge is also a back handed slap to the face.
Yes but it doesn't mean it could be any better if it was made in the USA. It would cost way more for sure. No point blaming China for building better products
@@dneth19would it really cost more? Right now it’s subject to a 27.5% tariff.
@@ArchieOnEarth not only the cost. Yes there is an additional tax to bear but it's increasingly getting tougher to manufacture stuff here since the policymakers and the unions don't really help things around. Look at what's going on with the Canadian ford manufacturing plant. It's where the previous Nautilus was made and they make zero vehicles there today! ZERO! It's not that we don't have workers,it's just that there are so many bull*hit which companies don't want to deal with..
