China boycotted the arbitration, so the Philippines paid the China's share of the arbitration case that the Philippine filed for the arbitration to continue.
1. Historical Evidence: • China has a long history of sovereignty over the South China Sea. Chinese maps and historical documents, especially the nautical charts from the Yuan and Ming dynasties, clearly indicate that the South China Sea islands belong to China. As early as the 2nd century BC, China’s Han Dynasty conducted maritime activities involving the South China Sea region. 2. Legal Basis: • According to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the demarcation of territorial waters, exclusive economic zones, and continental shelves should be based on territorial sovereignty. Historically, China has maintained continuous and effective control over the South China Sea islands. • The Philippines’ claim to sovereignty over the South China Sea mainly relies on its 2009 submission opposing China’s “nine-dash line,” but this lacks sufficient historical and legal foundation. 3. International Arbitration and Disputes: • Although the Philippines won the South China Sea arbitration case in 2016, China neither accepts nor participates in this arbitration, arguing that the tribunal lacks jurisdiction. According to international law, territorial disputes between China and the Philippines should be resolved through bilateral negotiations, not unilateral international arbitration.

Chinese coast guards have to take the defense according to the laws of the People's Republic of CHINA . Philippines damaged vessels and the soldiers are ordered by the People's Republic of CHINA to leave the South China Sea on 30.8.2024. This video is disingenuous. For example: (1) Philippines did not initiate to bring the dispute to the arbitration. It was the US "private" law firm which initiated it, and after the so-called "hearing" was done without China's participation, on grounds that the PCA is not a legitimate court, as it has no jurisdiction on matters of territorial sovereignty. (2) Philippines also has disputes with the territorial waters of other ASEAN countries, but the video ignores this but selectively argue on the dispute between China and US (on behalf of Philippines). Why so? (3) China's claim of the territorial waters is based on historical records that predates UNCLOS's existence. (4) US claim about the lack of "freedom of navigation" in the region. There is no evidence that commercial and civilian marine vessels ever face any restriction sailing through the body of waters. Maybe the US is feeling the burden of guilt that her military vessels may be restricted in the future, if she overly saturate the regions waters with her military exercises.

No, it started in 1958 with UNCLOS I. China has ratified the law of the sea convention (losc), so they should abide by the rules. However, the losc is very vague and can be interpreted in various ways, hence why this dispute is here in the first place. They also explained in the video that, while China has ratified the losc, they did not ratify the arbitration process which should enforce compliance with the losc, so that makes it even more complicated.

The SCS is the world's busiest, prosperous and open sea in the world with freedom of navigation for ships and overflight for planes fully guaranteed. 500,000 commercial vessels, one million civilian flights a year. The only tension is when countries spy on one another. US and Australia are serial offenders especially when loitering within China's waters close to the mainland or islands. When the US wants to contain China through the SCS issue and enlists other countries like Australia to follow suit it does intensify disputes in the area.
their own Law, But the funny part of China is that they keep on saying that their act is based on International law but China themselves are not following International Law, China says they keep peace and stability of that part of the region but they themselves is the one who keep on Harassing its neighboring countries, see, what China says does exactly the opposite
South China Sea this area is very dangerous and there is incredible work going on in the Mariana Trench and the world is asleep and there are hundreds of military bases under the ocean.🗿
It is not the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the HAgue that made the decision. That is totally wrong. The AD HOC Committee that made the 2016 Decision.
Mga kababayan, it's time we stand united and vigilant in defending our nation's sovereignty. China’s bullying in the West Philippine Sea must be met with strength and resolve. We have the power to innovate! Let’s push for a strong missile program and develop modern drones to protect our seas, just like Ukraine. Our Filipino engineers and tech experts are capable of building this future. Now is the time to support our Armed Forces, demand government action, and work together for a stronger, self-reliant Philippines. Para sa bayan, para sa kinabukasan!
Actually dude hindi lang China ang nagtatayo ng artificial islands sa loob ng ating RRZ, ang latest ay Vietnam. meron ding artificial island ang Malaysia.
West philippines sea not south china sea😂
The west and its allies makes all the matters worst for us Filipinos. I hope the wars will be on their lands not in the Philippines.
Now america just delivered hundreds of rocket in the Philippines in palawan
China coast guard professional thives
First of all we need to stop calling it South China Sea.
Ayungin Shoal and Scarborough Shoal is very important for China to occupy b4 they can proclaim that they own the sea between the shoals and China.
And they will proclaim that no one can pass anymore because it is already within their territory. 🙄
And it will create chaos in other countries navigation.
@@TheoSalaan-z3k And they can easily invade Taiwan
The "PERMANENT COURT OF ARBITRATION" (PCA) is a court for hire. The Arbitral case filed by the Philippines was boycotted by China and the ruling of PCA was ignored by China.
What's next for the Philippines?
How much did the Philippine spent for her arbitral case against China?
"How much did the South China Sea arbitration case cost? Who paid the money? And who received it? Heated discussions on these questions have been raging in the Philippines. The questions have drawn the attention of the international community, too, because $30 million is not a small amount for the Philippines or any other country."
FOR FULL TEXT, GOOGLE "How much Manila spent for favorable ruling?"
China boycotted the arbitration, so the Philippines paid the China's share of the arbitration case that the Philippine filed for the arbitration to continue.
The money spent by the Philippines did not went thru the Philippine Congress. Question, where did the money came from?
1. Historical Evidence:
• China has a long history of sovereignty over the South China Sea. Chinese maps and historical documents, especially the nautical charts from the Yuan and Ming dynasties, clearly indicate that the South China Sea islands belong to China. As early as the 2nd century BC, China’s Han Dynasty conducted maritime activities involving the South China Sea region.
2. Legal Basis:
• According to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the demarcation of territorial waters, exclusive economic zones, and continental shelves should be based on territorial sovereignty. Historically, China has maintained continuous and effective control over the South China Sea islands.
• The Philippines’ claim to sovereignty over the South China Sea mainly relies on its 2009 submission opposing China’s “nine-dash line,” but this lacks sufficient historical and legal foundation.
3. International Arbitration and Disputes:
• Although the Philippines won the South China Sea arbitration case in 2016, China neither accepts nor participates in this arbitration, arguing that the tribunal lacks jurisdiction. According to international law, territorial disputes between China and the Philippines should be resolved through bilateral negotiations, not unilateral international arbitration.
The dispute is 1000nautical miles in chinise shoreline to be exact and legal it is not south china sea it west philippine sea only the portion of 200 nm are claiming by the Philippines
Endmerica n west allows n supports philippine can occupy but not China this "" international "" law is rubbish
Please also watch the explanation of Phil Justice Antonio T. Carpio (Ret.) published on RUclips May 25 last month: Philippine Island Territories in the West Philippine Sea. His explanation why the following countries have no basis for their claim, Vietnam (on Spartlys Islands), China (continued the Taiwan 11-lines claim), Taiwan (the runaway China government that started the 11-lines claim which replaced by the current communist China government), and Malaysia (Sabah or North Borneo).

Before there was UNCLOS, the whole South China SEA was the common fishing ground of all countries inside the SCS. WHAT HAPPENED?
在二战后,中国南海的领土已经划分完了,这些属于中国。现在关于领土的争端,只是中国以外国家单方面的主张,只有在第三次世界大战后这些领土才会重新分配😂
China is the sovereign of the South China Sea eversince the first Emporer of Qin Dynasty unified the Chinese territories in 221BC. Spain is the colonial action that China will never recognize. USA established the country in 1776, Philippines and Japanese are subservient to the USA since WWll .
Now the Philippines should not intrude into the South China Sea in the first place . Chinese coast guards have to take the defense according to the laws of the People's Republic of CHINA . Philippines damaged vessels and the soldiers are ordered by the People's Republic of CHINA to leave the South China Sea on 30.8.2024. USA knows what happens in the South China Sea and suddenly changes names of the sea that China objects .
Kerajaan Majapahit dan Sriwijaya juga nenakluk kan wilayah terdahulu tapi Indonesia tidak rakus seperti china,.
This soon to be 2 Billion population nation is now it seems that the economic system is beginning to Chip away in China, it appears attention is being deverted to Taiwan and the Philippines because the government of China want to devert attention from the economy
This video is disingenuous. For example:
(1) Philippines did not initiate to bring the dispute to the arbitration.
Harusnya ada yg usul ke pbb ubah nama LCS jadi laut Asia,.

A Marcos desperate to escape liability from cases of ill-gotten wealth and human rights violation has risen in power. What else is he to do?
Anthony Katie's new book History and Sovereignty of the South China Sea confirmed China's sovereignty over South China Sea Islands through historical analysis and legal argumentation. Britain and France also legally recognized that South China Sea Islands belong to China.
China people fished in this sea area 1000 years ago. At that time, Filipinos were still fighting for food with monkeys in trees.😅
After the Second World War, the new international law stipulated the scope of South China Sea of China. At this time, the Philippines was still under American colonial rule. So, things are clear. Americans want the Philippines to challenge China. Yes, Filipinos want war.

如果我现在立一个法律,宣称纽约是中国领土,那么这个在法律上也属于中国。这就像在没有经过中国同意下,宣称中国南海是菲律宾海一样。😂

And it's not really appropriate that they will just invent 9-10 dashline map. Are they crazy? Truly they are theives. Very theives
China defeat Japan then got back the right about South China Sea. China draw 11 lines by WWII,China defeat Japan then China got back the right about South China Sea. What job does Philippines done when WWII?
China draw the nine lines in 1946. And the international ocean law began 1982. How 1982 law can broke 1946 things?
No, it started in 1958 with UNCLOS I. China has ratified the law of the sea convention (losc), so they should abide by the rules. However, the losc is very vague and can be interpreted in various ways, hence why this dispute is here in the first place. They also explained in the video that, while China has ratified the losc, they did not ratify the arbitration process which should enforce compliance with the losc, so that makes it even more complicated.
@@maxendrer.8457 The 11 lines draw in 1946,it is much early than UNCLOSI. China draw 11 lines by defeat Japan in WWII. It is with USA army to check the Chinese islands in South China Sea. So Chinese government officials draws the 11 lines to show the field what Chinese owned.
the ROC in Taiwan claims 11-knot line lol
Only the South China Sea is internationally recognized
Wrong! It is often called SCS obviously because its in the south. But for PH its been called West PH sea because its in the western part of the PH and same goes with vietnam they call it East Vietnam Seas. Therefore nobody can claim something just because it was "famously" called so by others.
@@kuruchi91 It seems that China has to use force to silence the Philippines just like the US and Japan invaded the Philippines and now the Philippines has become a compliant dog of the US
