When I was a little kid I remember being in a restaurant and eating my first crab cake that had been stuffed in the shell (no legs). I was living my best life eating that thing, until my brother turned it around and I saw those two crispy crab eyes looking at me. I screamed my head off right there in the restaurant. My Mom had to go outside because she was laughing so hard 🤣 🦀
Another awesome video. 👍 There are some expensive restaurants in the States that serve the freshest and tastiest crab cakes I've ever had. I've learned that if you drizzle fresh lemon juice on them it magnifies the flavor. I don't eat crab cakes without lemon now. 😋

I love these guys. Raeen is a man after my own heart, very analytical. Sarru really gave us a glimpse into his heart this time. Cheerful Raju always makes me smile and feel better.
I grew up near the ocean and ate a lot of seafood but my son's have grown up far from the sea and are not used to eating much fish or shellfish. I've been making clam chowder and seafood chowder and they have really taken to it. I use canned crab and milk in my chowders, they weren't used to seeing white looking soup either, it has melted butter floating on top too, but when they dipped some crusty bread into the chowder and tasted the flavours, they finished it all. Now I need to make two pots full to get a bowl myself.
That would be a good treat to let the villagers try too, I bet they'd love it like my sons do now.
They would also like the chowder because it would look to them like a white curry.
I make it with canned too, because we don't have much for fresh seafood in North Dakota. But it turns out very good and my family loves it.
Since they like unusual seafood I think they would enjoy crispy fried squid rings too. Also I feel a very interactive experience for them could be a good Louisiana style shellfish boil with shrimp, clams, crab, corn on the cob, boiled potatoes & spicy sausage....The spice will appeal to them too instead of just an Old Bay Seasoning boil.
As a northern Virginia native, I approve this video 👍 Since I moved to Florida, I miss crab cakes and Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs. Not the same elsewhere.
Just gotta switch it up and do a good Souther Crawfish Boil.

I feel the same way. We moved from Maryland to Michigan back in the 70's. Thank goodness for Old Bay seasoning so we can cook our own.

I wonder sometimes, based on Raeen´s mimics, if he sometimes "wishes" that he would live elsewhere - his thirst for knowledge sometimes "reveals" these kinds of mimics.

I live in a state where crab is pretty much the official dish but tbh crabs kinda freak me out too lol, they look like armored underwater spiders to me.
Raeen should get that friend who likes crab & make kekada tikiya on the show for them both to try get them a recipe for crab cakes they don’t have to use old bay seasoning they can use local spices that are similar the spicing can be some to experiment with going forward as a treat - old bay is a spice blend that I’m sure can be duplicated or approximated

Give them Swabian Käsespätzle, if you can manage to make that dish. Don't forget about the green salad with a simple red wine vinegar and sunflower seed oil as vinaigrette.
The acidity and the veggie part needs to be there to balance the heaviness of the Käsespätzle.
If they like paneer, onions and noodles they will love it.

I think the show Deadliest Catch show the danger of catching crab in the Bering Sea. I think they would enjoy one of these episodes.

Crab Cakes are really good with a side of rice aswell and a slice of lemon to squeeze on the crab

I'm not a fish eater, and don't like crabs on their own, but I grew up near Maryland, which is famous for its crab cake. A good crab cake is an excellent thing!

They would love salmon if it’s available. I usually bake mine in foil so it doesn’t dry out. Grilled salmon is delicious too.
I am known for my crab cake plus salmon cakes.. I use mash potatoe in mine to bind Also spices .. so happy they enjoyed it

I bet they would find it funny that I have never ate mutton. My dad said the Army use to feed it to them and he hated it so we never had it growing up. We just started seeing lamb in the stores but I have never ate it either.
Crab cakes are delicious , so are salmon patties! This had to taste strange to them having never had it or eaten much crab before.

Bring them to Washington State for seafood. We have 7 types of Salmon which meat color is pink to bright red. We have our own oysters called Olympia , named after our state capital. We have crab called Dungeness , we have many types of rock and bottom fishes. We have clams and mussels and a clam called a product. Yes their is a place that has won many awards for it's best clam chowder Sorry Boston.

I lived in Seattle for 5 years and was probably the only person there who didn't eat salmon or drink coffee. About a year ago, I decided to see if I could at least tolerate salmon for its health benefits. I made a filet in the air fryer and put on a little teriyaki - it was great! Now I eat salmon frequently. I guess our tastes change, even as we get older, because I could not stand the taste before. I'm still to chicken (ha) to try other fish, but the salmon is good.

Sarru is right about the naming convention of this item as "caked", Apparently, according to Wikipedia the name of this item as crab cake occurred first in "Crosby Gaige's 1939 publication New York World's Fair Cook Book in which they are described as "Baltimore crab cakes", but the recipe for this item predated that name, Even before Sponge Bob was on t.v. we already had the term "krabby patty", which is another name for crab cake, although the name "crab cake is more popular and known more broadly nowadays.

I love crab cakes. The best I have had in a restaurant were in National Harbor, MD, Newport, RI, and Atlantic Beach, NC. I’m sure there are others.

These guys are really brave to try new things like they do. I always thought crabs look like spiders; they are really scare-y looking, not like something anybody would like to eat. Crab cakes are delicious, I just try not to think about where they came from. :)

I grew up on an island, and I love fish. However, I really dislike the taste of crab and lobster. The vultures of the sea!
Perhaps they would enjoy seeing a video on how crabs are caught, cooked and eaten! Then they might try eating a cooked crab themselves other than just crab cakes. Crab is delicious, of delicate flavor, but can be a hassle to eat unless you have some knowledge about the process.
A crab cakes are a nice treat now and then but they don't have enough crab in it usually for me. They should try king crab
I thought I saw Raeen in the supermarket yesterday. It was someone else, but I feel like we're neighbours.
I don't know why a doctor would say no mutton for diabetes. I'm a diabetic and eat any kind of meat. I can't eat rice, potatoes, bread or pasta. Along with sugar filled foods. I tolerate sugar better than the other things though. I've gone on meat only diets at times.

I live in Baltimore and we have the best crab cakes.
What i found interesting is that they didn't praise it wildly like they often do other foods, but they keep eating more right along and seemed to really want to talk about it.

probably not, I can imagine they'd cost an arm and a leg. Plus the producers might not even be aware that anaphylactic shocks/ death could happen with certain types of food...
