you want to know a secret? Bill Hader probably doesn't think he's pulling it off either a lot of the time! Dude has super severe social anxiety; he hated Saturdays at SNL because of all that pressure. Similarly, I used to have abysmal social skills and really bad social anxiety (had a stutter and everything) but now I'd say it's one of my better qualities, and I genuinely enjoy talking to people. It's one of my favorite things to do! Occasionally somebody will comment that I seem confident or that they "can tell" I know what I'm talking about, or something like that. It still blows my mind because inside, I'm definitely not always confident and I'm _not_ 100% sure what I'm talking about! I'm usually filled with all _sorts_ of self-doubt and worry (just like I'm sure everyone else is too). Anyway, my point was that it's a skill that can be learned, just like anything else! it just sucks a lot more failing [and learning] over and over because you have to do it in front of other people, and usually other people you want to like you 😂. The good news is that it doesn't take very long to start to figure things out. But seriously: you could totally learn to be charismatic if you want to, I have literally zero doubt in my mind :)

Bill Hader is beyond successful. He was on SNL for 8 years, been in numerous movies, done voiceover work has been on a couple of cable shows, (Barry being the most current.) Plus he's a writer and a dad... I've not heard anything about him being depressed or anxious, only that he said he's been nervous while performing live on SNL which is completely understandable. I have to say I'm appreciating his many talents and I am one of his many fans. His wit and sense of humor are by far one of the best. Love this man.
