What the hell happened to prison servers? They used to be soft RP/PVP between the prisoners and guards. Now most of them are insta-minining cookie clickers with zero human interaction.
It went downhill after the idea of mining ores in the prison mines for money was introduced. Servers such as this and others like PurplePrison or WildPrison are the ultimate conclusion of trying to maximize the mining aspect and trimming everything else that wasn't nearly as easy to monetize.
To be fair, Starting out being camped by full enchanted dudes was never fun. Aside from the monetization aspects. I think just not enough people would be guards and/or they would abuse. At least it used to be a bit more "realistic" in terms of survival ig. Less exaggerated mines and op prison shit. Sadly any server trying to do something interesting dies out. Unless you're a p2w giant or Hypixel.
small note. This server wasn't necessarily rushed. This is actually a premade core you can find for sale within the prisons community which I believe costs about $250. other servers that have used this core include Minecadia, MineLucky, and now iBlocky. So essentially the administrative team on iBlocky bought this prisons setup for $250 and profited big time off of Ssundee's playerbase most likely without Ssundee knowing they put 0 effort into coding this. That is why they also have only one dev aswell.
@@Robocat511 Well first of all as I dont know much about this incident other than his perspective I cant say much, but I'd speculate that he's mostly innocent as he himself found his crates expensive which is probably cause of devs, as most youtubers dont want to mess up servers and upset their fanbase they hire a team to do these and sometimes they turn out like this.

For a ~99.9% chance of getting it, basically guaranteed, you'd need over 3500 crates. Even then, you've got a 0.09% chance of _not getting the drop_ by that point

i think the math that misterepic was doing is that for each 500 crates opened, you get on average 1 success. so opening 2000 crates would be average of 4 successes

It's also a very new server so there's a very good chance the prices on items change. @@jeanbonneau6292 Pay to win is ALWAYS a problem. Payments that can give items and good loot is fine. What's not fine is when you give items that allow you to rank up in leaderboards, aka "win". If you can win anything from paying other than an ego / ruin people's experiences with money, that payment sucks. Servers do need money to run and cosmetics don't make much, so p2w in either small amounts or pay to have high ego is fine, but major stuff is not. Gambling and crates or not.
About probabilities, 500 is nowhere near to a guarantee it's only a 63% chance. To have a 99% chance you need to buy 2300 crates (which is nearly 100k). To have a 99.9% chance you need to buy 3450 crates which is nearly 140k
Thing is, everyone should know at least this much. Not everyone has to be able to calculate conditional probabilities and stupid stuff like that but the basics are really easy to learn. But I do get it because probabilities are basically a filler course you take in high school

I’ve been rewatching a load of his old series (which still hold up incredibly well to this day), and in all honesty basically everyone of his servers from Prisons to Factions were p2w and had insanely predatory gambling which would be promoted and shown off every episode. People just didn’t care as much back then

I think what the problem with servers line these from youtubers is that they are usually controlled by a bigger organisation (the greedy ones that want money) that owns that hardware, software and everything else and they just use SSundee as a advertising icon where ssundee now dosent have as much control over what happens on the server as he used to and from that they create these pay-to-win servers and crates etc.

Huge former SSundee fan here. Enjoyed watching his content from the OG Factions (SexyFaces :D) all the way to SkyFactory 4. It was his conversion to Fortnite and appealing to the newer generation (I know he's a Kids RUclipsr) and didn't try to at least bat an eye to the fan base he built for so long that made me stop watching his content (Im looking at you 2-round nonstop modded Among Us Videos). About probabilities, 500 is nowhere near to a guarantee it's only a 63% chance. To have a 99% chance you need to buy 2300 crates (which is nearly 100k). To have a 99.9% chance you need to buy 3450 crates which is nearly 140k

I’ve been rewatching a load of his old series (which still hold up incredibly well to this day), and in all honesty basically everyone of his servers from Prisons to Factions were p2w and had insanely predatory gambling which would be promoted and shown off every episode. People just didn’t care as much back then

I think what the problem with servers line these from youtubers is that they are usually controlled by a bigger organisation (the greedy ones that want money) that owns that hardware, software and everything else and they just use SSundee as a advertising icon where ssundee now dosent have as much control over what happens on the server as he used to and from that they create these pay-to-win servers and crates etc.

Huge former SSundee fan here. Enjoyed watching his content from the OG Factions (SexyFaces :D) all the way to SkyFactory 4. It was his conversion to Fortnite and appealing to the newer generation (I know he's a Kids RUclipsr) and didn't try to at least bat an eye to the fan base he built for so long that made me stop watching his content (Im looking at you 2-round nonstop modded Among Us Videos). It hurts more to see this amount of predatory gambling coming from a server he owns. Really upsetting.

I've never noticed any lag with Google Chrome, and I have a ton of tabs open. I also have the memory saver mode enabled which unloads tabs that aren't being interacted with.
