"False" bans aren't a red flag considering what MisterEpic did that time. During chaos in any type of mmo, bans are thrown everywhere if the problem can't be quickly resolved. From there they rollback stuff and slowly unban bit by bit. Been a thing since early 2010s tbh. Now to defend the rest of the server, I can't.

Because of how slow this dupe was compared to the other ones, it did seem to do a lot better in the long run. Despite the surveillance, it was very under the radar. Big difference between duping thousands at a time, getting rid of all of it in five minutes and the method of slowly dishing it out over a long period of time.
Right, this is actually effective at causing problems. Less flashy, less of a public statement, but more complex consequences. Cause inflation to put pressure on the monetization. It either hurts their bottom line, or they have to inflate their prices to compensate, creating more dissatisfaction from players. It's so much more insidious than a drop party that just gets rolled back. Those can be effective in their own way, but it's also much easier to blame the dupers for it and ignore why the duping was being done.

I think they have the plugin that allows them to see the amount of things in a persons inventory and another that shows a quick succession dupe finder, honestly your first mistake would probably been doing it to fast. But they can’t see players that are logged off

there are 2 bundle plugins that you can get off the shelf for free that comes to mind. CMI and essentials. both of which allows you to see player inventories. for beefy servers with lots of storage space there are also means where EVERYTHING is recorded. and some fancy code plugged in to the minecraft record/replay mod actually lets you rewind time and watch the events that happened when they happened. you literally get to wind back time and see who did what at the time-frame you specified.
@@norwegiansmores811that is incorrect. You can't just "plug in" some code into replay mod. The best thing they have is core protect , a action logger. So you can for example check if a player has done a specific action like putting things into chests in a specific timeframe. And then with trades - there's a 99% chance there's trade logging. Basically just a bit log of all trades happening on the server. Replay mod isn't a magic thing that works on anything, its a client side fabric mod whilst servers are based around plugins , which are server side Not to mention how resource intensive running a bigger replay mod remake on 50+ mini instances would be

@@meta___ he did load his island several times, each time requiring its own (sub) world (aka mini server), so depending on the server's scale loading his island several times could cause a noticeable memory spike. However, given that there were 200 players online at any given time, you're probably right and the spike isn't noticeable. As for packets causing a memory spike, that's definitely true; they consume bandwidth not memory. There might be a way of monitoring the fact that he triggered several sub-worlds at once though.
Yeah dupe content creators always talk about how they “destroyed” the server. In reality it disrupts the admins for less than a day or two as they’re begrudgingly forced to rollback the server a few days and then it’s back to business as usual. Very rarely do you see people making these videos actually try to slowly rollout and setup tons of stashes over weeks and weeks, partly because actually “destroying” the server would take a serious amount of effort and time meaning less content. The other reason is that not only does it take a lot of time and effort, it’s actually very hard to do, a skilled admin could use the logs to undo weeks of secret duping and stashing and distribution much more easily and quickly than doing the actual damage was. This server is mostly backing down because they’re under a lot more public scrutiny being owned by Ssundee, that and the admins just don’t seem to know how to better protect their server without ruining the experience for everyone.
@@fatcat2015 but if they do rollback, players that received high priced jackpots like the gem bot in this video will be forced to draw those again, new players most likely will start entirely from scratch and will be most likely less motivated to play again on server. not to mention, if some people got their 1 day of freetime and they used it on this server full mining for 6-7 hours straight, buy stuffs and hops off. then they return and is excited to see their hard earned stuffs, but instead its just gone. any kind of rollback is bad for the server cause the players that are highly effected are going to most likely to quit and its devastating if one or more of their regular donators finally got gem bot through some trade or from box, rollback happens and they are now again without the gem bot. but also if you manage to make server permanently change something, that too will effect player experience. like if you get them disable redstone clocks, that gets rid of some people, if you get them disable snowmen being able to throw snowballs/skeletons shooting arrows that might get rid of some people. oh whats that server? you dislike bunch of mobs just chilling together and now you have installed plugin that makes mobs stack with each other? well you just made every xp grinder worse. and many more ways to permanently lower player experience like for example going to official server discord/forum and suggest something horrible and boost it to top, similarly if you find some suggestions that seems to be losing, boost those to top. and if suggestion seems winning, make it lose. this way server gets suggestions that most of the players dont want and players don't get what they actually want and thus players overtime quit.
I dont even play minecraft anymore but whenever a video like this pops up I watch the full thing every time. its so good seeing these seedy pay to win servers getting screwed over! we need people like you in any game with private servers with unique server "currencies" that cost real money.

If they realize something is wrong, then announce that it will be changed soon, then the reasonable immediate next step is to remove all the gambling, then when the new system is ready, release it. The fact that they continue to not only still use the gambling tactics, but also release new possible rewards for gambling, shows that they are only stopping because of the hate, not because they think its the right thing to do.
Call me crazy. But the new gem robots reminded of that one nuclear reactor in America called SL-1. The reactor only had (basically) one control rod to regulate how much heat the reactor produced. One day the crew went to move the rod and moved it an inch too far and the whole thing detonated. The guy who moved the rod ended up a mangled corpse pinned to the ceiling. Just like the reactor the economy of this server imploded because a one item, too many eggs in one basket I suppose.
What drugs are you on? First, nuclear power plants don't "detonate". Second, of all the notable incidents that happened in the 90's, literally none of them happened in America. And third, I don't know a single nuclear power plant in America that would be "controlled" by a single fuel rod. Seriously, what plant are you even talking about?
also, the reactor was poorly maintained as well - the control rod would frequiently get stuck, and it was maintained by people who probably shouldnt have been doing the job -- random army recruits (as a punishment, i believe) instead of properly trained nuclear engineers. this horrific oversight caused the three men maintaining the reactor that night to lose their lives i dont know if this info adds anything worthwhile to your comparision, i just wanted to share... i believe the detonation was because, due to the control rod frequiently getting stuck, they had to pull it with far more force than they shouldve to be able to get it out of place (as theyd need to occasionally move the rod for power control reasons). however, in the case that lead to the reactor detonating and killing the men maintaining it, the extra force they needed to use to get the rod unstuck unintentionally moved it a bit too much, and the reactor went critical

He's not responsible for the server. They started doing the shady stuff after he promoted it and he can't legally remove videos of him promoting it because of contract shenanigans, he did everything right and got screwed over and he's the one blamed instead of the actual people responsible.
This video was honestly awesome, people destroy P2W servers more often, but generally it's not SUPER hard, while here just 1 online mod along with all the restrictions they put in place made this a huge challenge, honestly was constantly wondering what would happen next
Sad to see so many of my old internet heroes going down these paths. SkyDoesMinecraft has turned into an abusive ex boyfriend / conspiracy theorist who threatened those he once called his friends, Ssundee seems to have gone down this weird rabbit hole of nickel and diming his fans while also having backstabbed Lanceypooh, Deadlox and TrueMU are just fucking GONE, BajanCanadian had a bunch of controversy come out in relation to his making SetoSorcerer leave the group. Bashurverse got arrested and canceleld for sexual assault, and then died of Covid, Jinbop got caught in a sting operation trying to met up with an underage girl and was promptly arrested (And apparently Sky KNEW about that shit in advance!?). So far the only ones I can say for sure are still valid are Mithzan, Ross, Red, Barney, MunchingBrotato (Who Sky threatened with violence to the point of him deleting his channel out of fear, but now he's got a new channel with his wife), and Post Malone.

i mean prison servers have been around for many years too, they're very old. it's just one of those grindy games where you mine, get upgrades, mine better stuff, get upgrades, etc etc

Insane that the server would rather treat the server like a prison to stop people from duping gambling items when the morally correct thing is to just get rid of gambling for items. They would rather rid the server of dropping items, shops, and using chests/barrels instead of just giving up on gambling, insane activity.
Plugins like Webauction must be too complicated for the server's target audience. Not relying on the inventory menu for trading would eliminate a huge exploit vector by itself.

Yep, rolling back the server 5 minutes prior is far less problematic for everyone than rolling back the server a week prior.

I think they have the plugin that allows them to see the amount of things in a persons inventory and another that shows a quick succession dupe finder, honestly your first mistake would probably been doing it to fast.

there are 2 bundle plugins that you can get off the shelf for free that comes to mind. CMI and essentials. both of which allows you to see player inventories.
for beefy servers with lots of storage space there are also means where EVERYTHING is recorded. and some fancy code plugged in to the minecraft record/replay mod actually lets you rewind time and watch the events that happened when they happened. you literally get to wind back time and see who did what at the time-frame you specified.

The best thing they have is core protect , a action logger. So you can for example check if a player has done a specific action like putting things into chests in a specific timeframe.
And then with trades - there's a 99% chance there's trade logging. Basically just a bit log of all trades happening on the server.
Replay mod isn't a magic thing that works on anything, its a client side fabric mod whilst servers are based around plugins , which are server side
Not to mention how resource intensive running a bigger replay mod remake on 50+ mini instances would be

i think packets wouldn't cause a memory spike but i wouldn't be surprised if they had something like a packet monitoring plugin
@@meta___ he did load his island several times, each time requiring its own (sub) world (aka mini server), so depending on the server's scale loading his island several times could cause a noticeable memory spike. However, given that there were 200 players online at any given time, you're probably right and the spike isn't noticeable. As for packets causing a memory spike, that's definitely true; they consume bandwidth not memory. There might be a way of monitoring the fact that he triggered several sub-worlds at once though.
I have an idea. Next time, distribute very slowly over several weeks. This will prevent rollbacks from working.

Yeah dupe content creators always talk about how they “destroyed” the server. In reality it disrupts the admins for less than a day or two as they’re begrudgingly forced to rollback the server a few days and then it’s back to business as usual. Very rarely do you see people making these videos actually try to slowly rollout and setup tons of stashes over weeks and weeks, partly because actually “destroying” the server would take a serious amount of effort and time meaning less content. The other reason is that not only does it take a lot of time and effort, it’s actually very hard to do, a skilled admin could use the logs to undo weeks of secret duping and stashing and distribution much more easily and quickly than doing the actual damage was.
This server is mostly backing down because they’re under a lot more public scrutiny being owned by Ssundee, that and the admins just don’t seem to know how to better protect their server without ruining the experience for everyone.
This video is pretty different in that regard.

@@fatcat2015 but if they do rollback, players that received high priced jackpots like the gem bot in this video will be forced to draw those again, new players most likely will start entirely from scratch and will be most likely less motivated to play again on server. not to mention, if some people got their 1 day of freetime and they used it on this server full mining for 6-7 hours straight, buy stuffs and hops off. then they return and is excited to see their hard earned stuffs, but instead its just gone. any kind of rollback is bad for the server cause the players that are highly effected are going to most likely to quit and its devastating if one or more of their regular donators finally got gem bot through some trade or from box, rollback happens and they are now again without the gem bot. but also if you manage to make server permanently change something, that too will effect player experience. like if you get them disable redstone clocks, that gets rid of some people, if you get them disable snowmen being able to throw snowballs/skeletons shooting arrows that might get rid of some people. oh whats that server? you dislike bunch of mobs just chilling together and now you have installed plugin that makes mobs stack with each other? well you just made every xp grinder worse. and many more ways to permanently lower player experience like for example going to official server discord/forum and suggest something horrible and boost it to top, similarly if you find some suggestions that seems to be losing, boost those to top. and if suggestion seems winning, make it lose. this way server gets suggestions that most of the players dont want and players don't get what they actually want and thus players overtime quit.

If they realize something is wrong, then announce that it will be changed soon, then the reasonable immediate next step is to remove all the gambling, then when the new system is ready, release it.
The fact that they continue to not only still use the gambling tactics, but also release new possible rewards for gambling, shows that they are only stopping because of the hate, not because they think its the right thing to do.

But the new gem robots reminded of that one nuclear reactor in America called SL-1. The reactor only had (basically) one control rod to regulate how much heat the reactor produced. One day the crew went to move the rod and moved it an inch too far and the whole thing detonated. The guy who moved the rod ended up a mangled corpse pinned to the ceiling. Just like the reactor the economy of this server imploded because a one item, too many eggs in one basket I suppose.
What drugs are you on? First, nuclear power plants don't "detonate". Second, of all the notable incidents that happened in the 90's, literally none of them happened in America. And third, I don't know a single nuclear power plant in America that would be "controlled" by a single fuel rod. Seriously, what plant are you even talking about?
Honestly, if you don't want a server economy to crash, how about you don't make stuff that is obscenely valuable
also, the reactor was poorly maintained as well - the control rod would frequiently get stuck, and it was maintained by people who probably shouldnt have been doing the job -- random army recruits (as a punishment, i believe) instead of properly trained nuclear engineers. this horrific oversight caused the three men maintaining the reactor that night to lose their lives
i dont know if this info adds anything worthwhile to your comparision, i just wanted to share...
i believe the detonation was because, due to the control rod frequiently getting stuck, they had to pull it with far more force than they shouldve to be able to get it out of place (as theyd need to occasionally move the rod for power control reasons). however, in the case that lead to the reactor detonating and killing the men maintaining it, the extra force they needed to use to get the rod unstuck unintentionally moved it a bit too much, and the reactor went critical
I think I heard about this in a Kyle Hill video once. 2 of the guys in the crew hated each other’s guts so I think that was a factor. One guy was straight up impaled by one of the rods that flew up on the ceiling. Fucked up

He's not responsible for the server. They started doing the shady stuff after he promoted it and he can't legally remove videos of him promoting it because of contract shenanigans, he did everything right and got screwed over and he's the one blamed instead of the actual people responsible.

This video was honestly awesome, people destroy P2W servers more often, but generally it's not SUPER hard, while here just 1 online mod along with all the restrictions they put in place made this a huge challenge, honestly was constantly wondering what would happen next

Sad to see so many of my old internet heroes going down these paths. SkyDoesMinecraft has turned into an abusive ex boyfriend / conspiracy theorist who threatened those he once called his friends, Ssundee seems to have gone down this weird rabbit hole of nickel and diming his fans while also having backstabbed Lanceypooh, Deadlox and TrueMU are just fucking GONE, BajanCanadian had a bunch of controversy come out in relation to his making SetoSorcerer leave the group. Bashurverse got arrested and canceleld for sexual assault, and then died of Covid, Jinbop got caught in a sting operation trying to met up with an underage girl and was promptly arrested (And apparently Sky KNEW about that shit in advance!?).
So far the only ones I can say for sure are still valid are Mithzan, Ross, Red, Barney, MunchingBrotato (Who Sky threatened with violence to the point of him deleting his channel out of fear, but now he's got a new channel with his wife), and Post Malone.

Insane that the server would rather treat the server like a prison to stop people from duping gambling items when the morally correct thing is to just get rid of gambling for items. They would rather rid the server of dropping items, shops, and using chests/barrels instead of just giving up on gambling, insane activity.

Plugins like Webauction must be too complicated for the server's target audience. Not relying on the inventory menu for trading would eliminate a huge exploit vector by itself.
