As funny as it would be to lag an admin so hard their pc bursts into flames, a lot would have to go right for that to happen. Minecraft Java only uses 1 CPU core, so the admin would have to have an old single-core CPU or a custom Javascript to trick Minecraft into thinking it's only using one core, and they'd have to have a shit heatsink, and be using overclocking and/or BIOS tweaking for a similar result.
SSundee should be well known for this because he has "owned" MANY servers that are just cash grabs and then soon they close down and it all starts again. Without even checking I can also tell you PatP is part of the staff team as he always has been for the past 3 or so years when they do these servers.
I think that he gets people to make servers with his face for popularity and he pays them through the earnings of the server and ssundee getting a cut too

Not confirmed but basically, SSundee doesnt really want there to be a P2W aspect in the server which uses his name/branding. You have to realise, its not HIS server, its his name on it. I dont believe this is primarily SSundee's fault, or at all especially since he mentioned to NOT buy the Loot Crates if you financially couldnt and removing them in his videos.

i used to be on this server back when i still had my minecraft account in 2017. seeing it devolve into this makes me feel bitter, but avenged at the same time watching this video and seeing the server crashing and burning second hand.

I disagree heavily. You throw a time limit on to a loot box that only has cosmetics and now you have a case of fomo. You are forcing everyone to buy a loot box (within a given timeframe) that has a less than 1% chance to get the good item. If they don't throw 2000$ at the game, they miss out on an item that may NEVER return. Thats bad and will ALWAYS be bad no matter the situation. Even without the timer, paid loot boxes are bad. If you are defending them, you are part of the problem. Cosmetic or not, lootboxes are bad.
I think you all trying to make a response are only rebutting the problem without clearly trying to solve the problem, this type of MMORPG like servers are made for massive amount of people to play and the creators earn money. The difference would be that you can by default win, you have all content (or 99% at minimum) free to use but you can pay to get it faster. This server isn’t that, purely pay to win, however a game that embodies “Pay to Win Faster” would be Helldivers 2, where only a single armor set and a single weapon is truly locked behind a paywall. Premium currency is super easy to farm in low difficulty missions, really don’t have to pay for it unless you want to *pay to win faster.*

Not really. Every minecraft server has P2W aspects otherwise they would simply, go bankrupt. Imagine how expensive, A. Server hostings ( A way to actually host a minecraft server ) B. The money needed to hire a dev team, Administrators and staff. C. Afford to upkeep expensive equipment to actually host the server ( Links with A ) and so many more reasons.
@@Dzalter I haven't owned a popular minecraft server before so im unaware of the hosting prices, but a quick google search brought up 50$ a month, even if that was 100$ to 200$ a month with the current prices of these P2W items they would make that back from like 3-4 people buying a rank pack. Similarly cant speak for dev teams or admins, but i do know alot of helpers and possibly moderator rolls are unpaid, devs and admins are likely to get a cut from the P2W sales. It is not impossible at all for a minecraft server to get by and even profit majorly while remaining strictly to cosmetics and or LIGHT P2W, for example perks (Chat color, tags, nickname commands, flight on skyblock servers, weapon skins with abilities, repair command, hat command, companions). the difference is they want to get as rich as possible, most servers have packs that grants god items, which F2P players couldnt even dream of acquiring after hundreds of gameplay hours, for obscene amouns of money, ranging from up to 90 to 100s of dollars. its unfortunate that Microsoft doesnt cut down on these but they probably get a percentage of all sales anyway so they dont care

As funny as it would be to lag an admin so hard their pc bursts into flames, a lot would have to go right for that to happen. Minecraft Java only uses 1 CPU core, so the admin would have to have an old single-core CPU or a custom Javascript to trick Minecraft into thinking it's only using one core, and they'd have to have a shit heatsink, and be using overclocking and/or BIOS tweaking for a similar result.

Not confirmed but basically, SSundee doesnt really want there to be a P2W aspect in the server which uses his name/branding. You have to realise, its not HIS server, its his name on it. I dont believe this is primarily SSundee's fault, or at all especially since he mentioned to NOT buy the Loot Crates if you financially couldnt and removing them in his videos.

I disagree heavily. You throw a time limit on to a loot box that only has cosmetics and now you have a case of fomo. You are forcing everyone to buy a loot box (within a given timeframe) that has a less than 1% chance to get the good item. If they don't throw 2000$ at the game, they miss out on an item that may NEVER return. Thats bad and will ALWAYS be bad no matter the situation. Even without the timer, paid loot boxes are bad. If you are defending them, you are part of the problem. Cosmetic or not, lootboxes are bad.
I think you all trying to make a response are only rebutting the problem without clearly trying to solve the problem, this type of MMORPG like servers are made for massive amount of people to play and the creators earn money. I dislike loot boxes and stuff yeah, but at least try to show a good alternative. If not cosmetics and obviously loot boxes, how do they stay positive? I don't have the numbers, but I don't know how profitable is a direct buying of cosmetics. The only premise of such servers is to get money and win economically over other players, which you can't do with such amount of pay to win items.
The difference would be that you can by default win, you have all content (or 99% at minimum) free to use but you can pay to get it faster.
This server isn’t that, purely pay to win, however a game that embodies “Pay to Win Faster” would be Helldivers 2, where only a single armor set and a single weapon is truly locked behind a paywall. Premium currency is super easy to farm in low difficulty missions, really don’t have to pay for it unless you want to *pay to win faster.*

Not really. Every minecraft server has P2W aspects otherwise they would simply, go bankrupt. Imagine how expensive, A. Server hostings ( A way to actually host a minecraft server ) B. The money needed to hire a dev team, Administrators and staff. C. Afford to upkeep expensive equipment to actually host the server ( Links with A ) and so many more reasons.
@@Dzalter I haven't owned a popular minecraft server before so im unaware of the hosting prices, but a quick google search brought up 50$ a month, even if that was 100$ to 200$ a month with the current prices of these P2W items they would make that back from like 3-4 people buying a rank pack. Similarly cant speak for dev teams or admins, but i do know alot of helpers and possibly moderator rolls are unpaid, devs and admins are likely to get a cut from the P2W sales.
It is not impossible at all for a minecraft server to get by and even profit majorly while remaining strictly to cosmetics and or LIGHT P2W, for example perks (Chat color, tags, nickname commands, flight on skyblock servers, weapon skins with abilities, repair command, hat command, companions). the difference is they want to get as rich as possible, most servers have packs that grants god items, which F2P players couldnt even dream of acquiring after hundreds of gameplay hours, for obscene amouns of money, ranging from up to 90 to 100s of dollars. its unfortunate that Microsoft doesnt cut down on these but they probably get a percentage of all sales anyway so they dont care

Some servers just have premium memberships or purely cosmetic things at a reasonable price (which actually convinces more people to buy things, who'd have thunk.)

It's kind of shocking seeing just how incompetent mods are on these servers. TPing to potential dupers with no vanish or spectator so they get tipped off, not coinspecting the chests to see who's actually depositing items, randomly banning everyone in the vicinity instead of at least trying to find the dupers, apparently not even just patrolling around to make sure there's no rule breakers, and no rollbacks? Genuinely what are they doing?
