    Just done mine with this exact same stain, the colour is really vivid and has totally revived my tired old deck, excellent product

    I hve used this product in same colour on previous 24yr old deck. Looked like new afterwards. Like a previous comment, we took away the hand rails. So much improvement. Looks more modern, less time staining and more open. You wnt regret it.

    Hi! Thanks for posting. Built my ducking last year and I'm looking looking paint it this year, how did this hold up? Iv heard some terrible stories and as my decking is a very large area I don't want to spend ages painting it to just have to strip it in a few months if it starts cracking/chipping etc. Many thanks!

      Hi thanks for watching. It's going to need an extra coat on the parts we walk on, each year to keep it looking fresh. But overall very happy with how it ages

      If recoating each year or whatever years later make sure to give light sanding and pressure wash/ dried before recoating for best finishing 😁

    How often does decking need to be refurbished?
    I recently moved into my new home and only got round to cleaning the decking with the jet washer yesterday. But I'm unsure whether it is worth painting it given that British Summer Time is almost over, as I'm unsure whether I would have to clean & paint the decking again next Spring.
    Would appreciate your thoughts.

      I've done it every few years. Haven't had to this year but next it might need the most walked on parts repainted.

    We used this product last summer in urban slate, looked great initially but started to peel and flake as soon as the cold weather came. 10 months on our decking looks worse than ever, will need to strip the stain off and start again with a different product. Easily worst paint/stain I’ve ever used.

  • @kevinjackson5191
    @kevinjackson5191 3 года назад +2

    Ok, so 6 months down the line how does it look? I ask because our decking looking almost identical in condition to yours, we cleaned it the same way and actually used the same stain. 2 weeks later it started to flake off. And we have about 3 x the amount of decking you have.
    The wife is about to redo it…..again and I feel it’s an utter waste of time. Go to Cuprinol etc and they advise about a 5 step process using all their products (naturally 🙄), but……. Maybe we should.

      Mine did as well ,anti slip. So i got in touch with Cuprinol and i had to send samples to them .They rejected my claim because they said i didn't use there cleaner first i said it was new decking,. Still rejected .So i have spent a few weeks stripping it of my new decking .Not using there product again

      @@andybb in case you’re interested, we switched to Ronseal, used their decking cleaner and reviver (green tub), it didn’t get all the previous paint off, but we let it dry for a day then applied 2 coats of Ronseal ultimate decking paint (not the stain’). Got to say it seems a better product that the Cuprinol. Might be worth a try.

      It's wearing really well. As it's a light colour it does need a brush and wash down to keep it clean looking sometimes but it's still much improved to what I had before

      @ashpo always use oil based stain , a pro advise, water based is actually paint will chip and crack like regular paint

    • @eduu2
      @eduu2 4 года назад +1

      @ashpo if u use water based in verticals fine such furnitures will last longer than horizontal boards.
      Anyways water based stain will always crack and peel because it stays on the surface of the wood it dont penetrate the wood.
      Oil based penetrates the wood it wont never peel or crack just fades, it is also easy to restain.

    I found it quite amusing. Could have been edited to 10% of the length. Most people know how to use a broom. Should have been 10 secs, sweep away leaves, 20 secs jet wash, 15 secs paint deck, 10 secs paint hand rail then 20 secs showing dried first coat and then the same panning around the finished effort with some close ups of the finish.
