I've been watching some of your wax pack opening videos and having a great time flashing back to the days when I was buying packs of cards. The smell of the bubble gum, the anticipatory thrill of wondering what players you'd get, I remember it all vividly. I was a baseball fan long before I was a card collector, so I knew who the players were when I opened the packs. The last set I bought was a 1992 Topps complete set, so I've been out of the hobby for many years. Great stuff here. Oh yeah, new subscriber too!

The card to look for in the 1977 Star Wars set is the C3PO error card.

Nice to see some older cards. Went shopping with the wife today and bought 3 2017 series one fat packs. Very last card of the 3 was the Aaron judge rookie. My first one, so it made my day.

Rite outta my childhood. From 76' on as a kid i opened thousands of packs back then. That candy store had packs from the 50's on. 75' definitely was my most favorite and still is. In 1976 I can still remember all the 50's boxes lined up, then the 60's into the 70's. As kids we wanted the newest cards available and despised the older cards thinking who wants those. Anyhow gr8 video!

Those are very nice vintage Topps packs and nearly every card looked in Near Mint condition. I think the 1976 pack was from the traded set or included random traded cards, like the Rusty Staub. I hope Dave Parker gets into the HOF, he is very deserving of it. Great video Erik.

17:00 They pushed the locker from 1973 on. I bought one in 1974 as an 8-year old for $2 (about half the cost of a box of packs).

That was an awesome break. nothing great, but a ton of memories from when I was 9 till 11 years old. Forgot the 76 pack I was 7.

You have a couple of those Star Wars cards worth good money graded, Erik. I would sleeve them all up. PSA Collector has a video on his channel with the most expensive Star Wars cards sold to date.

Man....those are some SHARP CARDS. I would be ordering from that place Jabs....Those cards were about the best condition I have seen in old packs. The gum is even pristine.
If there is a chance for a Gem Mint 10 Ozzie Smith....those are the packs

I was struck by the 76 pack that had a traded card included (Rusty Stain). I thought it might be a poorly done re-pack, however, I checked cardboard connection and in later printings they randomly inserted the Traded cards into the base set. Interesting.

Man I used to walk down to the liquor store to buy packs of cards in 1977. The owner of the store used to play for the Angels. I'm trying to remember his name.
It was Andy Etchebarren, who played for the Orioles and them the Angels in the 60s and 70s. Wonder if my mom threw out the cards? She says she didnt. I collected from 76-early 80s. Just got back into collecting with my 11 year old thanks to this channel

If I had a time machine I would go to the early 1900s and get a ton of cards of baby ruth, Ted Williams, shoeless Joe, etc. And try and get some autos or memorabilia

How is that even possible? Never seen Star War I am now super sad for you the three movies from 70s and 80s movies are the most see.
The Ruth card from the first pack is actually not a bad pull... it's listed as one of the more valuable cards from the set. The article says a PSA 8 was going for around $25... not to shabby.

Jabs I have a suggestion for you if you ever go up to Niagara Falls again. There is a place called Niagara Sports Cards that is smaller than Dave and Adams but possibly better. The owner is nice and very knowledgeable,there is a great selection of recent and vintage singles and packs and there is also graded cards unlike Dave and Adams.

Just a side note. Pete Rose did not always have that awful bowl hair cut. In the 60's he always had a flat top hair cut.
i have some of the old star wars cards. but mine werent green. some were red some were ble and some were a different design
They had different colors by series, so for example the green ones are series 4

6:00 4th series Star Wars. The Blue first series is the best one. 2nd series was red and third was yellow.
