Let me sum up all of these videos, including this one. CIG is making more ships without gameplay loops, and they are "working on" a bunch of cool stuff that's not in the PTU and won't be next year, and won't be the year after that, and I wouldn't hold your breath for 5 years from now. Meanwhile, Jesus tech is "soon", Server meshing, scheduled first for 2014, then 2018 (then 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24), won't be this year either; and SQ42 is "almost done".

Instead of making more ships why dont they work on finishing the game so it can be released as a complete game? and then make more ships on later updates??? Still waiting on a full release. And its taking so long cause they are focusing on stalling completing the game.
CIG has ships in the pipeline that have not been released and they are teasing people with new ones. I have read etc. that people are waiting for example the Liberator, Apollo and some talk about the Odyssey name a few. If CIG pumped these out then the new ones people would see some hope. Other then that people will continue stating what a money grab scam star citizen is.
Equally, CIG has not yet released 3.24 LIVE, yet they are promoting 4.0/1.0. Its what CIG do, they need to keep backers from loosing hope, and not playing the game, they also release a lot of techno babble around patch time and when there are issues. Its a technique they have mastered over the years. In not being critical of CIG, they would be long gone if they didn't, yet many are short sighted and easily gushed. There is no wipe for 3.24, and backers should be concerned with that simple fact, NO WIPE means features are not being implemented or pushed back, hence they have no need to upgrade the code.
@@davewills148 that last part of that is just completely wrong lol a wipe is not an indicator of new features. im not happy with sc and i dont think many are, but no need to make up lies when there are plenty of truths to discuss.

Static mission givers are of course boring. Once done, it's just repetition. But dynamic ones are difficult to program in such a way that they remain interesting. People quickly see through the patterns according to which they are constructed. CIG would then have to have someone who constantly maintains, adapts, changes and renews them. Unless we find out how a real AI can generate this. Let's see how development progresses in this regard.
CIG always going out of their way to introduce unnecessary stress. As if the fact that an enemy ship has damaged my ship component is not bad enough, now I have to get punished for it by the dead component magically consuming resources? That's one of the brightest ideas I've heard so far! Meanwhile, we still don't have any cameras or aids to landing the ships professionally. It's all guesswork but hey, let's frustrate them more and pretend these "curses" are nice features SMH! Also, it looks like in the future millennia, things get dumber and dumber, and we cannot walk and chew gum at the same time. In nav mode, you can't protect yourself. The sim is already 10+ years in development but CIG keeps outdoing themselves in stupidity. Anyone remember "hHoVeRrrrMoDE"?! Meanwhile we have a thousand ships that are not yet done but lets introduce 300 more. What is wrong with these people? There is nothing futuristic about this sim. Technology is in regression. Weapons hanging underneath ships like anyone in 1930 seeing this asininity would laugh their heads off, yet it the year 2954. Shoot 3 rounds and wait 5 hours for the futuristic gilded gun (cabling and wiring all exposed to the elements and all) to cool off. Makes a lot of sense.

One worry I still have about making us do things in quantum that requires moving around is that is still buggy. We still get kicked out of the ship while it is still quantum. So I made the choice to not move around. If they make us do engineering during this time, and we still get thrown out of the ship, that is a real issue.

Sorry if this has been asked before but, where can one find the full storyline/cut scene videos that you show in your videos? The work done is so beautiful, I'd like to see the originals in their entirety. Is this possible?

I don't understand how master mode can be logically applied to a ship with full ballistic weapon system (that does not require energy to function.... just mechanical trigger and bullets)
Co-Pilot seat needs to have some sort of pilot option. What if your pilot dies or its a better position for landing. The corsair co-pilot seat would work better for planet side flying/landing.

They are always talking about progress, but the servers are trash, NPCs are trash, the economy is trash, players/containers clip through the floor, there`s no reputation, no player progression, no mission progression, no ship balance, no meaning in farming loot, no sense in multicrew with such powerful 1-seaters.... Yet, we must always believe they are "making progress". It`s always some dumb thing, like "flames in your ship" or "new ships to be sold!". This adds almost zero to the gameplay! @@matuto1986 I'm not trying to be contrarian or anything, but it's a game in development.. development is done by many teams, and they each have their focus. Software developers and game developers in particular are not cookie cut to identical standards, by necessity since many tasks are done in very different ways. Concept artists aren't asked to refine net code, typically, is kind of my point. The various pieces of this puzzle are not *fighting* each other to be next to get put in place, they're working together to guide the puzzle solving itself. If a feature gets cut from a patch, it's usually because it wasn't ready. But in terms of constructively how is the game built, consider the Ironclad: it's a much newer concept than the Krakken, but it exists because they realized making the Krakken is such a big job, they need to build a library of Drake style bits and bobs in the 'massive' size category. To flush out the Drake esthetic at that scale, the Ironclad offers a smaller platform to more quickly iterate and develop the style libraries on a working asset. Like it helps to render it working in game at various steps in development, so with any game asset, map, vehicle, whatever, it always makes sense to streamline towards an entity the game can load, however unfinished the piece. That's how you troubleshoot your design.
@@matuto1986 as for fire not impacting gameplay? People are begging for multicrew gameplay to become more relevant, not that it isn't already an advantage.. fire is a part of engineering gameplay, which is the strongest incentive for teaming up I've seen them add so far. Overheating components are going to cause fires if they get hot enough, conversely setting a fire might overheat some components. It will get people interacting with the engineering panels, and if I had to guess, exploration, science, and data running will borrow some of the work done there when their turn comes up. Which it will. I get that SC has taken way longer than expected to finish, but once Squadron 42 became feature complete last fall, CIG moved a bunch more developers back to working on the PU. It's in the neighborhood of 800+ if I'm not mistaken, which I totally might be. Either way it's way more devs than have been on it for something over 5 years prior.
@@graphite7473I'm with you, my friend. Still, it's very frustrating! We've been hearing that “Pyro is coming” for 6 years now, and to be honest, I don't really care about Pyro. I worry about Servermeshing (considering this is their promise to fix desyncs, braindead NPCs, and poor server performance). Furthermore, the fire is just another tax to be levied on the already cannon fodder multicrew. CIG just focused on milking money from ships that they forgot that there must be balance between them. Currently, it doesn't make sense to fly anything other than an F7A if you expect a fight (P2win much?) and wasting manpower on turrets/engineering will only make things worse (turrets are undersized and hard to hit). Having too much power under in fast moving single seaters really ruined the game. Regarding art, we know that CIG is the best in this regard and deserves all the praise. I have nothing to complaim about this team and I really hope they reuse assets/mashes to speed up other systems. Still, after 10 years of development, all we have is a buggy mess and beautiful screenshots. CIG needs to show progress related to gameplay OR release ANYTHING related to SQ42 very soon, before people completely lose interest in this game. I myself spent almost a year away from it after the 3.18 mess, only to come back and see that the ONLY gameplay added was salvage (which is really cool, tbh). Everything else was just related to quality of life, expected to a game this size (and don't get me started on those stupid "DiStRiBuTiOn CeNteRs", aka big bunkers). In short, my hope is that 4.0 will raise the bar on server and game quality, and I'm praying that it doesn't end up being just a red stanton.
lol. 1.0 update. It’s hard to update something that won’t be released in the next 10 years. We are about to go into 2025 still “On the road to Pyro” that was coming 5 years ago, and that’s just 1 star system. I repeat 1 star system. I have had high hopes for this game for a long time as a supporter but every year just keeps proving that quiet voice in the back of mind that says this game may never actually release, correct. Please support the game if you like it. I know I have, but please do not listen to anyone from CIG or anywhere else that wants you to believe this game will be released in under 10 more years.
There will be a tipping point were folks recognize that there is no game here yet. Like the old Soviet Union... ruled for 70's yrs with an iron fist, then in 3 months all the air went out of the balloon. How SC thinks it is ok to work on new ships while Rome burns is amazing.

The last bit is pure fiction on your part
@@QuotidianStupidity Fiction? So you are claiming that CIG hasn't claimed that SQ42 is "feature complete" and that if we "hold the line" it's "soon"?
That's either ignorant or dishonest of you.
@@jerrylove865 The bulk of the second paragraph is not about SQ, it is about Server Meshing, and they have been very coy on giving any dates on this for years.
In regard to SQ, it probably is feature complete as was announced fairly recently, which is why most of the teams no longer work on it.
Neither of these things requires ignorance or dishonesty to be true, but your comment makes you sound like an angry toddler.
@@QuotidianStupidity You said "last bit", I answered "last bit" and now you are blaming me because you misspoke and calling me an angry toddler?
I'm not the one failing to take responsibility for my own words and name-calling. It seems your accusation is admission.
They have been coy, careful to make sure that everyone heard something when they didn't say it. Did you "heed the call"? Do you remember "By the end of this year backers will have everything they originally pledged for plus a lot more"?
And they are being just as coy now. They are playing the same games they did in 2023 (which was to have server meshing Q2 originally), and in 2022, and 2020, and really every year.
I'm sorry this reality triggers you. It certainly doesn't make me happy. But your white knighting doesn't help anyone, including (based on your chose to move to name calling) you.
@@jerrylove865 I’m not blaming you because I misspoke, that’s a completely disjointed logical path if ever I’ve read one. People getting angry at the games progress do sound like angry toddlers, in the grand scheme of things it’s not important.
Show me where SM was stated to be in by Q2 2023?
I’m no white night, I will push back on the game when it’s fair, but I will also call people out for saying things which are incorrect, usually because they just want to vent
CIG has said awhile ago that they don't want to release ships without it's gameplay, so a number of ships don't have the game play for them or in some cases the tech that is needed for those ships and features.
@@davewills148 CIG has stated many times, they try not to wipe unless they have to, so it doesn't mean features won't be implemented since they can add those without a wipe.

So this Charge and Drain system...Does that mean if your ship gets EMP'd or Distortioned and shuts down, you have the potential to recharge your ships power system and repair back to working state? Cause at current, EMP basically just puts your ship in a pseudo soft death state. At least it did, when I last tested EMP.
I wouldn't count on it working, but it could be a thing to go and kickstart the powerplant to fix an EMP shutdown.

The shields should thin out during jumping but then regen while in jump, but never gone completely.

My worry with the economy is that somehow ends up like irl economy, where someone is able to just break it and become a billionaire, we have enough with one dystopia.
That's exactly why it's designed NOT to be a player-driven economy. CIG are gods of the Verse. Player economic power can't get out of control because CIG can always just fudge the numbers or even target folks with cataclysms and such. This will not be Eve 2.0.
I have plot armor so we'll see about that.

I hate it when my ship is not running “all tickety-boo”. 😂

Completely losing shields when switching to nav mode would only make sense if nav mode was substantially faster than scm. If the speeds stay as is, they should drop shields 50% for nav mode if at all.
Why would anyone want to spend money on ships when the damn game still does not work?? When will the Devs get their heads out of their asses and fix the bugs and playability/server meshing issues FIRST!?! C'Mon Man!
In fact I'm starting to think that sooner or later there will be a real stance by us Citizens. The game is broken, the ships sold are not worked on, always new concepts, The patch of the year that we will almost certainly not see this year either...
Thanks Mac, I love the updates.
Cool, crazy progress? Let's see. Oh, hairstyles, animals and new vehicles.
See you in another six months I guess.

One worry I still have about making us do things in quantum that requires moving around is that is still buggy. We still get kicked out of the ship while it is still quantum. So I made the choice to not move around. If they make us do engineering during this time, and we still get thrown out of the ship, that is a real issue.

Having a fire system seems kinda cool ngl.
looking forward to the changes in 3.24. My only complaint so far about 3.24 is, I don't like the idea of Inventory being its own thing on terminals. I honestly prefer the way it is now. Others may have their own opinions on this, but that is my 2 cents.
Sorry if this has been asked before but, where can one find the full storyline/cut scene videos that you show in your videos? The work done is so beautiful, I'd like to see the originals in their entirety. Is this possible?
Everytime I heard "soon you will have" .... Oh.. you mean in another 10 years 😢
Looking forward to it all! Thanks for another informative video!
You should see most of it ready in the next 10 years.
I give this game another ten years before launch
I am trying to use the mole solo, and they need a mining target lock system for the pilot's seat. Also, I am frustrated when mining and the server lags (which is all the time) while the fracking laser is on. You usually blow the rock up and manage your vehicle. It's very frustrating.
It is absolutely essential that CIG give us the option to toggle ship and player name tags OFF.
Still sad that my ship (endeavor) is gonna be one of the last ships built.
I'd love to see more wildlife in the game.
We need roads in star citizen.. huge 100km long roads from one place to another,
To limit the spaceship access , forcing players to park your ship next to a road and get your vechicle and drive to a location..
Idk its just roads are important yet they are nowhere to be found in star citizen.
Or fly to a location and drive a vechicle with cargo on a busy road.. idk
really wish you would use time stamps in your videos. very frustrating not having them.

Is no one going to talk how different the freelancer looks? Are those extra fuel tanks?
When they say three new, it could just be one new ship but 3 different variants
clicked around the video but can't watch it anymore why are we talking about 1.0 if they can't manage to deliver 0.4 and had to be postponed, why to even talk about what they plan if after a year they still didn't delivered what was promised and those few things we get are in Tier0 which most of time doesn't work or is miles away from what was shown we should get...
Someone wake me up when there's server meshing and something to do.
Thanks my friend
I’m thinking unless they rush, at this rate, alpha 4.12 will be 1.0 release

We are about to go into 2025 still “On the road to Pyro” that was coming 5 years ago, and that’s just 1 star system. I repeat 1 star system.
