- We're making good headway as we're getting deep into drag racing off season in the Northwest. I had an exciting week as both my full refreshed and re-honed small block Chevy block is complete, along with a fully refreshed turbo 400 (TH400) transmission and converter! In this video we go pick up both the engine and transmission and go over some of the things found while they were being refreshed. My 1971 Chevy Nova race car is going to be back and better than ever in 2024.

I missed it. What made your nova go slower on your last passes? Was it just the blower heat?
Correct, just the blower and carb getting heat soaked with race gas. Switching to E85 to hopefully help that issue!
