Thank you for all this valuable info and details! You convinced me! I hope as an IMG getting into med/derm is possible 🤞🏻🤞🏻, I’m going to try my best to ace the USMLE steps exams and hopefully I can get a rotation in derm and IM before match 2021 😉
This was an awesome video, and it was very helpful for those of us that were on the fence about applying derm or medicine! Thanks again!
Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you for this information! This was really helpful!
This was so helpful! I'm a rising MS2 and interested in applying into derm, but I didn't really understand what med-derm was like. Thank you for sharing about your experience!
I’m actually stuck between cardiology and dermatology, so this video is perfect!
I feel like there’s SOOOO much info u guys need to know as derm internists holy shoot 🤯
I have the same interest. Really appreciated your valuable video.
I liked, I subbed and I shared! WoW literally this specialty is tailored to my dreams. Now anyone tell me please how can I get in as an IMG. No! I NEEEEEED to get in MedDerm it was created for me

Hi. Do u think it is possible for an IMG to match into Med/Derm Program as opposed to straight derm program where IMGs almost never match?
And thanks for providing a great insight!
Of course it’s possible! That said, MedDerm is perhaps a bit more Competitive Than Straight derm programs because you have to impress both the dermatology and medicine program leadership, so in general it might be more competitive for allcomers.
Are there any family medicine and anesthesiologists combined residency
Is it possible for IMG with good credentials to match into combinedmed derm residency and be able to match ?
Yes, of course it's possible! Just remember it's super competitive already, so there's no guarantee. It really depends on the details of your application.
So what are the scores for usmle required for these combined programs? Is it according to internal medicine or dermatology?
There are only 5 programs, but in general I think of them as being as competitive if not more competitive than derm programs - so I'd compare to derm.
