I know it's weird, but my favorite thing in the world is to look at different classes each college has and I love scheduling classes for college so this video made me very happy
Here we are, 2020, pandemic, zoom classes everywhere and still...99% of the time the class quality depends on how "fond" you are of the teacher, or TAs. As a teacher myself (high school and college professor) I dedicate my time towards being a better human, so I can be a better teacher. I see that other teachers think that they don't need to be better, or they just need to study more and improve in academics. No! Have a good teacher, that's likeble, fun and "human" is half of the way towars creating a good learning space. ❤️ By the way, Nina, you're not just MIT, we like your channel because of you...MIT it's a consequence! Keep doing you! All tue best from a teacher in Brazil!
I can definitely attest to that as a student. I enjoy classes much more when I like and can get along well with the teachers. I especially appreciate teachers who show a lot of care for their students' success.
So hilarious about that ranting against the Microecon TA and specially that should-have-been-anonymous censuring on the opt methods class. Made my night!
Just watched your admissions openings. Thought I'd see how you're doing now. Immediately you're even more self-deprecating. Hope that's good, cause you really got it in buckets. The reason everyone does the best they can, all the time......is because that's what all living things do. They can't help it. The hard-wire coding is: survive...and the only known way, is to thrive. You're doing the best you can....ALL THE TIME!
Now I remember why I subbed, for this kinda content. Slagging off shitty modules is a motive, should do the same for my biomedical course, everything would be at the bottom.
When you talked about your Micro, I felt that for my Macro class. My professor talked for the whole 90 minutes about NOTHING but our assignments were straight math 🤦🏾♀️
I am not even from the US ,don't study these subjects, have no interest in MIT but still I love watching every video of this channel ✨❤️ she is so charming and I love the editing.
I’m so glad you did this :) I’m so excited for my fall classes this year because I’m taking full on psychology courses and intro to race, class and ethics lol you’re awesome Nina 🥰💯😎🤓
Omfg I had the same experience with my microeconomics class. We weren’t taught any of the math and only the concepts and ofc the problem sets were only math
Nina. I have that same exact chair. Tell it is not one of the most uncomfortable chairs out there. It literally gave me back problems within 2 months of getting it 😪
Nina I love this idea so much! I was wondering if it’d be alright if I try this concept for Stanford classes/experiences? (I’ll definitely make sure to give you credit!)
Hmm I also just finished my first year in computer science, Interesting how different it was. Of course most courses have useless filler crap like econ, business, workplace OB, which is a waste of time imo. Nothing more to say about that but did you have programming fundamentals in semester 2? What about people who have never coded before in highschool? I feel like this should be first semester. Also im curious how calc and physics would help in cs. I dont think you need that much knowledge to do well. My Math class in first semester was a lot about Binary arithmetic like 110101 x 100100, set theory and using python for data science, nothing too hard. Other than that, programming fundamentals with java, Also C and c++, database, SQL PLSQL, ya know stuff thats actually needed in a programming job. We also has an easier class on Operating systems, but it was pretty basic.
Yeah this sounds more focused, lots of schools like mit require you to take more general courses freshman year, umich is the same way (where I’m headed)
Hey Nina. What are you planning on taking next term/year? Will you be taking 5.11 or 3.091? Also, you can take pre-approved classes at BU and Harvard Extension School for automatic MIT math credit. math.mit.edu/academics/undergrad/first/transfer/summer-credit.php
If I were to apply for a 2024 class, and as a freshman, if I say I haven't taken any AP classes because my school doesn't have those classes, it's gonna affect my application badly, no?
I’m not an AP Student& I’m an international Student but I want to get in top colleges in the states. I want to learn AP Physics 1&2 by myself and take the exam. I will also be taking SAT (maybe ACT) and IELTS (maybe TOEFL). I’m probably one of the few ones to do it initially. Please help me, can you give me some advises. Should I take the AP exam? I don’t have anyone near me to talk about it or give me some advise. I really want to do what is beneficial :)
Very informative video! May I know what are you majoring in since in other video I watched, I see that you are having intership at hospital?? Is there any specific requirements to intern at hospital?
11:00 ᵒᵐᵍ my h/anatomy and physiology teacher would try to connect her family to the concepts and tbh I didn’t get the connections. What did she want us to do on the test talk abt her family?
What are you studying? I am from CR and I don’t understand the higher educational system of USA, sorry is the question isn’t right but i really love your videos
I know it's weird, but my favorite thing in the world is to look at different classes each college has and I love scheduling classes for college so this video made me very happy

Yass Julia!! It does take some getting used to, but imo it's much better than python in many ways (e.g. speed, scientific computing, etc)
