She is currently 13 (9 in this performance) - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through RUclips videos and started studying all the greats from Jazz history. - Angelina always sings barefoot..... When Angelina was 6, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. The girl complimented her on her pretty shoes, so Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl. She made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public she sings barefoot to remind us that there less fourtunate people in the world that could use our help. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 100 songs over the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. I would only like to add that English is Angelina's third language, after Norwegian & possibly Persian/Iranian, the language of her grandmother. The first time your baryton voice caught my attention was when you first discovered the video from the Greenday concert when Bohemian rhapsody was played on the loudspeakers while the roadies set up the stage. One of the best videos i've seen on youtube. So when I found another amaising youtube moment, and searched for her videos, your face appeared again. Even more amazed. Angelina Jordan must be one of the greates voices out there. And her future hopefully reaches far beyond youtube. A talent never seen in mothern times. In a world where people try to outdo each other by seeing who can be meaner and more callous, it's refreshing to hear someone who is just genuinely happy for someone else. You nailed it: how great for her to know her calling so early in life. I think, even more importantly, unlike many who figure out their calling and go on their natural abilities, she puts in a LOT of work to make it look effortless. She is constantly in the studio, sharpening her natural tools, and she is currently learning music theory, so we haven't even seen the tip of the iceberg yet. She has great things ahead and for those of us who have been following her journey, it's been a real treat!

Her version of Ella Fitzgerald's "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye" put tears in my eyes as I saw Ella sing it way back in the 60's. The first time your baryton voice caught my attention was when you first discovered the video from the Greenday concert when Bohemian rhapsody was played on the loudspeakers while the roadies set up the stage. One of the best videos i've seen on youtube.
So when I found another amaising youtube moment, and searched for her videos, your face appeared again. Even more amazed.
Angelina Jordan must be one of the greates voices out there.
And her future hopefully reaches far beyond youtube. A talent never seen in mothern times.

In a world where people try to outdo each other by seeing who can be meaner and more callous, it's refreshing to hear someone who is just genuinely happy for someone else. You nailed it: how great for her to know her calling so early in life. I think, even more importantly, unlike many who figure out their calling and go on their natural abilities, she puts in a LOT of work to make it look effortless.
She is constantly in the studio, sharpening her natural tools, and she is currently learning music theory, so we haven't even seen the tip of the iceberg yet. She has great things ahead and for those of us who have been following her journey, it's been a real treat!

She’s from Norway. 9yr old with the voice of an angel. She won Norway Got Talent at the age of 7yrs. She sing barefooted cause she befriended a young girl at the age of 6 that didn’t have shoes and she gave her shoes to the girl right on the spot. She has written a book, makes her own clothes and does a lot of charity concerts.

Her grandmother is mery Zamani an Iranian artist. Mery tuned her onto jazz hunts, and is her video manager. Angelina started singing at 18 months old, won a couple of local competitions, started recording in studio at age 5, won norways got talent at age 8, recorded this at age 9, she is now 13. Not bad seeing english is her 3rd language, she plays 3 instruments, and is the youngest author to publish a book in Norway, story is about the girl with no shoes and it is illustrated by her grandmother. Her heritage is norwedian, swedish, japanese and iranian

Angelina was born in January 2006. She is Norwegian. She won Norway's Got Talent at 8 yeays old singing songs like 'Gloomy Sunday' (Billy Holiday) and Summertime composed by Gershwin. She has specialised in jazz and sings songs made famous by Sinatra, Fitzgerald and many others. Her version of Ella Fitzgerald's "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye" put tears in my eyes as I saw Ella sing it way back in the 60's.
Angelina performs barefoot because she visited India with her Mum and saw a street child walking barefoot, since then she goes barefoot on stage as a sign of respect for those who cannot afford footwear.
She is singing in her third language!She is the greatest vocalist ever. This just scatches the surface of her abilities .She also is a generous soul who donates a lot to child charities as she was shocked at the tender age of 6 at the plight of third world kids.She was 13 last Jan. I put a spell on you was the first video I saw and for a long time it was my favourite. Then came The Show Must Go On and my brain was in turmoil until commonsense took over and I decided that ALL of Angelina's performances were my favourite. I still remember that I was shocked in a positive way, and I have ever since that time been a fan. A fan of a child. I wouldn't believed it if you had asked me 10 years ago. I have never been interested in the jazz music genre , but Angelina's interpretations of old jazz music classics has "opened my eyes" for that kind of music for sure, and in a way "touched me".
In the past year she has posted some great covers of modern music as well.
