Some guy legit reinvented a plate... a bowl... no, a plate. These Kickstarter are whacky.
Kickstarter used to be full of many dumb ideas, scams, and even drama. Kickstarter Crap was my all-time favorite series back in the day and I thought I'd go check out some crappy Kickstarters myself.
You can check these out yourselves here:

Eating soup on that plate would also mean it gets colder a lot faster too as it's a wider surface and shallower.
Wait, what type of surface?

I hate you for this,
Comrade.😆
comrade!! God bless commuism our soup indeed
This did not age well
Unironicly based.
hahaha communizm funny am i right guys???
That plate is the dumbest crap ever.
Soup plates already exist. They have a concave shape around the bottom, allowing you to reach all of the soup with a regular table spoon. What did this guy do? Make sharp edges. What an absolute genius.
This. So many people fixating on eating soup on a plate being wrong when soup plates already exist and are most times better than what that kickstarter was selling.
But but but don't you find it hateful? :(
I have never thought of soup being hateful before, it always seemed pretty relaxed to me.
clearly you've never seen Seinfeld
@@noah4822 NO *SOUP* FOR YOU

Ill give that last kickstarter an A for effort. At least they have some shit done and physically in existence
"To stop global war" - Ukraine Kickstarter
This aged like fine milk.
big yikes
Ahahah holy just wanted to comment, but after reading your comment i rewinded the video a little bit and they are based in Ukraine ahahahha the foreshadowing.
Ukies DO think they are the globe. Perfect match for their US supporters.
You can't make this up, it's crazy.
This all because you didn't fund their kikstarter 🤨
7:28 "You've got your phone on a stand, upside down..."
Wouldn't it auto-rotate the screen?
**flips phone**
Well that's disappointing...
Hey...hear me out. What if, you could heat up your soup in the solar mug, then pour it in your oblique plate for complete maximum comfort? That way you can answer your jewelry phone while in a good mood to promote peace on Earth.
Sometimes they make the Kickstarter intentionally low so it gets funded quick enough to add “Kickstarter funded/ backed” promos to their website or product. Which gets people talking as to makes it seem like a lot of people support their product, when in reality it could be $5 entirely funded by Jim from accounting.
boy wouldnt i kill to have first world problems
And first world money.
The last kickstarter is actually a good concept, it’s just that they are trying to cram in too much tech with it being able to answer calls which is impractical with the form factor. Just extra storage and batteries would be fine, not that I’d wear it as I don’t really wear jewellery in general. If they came up with more practical uses then I might actually be interested in pledging.
Honestly yeah, i constantly carry a portable charger the size of my phone and cords, so if i could just wear it instead i would look a lot less stupid without my bulging pockets
@@cinnamoncat8950 the only reason i dont allows go out with my portable charger is because it quite uncomfortable to have in my pocket so having something like that is not bad at all
There's just something so sci-fi about technology in your jewelry. I love the idea but sadly these people look like they went about it all wrong but to be fair, I wouldnt do much better
A USB flash drive that's
Idk a ring
@@churchofeg yeah, a flash drive and powerbank that is wearable would surely have a market.
A bit late to this party, but I suspect that mug is some attempt at a kickstarter bot. The pledge items could all be fulfilled with print-to-demand drop-shipping services, and are all priced for very high margins even on low volumes, the funding threshold is set such that even one pledge probably causes the project to be funded, and there's no requirement to actually make a product. The description is super-generic and feels like it could be put together with even a pretty rudimentary text synthesis program, and the title is some easily-permutable word salad of ideas. So, a human just hunts for videos that look like pitches, makes up a title, has GPT2 barf up a couple of paragraphs of vaguely-relevant nonsense and automatically sends some merch with the thumbnail on it to anyone who bites so they're not technically breaking Kickstarter's rules. You could easily generate hundreds of 'projects' like this in a day. Is this a good scam? Probably not; crowd-funding is definitely on the wrong side of the hype curve by now. But, there's an awful lot of scammers out there, and some of them are bound to try and move into suboptimal niches, and some of them probably already have the pipeline for automatically generating P2D merch from trending images, which is most of the effort here.
Reddit is full of bots like this.
They search for popular image posts, then repost them photoshopped onto a shirt and the link the store page which is actually a print on demand in disguise.
The clever bots even search for people using the word "t-shirt" under an image post and then auto reply the store link (or something like "click my profile for buying" to avoid spam filters)
Where there is money there are scammers.
Even things that seem more work than it's worth.
Also the fact it comes from Camden nj ain’t a good look either 💀
Worst thing is, the "oblique plates" already exist as a concept and are used exactly for the same purpose, AND ARE STILL CALLED BOWLS!!!
The bracelet thing looks like something no one would get, but everyone would look at it and say "that's kind of interesting."
The last project was a good idea/product with a completely deranged campaign.
My toaster got two cameos! 🙏😫 I’m practically canon

Ok, what about that phone that you store near your crotch or in your bra, we all know what happened to the note 7
@@steelfox1448 And you have batteries in ur gayass ipods so...
Seriosuly though. A battery pack of any utility would weigh a relative ton and wearing it on you just in case goin bout your daily routine is just a stupid concept.
It really blows my fukn mind how delusional people can be. Like the cup guy he really sat down and wrote out that if you donate 1000 dollars you get a fukn bag and he thought people was gonna love it. And don’t even get me started on the plate.
Always remember: technically a 5 year old running a lemonade stand is an entrepreneur
For the 30 vs 40,000 goal, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did that so they could get the “FUNDED IN 30 MINUTES” type of thing on KS to try and get it to the front page.
Pretty sure the bowl was invented that way so we could tilt it back and drink the remaining liquid. Like normal peope.
8:46 🤯 it made it. Oh my...
Wow. Thank you, Comrade.
I swear my allegiance.

If it's solar powered why does it need a 9V battery? Thoses are usually not rechargable and if it was why would you need to take it out? Is the cup so powerfull it just keeps charging?
Solar Power, specifically solar panels, actually takes considerable area to actually take energy. Like for example, to power an average apartment, you'd need atleast double that apartment's width for it to work. small solar panels can't power stuff by itself, because if it did. Our phones would have solar panels built into them. It's why the cup has a battery (@_@;)
@@randomyoutubecomment7404 I know that's why the claim that it's solar powered is false it's clearly powered by the 9V block
@@hungryhedgehog4201 So the solar panel is just to look cool. wow
I thought it was just going to charge the battery and use that storages energy.
didn't occur to me that a 9V is not rechargeable.
I think the 9V battery is there as an alternative for the solar panels, in case it's cloudy or you're inside. Lots of calculators, for example, also had solar panels as well as a battery as a backup in case the solar panels aren't enough. ...Of course, the whole product concept is stupid, and the solar panels won't be enough no matter what, but I think that's the reasoning behind it
With 326 spare bucks, I think I rather hire some kid that runs to the coffeeshop and gets me a fresh cup of hot coffee.
This is like my new favorite channels, i also choose the plate.
I'm offended that putting soup in a cup was not an option.
I'm really enjoying the content you are creating, keep up the good work!
The Jewlery Tech Kickstarter should work for some Government type deal and help them make covert spy stuff! Don't see the use of most of this stuff besides that? Cool gadgets though I guess! FUTUREE FUTURRREEE
Nothing new, they just combining obtainable parts.
getting shares in a new company is such a pointless idea that there's a whole episode of the simpsons about how pointless it is.
3:21 Research about the *SUN* for a mug lol
That “last layer of soup you can’t get” is not a problem that is not a thing that exists, I mean you could sip a plate too it’s weird sure but it’s weird to Eat soup from a plate in the first place
That last one is a decent idea and concept. They mostly captured peoples attention only just to scare away everyone that not a contortionist.
ah. the jewlery looks awful but it really isn't a terrible concept.
The last one I think is actually an interesting idea that could work.
Also it has me thinking about the Goa'uld arm weapon from Stargate-S1. Just a fancy bracelet that screws with your enemies.
kickstarter is one of those platforms that can make banger board/video games and some other things, but you should just always avoid every tech/physical product there since almost all of them are scams.
especially since they always low-ball the required budget.
there is a type of plate called a soup plate.. that guy at the start reinvented the soup plate.
I feel like this makes it HARDER to collect the soup at the bottom.
That solar mug sounds like a super niche thing, but I can see where it's useful.
But tbf, the photo of the hand grabbig the mug is marketable. I'ts bad, but in a good way.
3:39 ITS HIM!
nice video by the way
Damn, I'm really interested on the last kickstarter, seems to be a great idea actually!
This is absolute gold, laughed way too much lol
A solar powered hot cup??? WOW!!! If only a cup like that already existed, like a... Thermos, or... Oh.

Isn't the soup plate just a deep plate? Like those already exist lmao

2:44 the spacing is probably because people may use thick winter gloves while handling the thermos.
Not a bad explanation. But even the thickest gloves aren't the kind of hand duvets that the mug expects them to be.

more Kickstarter please, makes me laugh so much
My favorite kickstarters were the cookie dunking cup that's designed to let you dunk cookies with 100% efficiency and the phone attachment that let's you make coffee with your phone, in case you're such a coffee addict you want to risk your phone, your pants and your hand.
The solar panel cup seems to be way to over engineered. A solar panel has an efficiency of arounf 20%, so in an ideal case, 20% of the energy input by the sun is made into heat. I could imagine that just making a part of the outside black would nearly have the same heating efficiency, as the black part might have less actual heating efficiency but it would at the same time absorb a little more sunlight. Also it would be way cheaper
Honestly that last one was pretty cool. And its a modern way to see jewelry, I agree that the marketing was... strange. But, the ideas were sound. I would buy a USB bracelet if it meant I could have a charger that wasn't completely fucking ass to carry around AND looks decent to wear? Not bad. I hope they get the funding they need in the future. If you are interested like me, They now have an Indiegogo that you can support them at.
Oblique plate is legit a bowl lmfao nice. Soup would be so hard to eat off a plate
Oi, that mug already exists on Amazon lol
well they got the war thingy quite right tho
As an Italian, I laughed too much for that XD
Just FYI with these kickstarters, nine times out of ten if you search up the stock footage/photos (such as for the jewellery phone when they're all sitting at a table, the one woman has a camera), you can find the media on stock media websites.
I need another instalment of this series please
How does this man not have more subs
With soup, I have a soup mug to sip it
8:00 I genuinely love the idea of wearable tech, although this is different, it's more like wearable "essentials in this technological world". And I honestly don't hate it, again, but I think they didn't realise how wireless charging is likely going to be the future of things.
I mean the soup plate has existed forever at least here in Spain. We call it 'plato hondo' look it up. Isn't it the same thing? We use it for pasta, soup, stews, salands... pretty much anything you don't need to cut with a knife. I thought it existed everywhere

The hot-plate mug, has been done before.

In a bowl situacion you can also use bread to get the rest of the soup.

Why would I need that thermal mug when my (apparantly magical) thermos keeps my coffee hot AF for roughly 8 hours? AND I don't need to charge it in the sun to do so? :P
ye but what ya gonna do at that 9 hour mark buddy?
@@Six_Gorillion Pass out from exhaustion because if it still exists at that point, my workday is going ROUGH. XD
Solar power is not even close to enough to warm up coffee or tea, not enough to maintain
Ibdonmt have bowls at home. Should I start a kickstart?
The giant handles on the cup is because the cup is hot. But isn't it telling that at no point, is the cup offered as an item for pledging? I have always wanted campaigns to not over-promise but there comes a point where underpromising is a thing. If someone has spent $1100 on giving you money and you can't even give them the thing you're making, that's a huge red flag.
Thats an NFT bruh lmao.
pls Wiz you gotta make more of these kickstarter vids😂
I think Retsupurae would have a great time going back to this shit honestly
Are the caps and t shirts solar powered?
Soup in a cup chads
I mean the jewelry makes a lot of sense... We all desperately need small bluetooth devices to answer our phones during activity, that otherwise look like an accessories. But I think a waterproof watch with a screen would be a better idea... Maybe give it some apps, make it like a smart phone thing, call it a "smart watch".
Ok but now, imagine this: you just look at your phone. That you probably take with you anywhere you go 24/7.

Those Yoga Bracelets actually look reasonable
The global war thing made me burst out in laughter. The entire civilization may be sent back to dark ages by huge solar flare, we can all be killed by a planet killer asteroid, Vladimir Putin can lose his shit completely and actually trigger mutually assured destruction - soooo - buy this USB charging cable, you wouldn't want to die without one, would you? :-D :-D :-D
I really want to see that cup shirt.
It almost feels like someone forgot a couple zeros on that solar mug kickstarter, since 30 pounds would be roughly 40 dollars.
very epic
im imagining this:

then one of them stops are calls someone with their thing whatever it is
Some people have so called soup plates, or a deep plate, with the base less wide than a plate but much wider than a bowl. What you do is tilt the plate.
Remember you will pay for a cup CONCEPT 😏 the toad bag makes sense
