I did everything that Doctor C recommended and I’m now 7 months pain free. I’ll always continue with the fiber, Sitz baths, pranicura and proper toilet etiquette (get your business done and don’t sit for more that a few minutes) because it works and I never want to feel that horrible pain again. Thank you doctor C😊

I had a comet yesterday and it felt like my tush was on FIRE 😢 from oatmeal i ate a few days ago. *Edit* oh DOC.. you have no idea how grateful i am that I found your channel. I pooped today, it was small and easy. no pain, no straining, just a little push and it came out. Mild discomfort but no BURNING, no pain and no hour long spasms. o.m.g. Ive been keeping meals small, minimizing fiber, and taking 1/2 cap full of miralax . also using a 2.5% hydrocortisone cream i got from Urgent care telehealth!. man its been 9 days since my initial flareup and im hopeful. so far no real pain but its only been 15 minutes.. wish me luck. i use to be a big bulk eater, my big meal was dinner and it was full of fiber...... no more foolishness for me.. I hope to never and i mean never go thru this stuff again

It may not be from oatmeal. Oatmeal is soluable fiber it usually helps soften stool. Try adding some berries and dried fruit to it start small go slow. Stool transit time is different for everyone. Mine is about 48 hours. Meaning what I ate 2 days ago comes out today but not always. If I eat refined carbs or less veggies it slows down. I try and get cumulatively 15-25 grams of mixed fiber a day both soluable and insoluable. Insoluable tends to make gas as it ferments in intestines soluable doesn’t. I also use Vaseline before first go of the day. It helps. It’s a balancing act.

A CT scan showed moderate stool burden, so my GI put me on Miralax, which did nothing until day 6 when I had an explosion. He then switched to the highest dosage of the RX Linzess, stomach pain and explosions like I've never experienced! When he lowered the dose, the same thing happened on day 4. I left several messages asking what to do, no response from him, so I took myself off. I'd been unable to leave the house. I'm eating a moderate amount of fiber but always have, so not sure how any of this happened. I was a little constipated today but can't go through the horrible pain from Linzess and Miralax. Any suggestions would be appreciated! (I've also been dealing with hemorrhoids for almost 2 months.) Love your channel!

When you have inflammation in the anus from hemorrhoids or fissures or s sentinel pile etc. the sensation your nerves feel creates the sensation of needing to evacuate. Also when your internal or external sphincter gets those nerve inervation they clamp down to prevent further passage of gas or stool making you feel like you need to go or slows down your colon from moving stuff down. That pressure makes tissue in sensitive to any pressure or inflammation as you heal that sensation will lessen then go away.

Another reason why diarrhea can result in hemorrhoids: If the diarrhea is chronic, as in colitis, Crohn's or IBD, the excessive frequency of bowel movements (plus the repeated cleaning up that it necessitates) are very irritating to the anal area. Over time, it can easily progress to hemorrhoids. I speak from experience.
