What are your guy's thoughts on this movie? Will it have similar public discourse as the previous one?
I'm thinking this will dive more into the dysfunctional "system" in which people with issues like him, are place in. Either the mistreatment and or neglect of treatment. I think Harley will either be a real person/fngrl that will become his accomplice or maybe he is projecting his feelings on her unbeknownst to her or she is a figment of his imagination.
Also the "musical" part will be much like the first movie where the musical montages will all be in his head.
this version of joker doesn't exist in the comics therefore harley may also not be how shes portrayed in the animated series either. looks like they will make her a patient.
I have no idea bruh, the first one made 1 billion
Some of us would like to know why The normies aren’t reacting to X men 97 we get you’ve got a slate of other shows and schedule wise it can be difficult to fit a new one in but it’s such a good show and would bring so many Disney and X Men viewers to your channel and you guys reacting to it would be good to do now before the show ends in 5 episodes but just a thought we’d love to see the NORMIES REACT TO X MEN 97 🥰🥰
Lady Gaga won a Golden Globe for her performance in American Horror Story and has two Academy Awards nominations to her name, she's totally an amazing actress
Four nominations, actually. Three in Best Original Song category (Til’ It Happens To You from The Hunting Ground, Shallow from A Star Is Born and Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick) and one in Leading Actress category, for her perfomance in A Star Is Born
Fun Fact: the first movie released Octrober 4, 2019 as well
I'm guessing in 2029 Joker 3 will released at the same date too and we will see teen Bruce
That will never happen though@@rumuelnathanael8043
My god Lady Gaga looks sooooo good. It’s INSANE 😅
I love that they're trying something different from the first movie. Who wants just a complete copy? Even if this musical idea doesn't work out for whatever reason, major props to them for taking risks. That's what we need more of.
Yup and in my opinion any movie that genuinely try’s something new and atleast try’s to do it VERY well is a good movie.
This looks like a great movie.
I just love that all of the edgelord fans from the first movie are going to have to justify to themselves why they're going to watch a musical XD
@@TheJerbol Musicals aren’t bad?
Especially in this case where it’s not some cutsie Disney bs.
This will be manic and psychotic just like the joker is.
@@KITN._.8 I never said they are, I think they're okay personally, Sweeney Todd was fun and some others. I was more commenting on how a decent section of the Joker fanbase are prepubescent idiots obsessed with how cool he is. And I loved the movie, but imagine telling a 14 year old bully that his favourite movie coming up is a musical
This movie is my most anticipated movie for 2024
Yes. This movie n Deadpool 3 at the top of my 2024 list
It’s up there but like… above Deadpool 3?
@@Cam_bitDeadpool & Wolverine is going to be a great film, but for me personally, I'll find more replay value out of Joker 2 than D&W. Like The Normies stated in regards to the first film; every watch, you'll find details you missed during the previous watch.
This film and Dune 2 are my most anticipated. This trailer got me extremely hyped.
@@Cam_bitYes ofcourse. Couldn't care less about cheap Superhero movies. Joker and Dune 2 all the way
Gaga is running for that Óscar
AGAIN!!! She is amazing
Has she already got an Oscar?
"I used to think my life was a tragedy... Now I realize, it's a musical..."
😈🤡🔪

@@dcmastermindfirst9418 US english vs british english* both are correct
@@navo159 Wrong.
English is English. Not American.
@@dcmastermindfirst9418Um, different dialects buddy. With that logic, Spanish is Spanish, not Mexican. Do you agree with that too then, saying south/central American Spanish is wrong?
@@luna-mo3ol There are no "different dialects" buddy. English is a singular language originating from England... hence the fuking name ENGLISH.
Go learn to use it correctly.

A folie duex is a term for mad love. It’s a type of shared psychosis/ hallucination
Who ever thought of that lipstick on the glass scene deserves a raise
um...you mean the director?
Folie a Deux means Madness for Two.
or more colloquially and less literally, “shared madness”
Basically means 2 people who share the same delusions and paranoias. Often happens when one mentally ill person meets another and starts believing their delusions.
People forget that before her singing career, Lady Gaga was doing all the things any NY kid would do to be an actor, including acting school.
And while it didn’t work out, and like you guys mentioned, her music videos and ability to perform as Lady Gaga has definitely helped with getting these roles, and not just because she is who she is. It’s clear that she has a comfortability in musical-type roles which is why I think this movie is going to be another standout for her, but again, so stoked to see what she can bring to such an iconic character in this particular Joker world!
Lmao Todd Phillips my dude show respect
Dude had Fallout on his mind. 😅
Can't wait for the show today.
FALLOUT on my mind hahahah
I can’t remember the last time a trailer gave me chills.. and still kept them coming my 5th watch
Navi is spot on, Gaga is flawless
"A Clown is Born" :) Last shot was a great mix of Practical & VFX. IIRC, I think some ppl felt the first movie was a little derivative of Scorsese (King of Comedy & Taxi Driver).
I liked Joker, but it absolutely is derivative of both of those movies. Thankfully it's very well acted and shot!
Lady Gaga was in house of Gucci film as well
folie a deux means roughly "shared madness"
They should've called it Shared Madness because not many people can say the title
@@ChamarM its exactly what it looks like "folly uh due"
“Fa-LEE uh-DOO” is how I pronounce it
@@ChamarM Nah, Folie a deux sounds better.
@@ChamarMmaking it the French way has the added benefit of having the word two in it. Deux means two and it’s the sequel so it technically has Joker 2 in the title. That’s the genius of it.
She was AMAZING in house of gucci
6:33 - You have to remember that they don’t have the rights to the personalities of Joker and Harley used in any previous series or comic, it isn’t a DC film. They had to purchase the rights to the names. They also are not allowed to mention any heroes, officers, or other villains. That is the reason they re-wrote EVERYTHING about him in the first film, which worked- kind of. I think when people stepped back, the character they created is not a super villain at all. He is a mental, physical and emotional abuse victim who slips into his own delusional state. Batman would never EVER do anything other than drop him off at a mental ward.
Thomas wayne??
this isn’t true
OSCAR FOR ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE INCOMING!!!
Second Oscar in the bag!
You guys have got to see
HOUSE OF GUCCI
Stars: Lady Gaga / Jared Leto/ Adam Driver/ Al Pacino.
Who all give STUNNING performances
for reeeaaal
Tod Howard? Margot robbie American? Yall a bit off today 😂
Wow, been months since I was here but hot damn, Suraj! That style looks good on you!
THANKS for this, Normies!!!!
“Todd Howard” 😭💀
I noticed that too, lol.
I love the scene of them dancing cuz it reminds me of so many comic book covers of joker and Harley dancing or the one with joker dancing with Batman's cowl I just hope they give more homages to the comics
Sooo there is a song from Fall Out Boys called "America's Suitehearts".
The music video was them being circus characters, and there's a guy who fell into a green goo which then turned him to a crazy clown type circus master. Then a girl watching him, who I guess kinda liked him, followed him to the circus and also fell into the goo.
They then became sort of partners, that were crazy together.
It's very similar to a Joker and Harley Quinn love story. Coincidence??
And get this, the song "America's Suitehearts" was from Fall Out Boy's album called FOLIE á DEUX...
I can't wait until October.
Can’t wait!! Loved the first one.
Smile on the glass … chef’s kiss 😘
Okay I'm cautiously optimistic about this one, and at least am glad to see someone try something different - I'm glad to be able to see you guys check it out. Navi with the cool colored highlights, and Rana with the henna looking sharp!
Todd Howard directed this? Wow. What a versatile man! 😂 Kidding.
Savage lol, calling Suraj out like that haha
Great reaction as always, guys. It's looking like the movie is going to be a love letter to the 1950/60s of Hollywood with all of the elaborately designed sets and focus on music. I'm hoping they can intertwine the musical aspects in a way that doesn't hinder the narrative; sometimes jukebox musicals can be quite jarring if not handled correctly. But the few snippets we got from this trailer alone seems to suggest that Phillips, the director, knows what he's doing. At the very least, it looks like it's going in a different direction and not a rehash of the last one, which can't be said for most Hollywood films these days.
Everything about this film looks visually stunning.
It's time to cut that mop and donate it to charity Suraj 😂 you remind me of that Seinfeld episode where they had no shower pressure
Folie à Deux is a shared madness
I can't wait for this
Can’t wait
Man, I can't wait for this movie I loved the first one.
The fact the whole thing is a musical worries me but Gaga as Harley makes me happy
This is the best thing I’ve ever seen from you guys lol
love the rick Dalton point for steve coogan
Folie a duex... shared madness
This looks so good! I feel like we’re gonna get a different relationship than we’re used to. This Harley doesn’t feel like a victim to me. In fact she might even be a bit manipulative.
When I first heard the title of this new film Folie à Deux, I grinned and said, "Oh, that's perfect for these characters." Because it reminds me of a line from the original X-Files series, when Dana Scully explains the expression this way: "Folie à Deux. A madness shared by two."
Side note: I also learned the words 'exsanguinate' and 'obfuscate' from The X-Files. See? TV is educational. They taught me so much, lol. 🤣🤣
It looks epic
To Navi's question about Euphoria: as someone who did see the show and who has worked with at risk teens, the way it glorifies drug use is--YES--by making it sexy, and by showing Rue go through her misadventures, which while we as adults know are horrifying, to teens who are bored with mundanity and rules and crave drama and attention, they are, for like of a better word, cool. And because Rue doesn't ever face actual consequences other straining her relationships with those around her (she escapes the human traffickers, she survives her overdose, she avoids prison), she's only left with fascinating stories to tell. Of course, we know she's mentally scarred, but for a teen audience that's pretty hard to convey. The show was meant for adults, but teens were inevitably gonna watch it
These Joker Trailers are all phenomenal, holy sh*t
This Film looks astonishing
Folie à deux is an actual real life phenomenon of shared psychosis/craziness.
Gaga is amazing!!!😍♥️♥️🔥
Gaga is perfect as Harley
You should absolutely react to the first one. Such a good movie
Another Oscar for Joaquin?🤡
"Madness shared by two"
Lady Gaga was also amazing in Ridley Scott film "House of Gucci". She truly earned her accolades as an established Oscar and Emmy Award winner❤👏🏾💐! Todd Phillips said that this movie is not going to be an actual musical. It's a soundtrack jukebox type of feel with modern music playing in the background.
Simplesmente obcecado pelo trailer ❤️
The last scene 😳
Let's go for an another oscar 🔥
What was Navi's fleece (maybe) jacket? It looks nice.
Last time we got to see all the fantasies play out in Arthur’s head, this time we will see what’s in her head.
She seems like a fangirl who idolized what he did in the first movie and somehow got herself into Arkham asylum, will def break him out of there.
That lipstick scene is chefs kiss 😘
I really like it!
I actually have no problems with musicals. I saw Grease (1978) for the first time late last year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I grew up watching Mary Poppins (1964). I saw West Side Story in school. The OG and not the one with Rachel Zegler before she became the most hated actress in Hollywood over Brie Larson. I’ve never seen The Sound of Music but I’ve seen The Wizard of Oz and all the Willy Wonka movies which are all musicals.
My favorite movie from 2022 was NOT Top Gun: Maverick which I still love and own a hat for but it’s Elvis. And that movie was basically music videos/concerts stitched together making it essentially a musical from Elvis’ discography. I was NOT a fan of Elvis or his music until I saw that 2022 movie. I tend to listen to my movies while the screen is off. So musicals have great replay value for that. It’s almost like you’re listening to the radio.
No whining from me if Joker 2 is a musical. Many of those Disney animated movies my generation grew up on from The Little Mermaid (1989), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), The Lion King (1994), Pocahontas (1995), Hercules (1997), and Mulan (1998) are musicals. I honestly think it’s a genre that should get revived. A musical may not fit with DC characters but let’s just wait and see. Let’s not prejudge it.
Makes me want to watch The Sound of Music (1965). I’ve actually never seen that one. It’s one of Seth McFarlane’s all-time favorite movies. God bless, Julie Andrews. Still alive at 88… ~So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye~ ~I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye~ ~Goodbye~
I love it👏👏👏
DC has been doing the multiverse for a long time
Nobody:
Clayface: "Lady G'gaah!"
Imagine if Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn & Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker were in Robert Pattinson’s Batmanverse, that would be totally, wicked epic!
No it wouldnt. This Joker is a threat to no one but himself
It is.
Both are Elseworlds films.
But I feel like the age gap difference when Bruce becomes Batman will be weird cause remember that in the first Joker film , Bruce was like 8yrs old
According to the director the idea of Joker was to sneak a classy Oscar Worthy film through the label of a "comic book movie" or "superhero movie" that's why Joker was made
Todd Phillips* - not Tom Howard lol
i really appreciate them asking the big question: what does love/romance look like in the heads of two seriously demented people?
because, lets face it.. a lot of that shit shown in the trailer is delusions come to life. every now and again theres a shot of the real world creeping in.
in the case of joker & harley.. it's interesting to see that angle, because i dont think they've ever actually explored what the inner workings of their relationship look like to them.
This movie is going to be awesome 😊
why does he look like he is going to forgive all my sins?
Folie à Deux ❤
Great video! Are you going to watch Dune 2 soon?
gaga is gonna KILL it!!! Im so pumped to see her in this role!!!
Folie does not mean foley, it means madness
Interesting. Joker & Harley romance movie. 🃏 October 4 or same day when Joker 2019 was released. We got the Penguin series coming this Fall too. This Joker looks interesting. Don’t really know what to expect. It seems part romance and part musical.
I’m there. This is a Day 1 for me. I never miss a live action movie related to Batman or Gotham going back to 1989. And yes, I did enjoy Joker 2019 which I watched 3-4x in the theater and was happy when Joaquin won an Oscar for it. I always knew he had the talent since seeing him in 8MM and Gladiator. Joker is Todd’s love letter to Scorsese’s Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy while getting De Niro for it!
Warner Bros. looks loaded this year. They still got Furiosa in May and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in September. Planning to see Godzilla x Kong a third time this week. What I really can’t wait for is The Batman Part II. Robert Pattinson hates Twilight but his favorite video game of all-time is the same as mines: Final Fantasy VII (1997). But I’m more a fan of Tifa and I especially love her more in Remake while he loves Aerith.
Cool trailer. Hope we see another trailer in 2-3 months to explain the story a little better. This teaser is a bit confusing on it’s premise. It’s like a romance story mixed with One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest but set in Arkham Asylum but turned musical? That’s the vibes I’m getting from it. But I think they’ll nail their performances because Joaquin and Gaga can really act. Gaga was excellent in House of Gucci even if the movie wasn’t good.
June looks loaded. House of the Dragon S2 vs. The Boys S4 vs. The Acolyte. I’m watching all of them!! But I think WB wins again with House of the Dragon in the Year of the Dragon 🐉. I love The Boys but GRRM’s lore is far more interesting. I will watch The Acolyte based off curiosity but I’m not sure I’m interested in watching space lesbians. Frickin’ Disney. The Acolyte might bore people like they did with Echo.
The movie that could surprise me the most this year will be released this Thursday. I’m hearing great reviews for Civil War. I think the premise to it is interesting. I’m older than Kirsten Dunst by almost a year and a half but she already looked 10 years older than me from 10 years ago! Her real life husband portraying the Trump supporter / soldier is making me become a bigger fan for Jesse Plemons.
Whether some people might be unsure with this being musical, one thing is for sure: Joaquin and Gaga are going to crush their roles. Oscar-nominated performances. Joaquin Phoenix is one of the best actors of the last 25 years. His older brother, River, would be proud. That lipstick scene is an insta-meme classic. That’s going to be used as a meme or gif for generations. It’s an instant classic scene from this movie. Flawless execution.
So far, Warner Bros. still has the best movie of 2024 in Dune: Part Two. They’re killing it. Dune 2 and Joker 2 could both be nominated for Best Picture. Then we got a Superman movie and a Batman movie next year. F Disney. 😂 Well, except for Deadpool & Wolverine this July.
Day one we there
I see you😉
this has Oscar buzz written all over it.
Im also looking forward to it after loving the first film but not a musical fan but i still think if the story is great it wont matter. Also as someone with Experience with Mental Health i didnt think the first film glorified mental health, its more about the negative effects that mental health has on people, the people around them and how society looks down on people that suffer with these conditions...
I forgot you read the date MM/DD/YY
So when I read it. I said wait that’s today. 😅
bruh why am I tearing up everytime I watch the trailer lol this shit is gonna be beautiful
Im very excited for the movie, i trust in Todd Phillips eye
Margo Robbie American sweetheart ? Girls from Australia 🤣
Lmaooooo
They are morons. They always spew the wrong information with confidence.
Who works in America
Awesome reaction of my favorite trailer of my favorite DC movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
The Dark Knight. Not a single DC movie comes close. Acting & Writing is key❗️
@@joseabreu-nn5cu That movie is the definition of overrated.
Joker and Harley's relationship is like a reality check for delulu girls.
"I can fix him"
no girl, he's gonna fuck you up.
And yet they remain together, people still ship them, and stories about them keep getting produced. So it really doesn't teach anything
Joker and Harley are two mentally ill people in love. I had a friend who met her boyfriend in a psych ward didn't end well but they were both crazy in love lol
I feel as though this trailer doesn’t give the feel of just how much of a musical this movie is actually going to be
Give credit to Sammy Davis Jr. That music line was awesome.
Did you get a haircut or use product in your hair Suraj? It looks good. More tamed and less poofy than the previous videos. If so tell, me what you did. I'm on the same grow hair out journey as you and am Punjabi like you, lol
If I'm going to be honest, my theory is that he isn't really doing that much with Harley. He saw her in Arkham as a doctor (where she likely treated him with kindness, giving him a false sense of love-- real thing that happens with a lot of people, actually), had illusions about her where they fell in love, and then felt an obligation to sort of "make her his". Might not work all that well but I think it's a decent theory. Love yall videos, by the way!
Tbh got lost while yall were talking when I noticed yall just have action music playing in the background lol why lmao
React to the high school musical movies now that Navi mentioned them.😁
Todd Howard added 16x the detail to the movie 😂
Jesus, you've got Jesus on the team!
I don’t think it was the violence that got to people about this movie more so the fact that it makes us almost sympathize with a murder, regardless of how they’re being treated, and it was around the same time a school shooting happened, But in my opinion, those things happen around the way you grow up, but the movie puts a creative, thinking habit on you and for us to be more polite as a society rather than agreeing with somebody that killed somebody
I am going to guess that Harley is going to be completely different from what we have seen but closer to the comics minus her being a Psychiatrist. However I think they still could tie that in in a few ways.
They could make her a volunteer at Arkham Asylum who dresses that way to make the patients feel more comfortable. They could also still make her his Psychiatrist prior to the riots because we see her character throwing a trash can through a window and there is fire and a bit of mayhem in the reflection so perhaps she gets locked up in Arkham Asylum as well. Or perhaps Harley will play the role of a pseudo therapist giving him guidance while in Arkham in the worst way possible.
However Harley seems to be on the outside multiple times in this trailer. So maybe she gets out of Arkham but he is still stuck in there. And she becomes a therapist just to be able to see him?
Oh also I see people saying they may still do the abusive angle but flipped to where Harley is manipulating the Joker for some reason and gets controlling and abusive towards him. Because we see her lean in and push the gun in his face like back up think again Arthur don’t think I won’t blow your brains out too.
I hope I’m wrong because I really don’t want to see either form of the abuse storyline. Guess we will have to wait and see how things pan out for her character. ONE THING I KNOW IS THAT THIS ROLE IS ABSOLUTE PERFECTION FOR GAGA!! She is going to make this role her b*tch!
This movie is gonna be so GOOD!!! Gaga will definitely NAIL it as per usual. Give them the Oscars already!!
Lady HaHa is taking it
The subtitle means "madness of two"; it's a French phrase in psychology that refers to a shared delusion. As in, one delusional person convinces someone else to believe in their delusion with them.
"Margot Robbie is very American sweetheart." But... but she's Aussie 😂
The whole "glorifies violence/drug use/etc." rhetoric is ridiculous. People conflate discussion of a topic with glorification: if you talk about how fucked up society is, you're glorifying the fucked-up-ness, and we should all just never admit these problems exist. It's a nonsensical way for people to avoid facing issues that make them uncomfortable, so they don't have to feel any responsibility to fight for change.
I'm so hyped for this. I loved the first movie, and this looks like it'll be great. Also, can we all admit that Lady Gaga looks *stunning* in that red suit walking through the crowd? Okay, thanks.
