Forget a turbo, I really just hope the 2020 model has a 2.0L engine.

HR-V vs CR-V........I had a Honda Fit before I bought my 2018 CR-V. I didn't realize how much I missed the back seats folding up until I got my CR-V. From my understanding, the HR-V is built on the Fit frame.I think the back seats folding in upright position gives this car bonus points. It gives you much more choices to carry things. I have no idea why the CR-V as well as the other models do not have folding upright storage seat. Its a no brainer. Another thing the HR-V does not have is the 1.5L Turbo issues of the gas getting into the oi because of being Direct Injection. HR-V is cheaper, gets a little better gas mileage, does not have the engine problems, only a little smaller in size, and my favorite fold up seats. A thing about the size..........if you as the driver, only carry yourself and one passenger, it does not matter if you have a HR-V or CR-V. The difference comes in room for the back seat. In my CR-V, I ride by myself most of the time. Car is a year old and I have only had one person in the back one time. Something else to think about.

Nice review. I love this vehicle and I am planning on buying one, the EX model. I don't understand why everyone keeps asking for a turbo engine. First off, turbos suck. Just add more horsepower to the existing engine. Second, this is a commuter car that's suppose to get good mileage so adding more performance doesn't make sense. Aside from that, it's a pretty sweet ride. I also would miss the cd player. Yeah, cd's have been on the out for awhile, but many of us still have them and listen to them.

I have a 2019. You forgot the automatic headlights and wiper speeds. This vehicle is wonderful in the touring model. Love the look of the headlights. Apple car play fantastic. Everything is so smooth. I am not a fast driver being retired and with plenty of time. Yet, I was in a car club as a teenager and like performance. I drive on Econo all the time and there is plenty of power for me. The additional speakers in the touring is important to me for sound quality. You also missed the improved quiet ride for 2019.

We owned a 2016 HRV EX AWD and it wasn't a 'bad' vehicle. In fact, it was quite reliable. After owning it for 6 years, we just grew tired of the lethargic engine, spartan interior and loud road noise on the interstate.

Same little 1.8 they've been using for decades now. Maybe not that much power, but way more reliable and easier to work on than any of their new turbo engines.

We have a truck and a Hyundai with twin turbos. I also have an older Lexus RX330 that has POWER, and a naturally-aspirated engine. I really like the naturally-aspirated engines over turbos. Turbos are fun, but a lot can go wrong with them, too...which is pricey. As long as it has some zip (no need to challenge someone when the light turns green or anything), and GREAT mpgs (turbos might sacrifice that), I'm a happy girl.

HR-V Sport in Europe has 1.5 Turbo engine, same as Civic Sport. No sun roof though, no panoramic roof. If the FIT / JAZZ Sport had turbo Honda would be on a winner. Honda often seem tocall a car Sport just because of trim, but my understanding is that a Sport should be over 180 bhp.

Had the 2021 and returned it due to the uncomfortable seats. There’s like a box underneath the seat which doesn’t allow me to bend my legs back a bit. If it wasn’t for that, I would of kept it still. That’s where they F’d up. I’m 6ft btw.

ACC LKAS feature on 2019 Honda HR V is VERY UNSAFE in freeway traffic, and this is where I like to use my cruise control. I understand if I turn off cruise control AC LKAS won't engage. My purpose is defeated. Unfortunately I will have this feature disengaged. Honda should put the money used in this feature and update another feature inside the car, i.e. electric passenger seat, or CD player unit.

Looks like you get a better info- tainment unit in US. Here in Australia our current hrv's have a very clunky unit and because it is tilted slightly upwards, it has terrible glare from the sun. Other than that my Hrv RS (Sport in US) is adequate and very versatile. I believe the 1.5L turbo engines have oil issues like being diluted by gasoline.

You had me up until you mentioned the same underpowered 1.8L motor from the previous generation. The new 1.5L turbo in the 10th gen Civic would make this AWD Touring trim a no-brainer choice. I would consider replacing my 2016 Civic Touring sedan if that option was available.

My suggestion was simply adding the Civics 1.5L turbo motor to only the top trim Touring HR-V. Had I known your financial situation was teetering on the precipice of ruin and being forced to choose between a top trim HR-V and the lowest trim CR-V would shove you into the abyss of abject poverty, I never would've made such a reasonable conjecture. Amazingly the reviewer himself seconded my suggestion, so....🤨🤨🤨
