The sx tour 2022 is also the only 98 inch racket I'm aware of with a 23/26/23mm beam. It's a racket I've been interested in for a while but haven't been able to get my hands on one for testing.
Sorry to hear it's hard. Hopefully I'll make a review that can aid in you seeing if it's worth the hassle of getting one to your area. Worst case just buy one used or take a small hit on a new one IF you end up selling it. You might love it!
@@ZeroLoveTennis after my last Dunlop, which was actually the 2022 SX 300 100 inch version, customised as I do most frames, despite actually liking the frame I decided it wasn't feasible to continue testing Dunlop's. Very hard resell thanks to brand bias. I like the brand direction, and it's possible I'd take Babolat and Dunlop as my two favs right now. But Babolats are an easy resell. As are some other big brands. If I need to do that. Still, I've had my eye on this one. But it's hardly ever in stock seemingly when I've wanted it to be and I haven't seen any pop up second hand either. I like the design choices though. You'd think it would fit between the Pure Aero 98 and the Pure Drive, my two favourite rackets performance wise. I guess what's particularly interesting here for me is its design choice with the beam thickness paired with the 98 head size. Like if I had access to creating my own version of a Babolat frame, I'd test something like that with the Aero 98, and I'd test a 16/20 pattern on the Pure Drive. I'm saying that I still have this feeling that there's some middle ground between those two potentially that I'd like better, but unfortunately doesn't seem to exist. But this Dunlop kind of moves in that direction. Will be interesting to hear your take on it.
I know exactly what you mean. But as one person selling one racquet, I don't mind the resell struggle much. It would definitely be felt if I had a whole shop, though. Thankfully I'm still just demoing haha. Lucky to have my shop! They carry most of the brands.
@@ZeroLoveTennis one specific shop that does carry them or can order it directly if I wanted it would actually offer a great deal in all likelihood if I wanted to trade it back in. But there's a catch. The business kind of wants you to keep dealing with them. So it's less tempting if I'm not going to trade it back in to get something in return from them. But when I have done that they've been great. I've done some clean trades with them for example. Basically straight swaps. But selling a Dunlop locally or online? I've found that to be less than ideal. The brand needs, deserves rather, some more love for their rackets.
They need to buy a super big name player. Must be tough for racket brands because only a few players have most eyes on them. The rest are kind of ignored. It just so happens nobody in the big 3 or even 4 was using dunlop or yonex and I think that really shows if you look at how the brands succeed. Recently, Yonex is doing better. Dunlop did way better back when they had huge names at the top. But to a very large degree, I think the top top players carry the brand a lot.
I just tried five Dunlop racquets when shopping for a new stick, almost all of them were amazing. Great feel that just lets you play your game, just have to find the stick made for your game. SX 300 Tour practically swings itself if you've got the swing type it's made for. And they're $60 cheaper!
I like these videos a lot ❤ nobody does it. 👍🏼 Do low crosses do a lot? I mean, what’s the difference between denser string pattern near the throat? We don’t contact the ball down there.
Can you explain by denser? You mean more densely spaced around the throat or that the crosses are closer to the throat? Either way, it's hard to say. But I think a bed that spreads out more can pocket a ball better. I'm a fan of more strings but being spread out towards the edges. Some rackets just bring everything in towards the middle. I don't love the idea of that. I think it concentrates the strings too close together and functions a bit more like a paddle than a stringbed when you do that. But some might like that, especially flatter hitters.
Fair enough. Did it still seem more comfortable, even if not comfortable enough? I actually use the Black Ace 105 from ProKennex right now and absolutely love it.
It's always ReString Zero or Toroline Wasabi. My video comes out next on these strings but you can use my code to get a discount on them as well. It's in most of my video descriptions so check it out! It's the best of strings ever made, I honestly feel.
I have the 2020 version.. And I've always kept in my tennis bag.. Mostly playing with the speed, extreme tour, etc.. But more I play with the dunlop more I feel connected, nice ball arc lower then the aero.. Slightly softer and better feeling then aero, maybe in the training you get more from aero if you feel relaxed etc.. But in the match when you play at your 60/75% the dunlop come up and apart from the serve that is a bit weak on the flat one.. Absolutely an amazing racket and amazing maneuverability, especially from inside the court.. Obviously as a spin/power racket we need to balance with a nice control string and a bit higher tension, otherwise the ball will end up long many time..
Not really, but also because of the string and tension that I've chosen, also because I play on the hard court I don't generally like the higher arc, I prefer lower and with more angle.. But I still didn't try the latest dunlop sx 300, so I heard that they improved the spin and power so maybe it will have an higher arc... P. S.. MSV Co Focus or similar to avoid the arc on the dunlop, no any hyper g or blast etc..
I thought Dunlop was still British not Japanese huh! Interesting, my shop couldn't sell them so wanted to cut me a deal. That says their marketing is disastrous just like I thought very interesting 😎
For spin? The Dunlop. Control, PA98. Verdict isn't out on "feel" yet but surprised to think the Dunlop might actually be more comfortable. Strung it at 56 today since 52 proved to feel a little low, still. And yet, still pretty comfortable.
@@ZeroLoveTennis Agreed. My last racquet was the PAVS. The 300 Tour has so much more spin and better net clearance. I agree it flexes when you hit hard, which is something I'm still getting used to.
I still like how it plays but I'm happy with my BA105. Getting similar spin somewhere in between the PA98/VS and SX 300's but with much more feel than either.
@@ZeroLoveTennis I have a mental block against playing with anything over 100 lol I wonder what the first big racquet to break the stigma will be. Eventually it will happen.
I have the same block but can look past it if the shape is right and I embrace the free stability of the headsize. It's not all bad and the right frame layup and mean good feel and control, still. The blackace 105 might be the only one like that, though. Maybe the Blade 104 as well. Most headsizes that far up are a wildly different design. Hard to say why the stigma. Agassi used a bigger one but that was a while ago and maybe he was an oddball.
In some situations it did feel like I got better pop or even drive but the harder and hard I hit, something great about the racquet was just lost. Very odd.
Fantastic racquet. Very underrated and often times more affordable than the other major companies.
Couldn't agree more! I'm not sure I love it fully but I'm giving it a very fair chance and appreciate it for what it offers.
Yup, now I'm thinking Yonex has skin in the Dunlop game...

I tried it but still hurt my tennis elbow. I had to go with either the Pro Kennex Kinetic Q series or even the Head Extreme MP

@ZeroLoveTennis yes it was comfortable enough, especially on the slices. I was using the Q20 110. I tried the 105 Q15 but a tad heavy for me.
We need a review 😊
Almost sure to do one!
what are your strings ?

Dunlop is great. Way more comfortable than any babolat. This one is all spin though. Hard to control
Spin a little better. Maybe not worth this weird wobbly sensation I get on contact. My newer short highlights this!
ew dunlop. Is it cool these days to hate on the gold standard like babolt?

Haha yeah they have like no big exposure and I think their aesthetic is a little bit dated maybe. Too bad, they have potential!

played sx300tour for half year, its a very comfortable racket for playing topspin
Isn't it oddly comfortable? I was surprised.

What u got now ?
