When Spock died at the end of Wrath of Kahn a few people were emotional in the theater. But when the Enterprise blew up I could hear people sobbing all over the theater. I was too shocked to cry. It was the most traumatic experience I'd ever had in a movie theater . . . Until my brother and his buddy dragged me with them to Total Recall (throwing up on the theater floor because of a disgusting Siamese twin puppet- eew).
And then they start off Star Trek IV by replaying the Enterprise blowing up . . .
liljenborg you think Total Recall was intense? You should watch Felidae and Turok: Son of Stone.
I think people don't always realize that the ships are characters as well. In fact the enterprise is meant to be symbolic of earth itself, with the crew representing a future of humanity in which all nations and cultures are united for the cause of progress. Thus the destruction of a starship can be more depressing than any character, especially when considering the star ship in question is the most inspiring ship (maybe even symbol) in all of cinema. Maybe its because I am a Trekkie beyond anything else but I can't think of a more inspiring image than the Enterprise, save for Earth herself that is.
And Scotty started a fight with klingon because they called the Enterprise garbage. Later he said " Aye sir, it was of pride."
MonsterHunter 66 FELIDAE?!?!! FELIDAE IS SUBJECT FORBIDDEN!!!
Well it was show its not afreid to take risks.
R.I.P Ballsack....He will be missed...
King Duck ballzack
King Duck i hope he gets a spin off prequel

He looked like a mix between an Opossum and a D&D Dire Wolf - Dire Opossum!
King Duck Sorry I accidentally stole your joke
"Jim. Your name is Jim"
I cry every time. RIP Leonard Nimoy.
He was not only a good telepathic alien but also a hero in a helf shell (Donatello from the original tmnt movie)
The movie turns 35 today!
Still one of my favorites
Nimoy will forever be the heart of the franchise
When I saw the black dude at 7:51, I immediately asked "Is that Lando Calrissian?!"
Oh god I'm not the only one!
Isaiah Garraway same
Damn, same here!
When did Lando trade frnachises?
@@b3rz3rk3r9 after episode 6 but before 7 lol in those unexplained years where the empire suddenly becomes first order and suddenly gains all the power it had before it was crippled
"The Thoughts need a hobby" is one of my favorite lines in this review for whatever reason. I think its the delivery.
"OH, MY BALLSACK!" - Doug Walker a.k.a Nostalgia Critic, 2012
Yeah I feel like someone really DID kill his actual ballsack when that bit started lol :P
*2017*
@@thesmellofadventure5370 No, it was 2012, this video first recorded and uploaded in 2012, it only was reuploaded in 2017.
Star trek 3: finding nemoy
This clever ass post to deserve this way more up votes
Star Trek III; the search for why Doug thinks that Kirstie Alley as a Vulcan is apparently the weirdest part of a movie with a two hundred year old and ninety year old war criminal who ruled over a quarter of the Earth in the nineties as the main antagonist.
You know... Ballsack actually is a pretty good-sounding alien name. You just gotta change the spelling to make it less obvious... Like Bolsac or something. Still gonna cause some chuckles, but I don't know, it's catchy to me.
Balzac
Turn up the fun with...
@@JohnboyJoestar
Balzac the writer?? I don't think so! That joke makes no sense. Ballsack does...for obvious reasons.
Every single time he said "Kristie Alley" I had to scream at my computer "Kirstie! KIRSTIE, NOT KRISTIE!"
But he never heard me.
Agreed
Terminator Geeenisssyyyssss?!
"my logic is uncertain where my son is concerned" Star Trek always found creative ways for Sarek to express his love for his son.
I just realized that shifty alien smuggler Mccoy seeks out might be an early draft of Ferengies.
Always wondered how they Don't catch flak over them....kind of none to subtle Jewish stereotype, right down to 99% of the notable ones being portrayed by actors of Jewish descent
‘Stealing The Enterprise’ was a fun scene and the best piece of the score.
Your Stitch voice acting was impressive though.
I thought that was his Gollum/Sméagol impersonation.
Loved the Suburban Commando line "I WAS FROZEN TODAY!"
My favorite odd numbered movie. Christopher Lloyd was great.
Also i'll never forget those giant rubber parasites in Spock's grave... *shudders* Nightmare fuel. Worse than those weird rubber body snatcher, alien-things from TOS.
I WAS FROZEN TODAY
Yours Truly, Chris the best Lloyd line
Kruge as he enters the Gates of StovoKor: "I was definitely not frozen today!"
How about sega Genesis
Genesis?!
15:57 I love how intense that scene is and I love the gag as well
Yeah He puts it two and two together
GENESIS!!??
Who's footprints are these?

Friggen hilarious!!!
And 5 years later, someone finally notices it. The GREATEST Christopher Llyod Line. "I was FROZEN today!" at 17:48 Gotta love the Suburban Commando throwback. Well played and well hidden Critic!
This movie has my all time favorite line from the entire Star Trek franchise "The needs of the one, outweighed the needs of the many"
Nimoy never wanted out of the franchise. This is a myth. They even wrote in a method for him to comd back at the end of Wrath of Khan by having Spock transfer his katra to McCoy.
I thought I heard in the documentary about Nimoy that he actually did want out because he was starting to get fed up with being Spock all the time and then when Wrath of Khan was wrapped he immediately regretted it and decided to direct the next movie, being this one. I swear that's what was said. I just can't remember the name of the documentary...
@@saviitrius Well, he did write a book called I Am Not Spock. Probably got a bit fed up with it. Certainly looked pissed in STVI for some reason, then that could have been Kim Cattrall taking nude pictures of herself on the bridge.
@@Emulous79 Kim Cattrall was in the 6th movie, which is well after Spock wanted back in. What do her nudes have to do with it? (Jesus fuck did she really? 😂)
@@Emulous79 he was fed up after 1969 because he couldn't find a lot of consistent or serious work after Star Trek, by the time the movies rolled around I believe he'd mellowed out a bit and started to own it.
I recall in an interview he said that around the time Star Wars had just came out he was a little annoyed constantly being connected to Spock (he specifically brought up that he was annoyed whenever he was brought up in articles they always said “Leonard Nemoy (Mr Spock from Star Trek)” but he also was jovial and chill enough to watch Star Wars for the first time and jokingly think to himself “well I’m gonna get a call from Paramount soon” instead of “oh crap Paramount are gonna want to capitalise on this aren’t they?”
Sulu: It’s getting bigger and bigger as we get closer.
George Takei: OH MY!
I know it's boring NC, but yes, the hand touching is a part of Vulcan ritual. Vulcan finger-touching was a ritualistic form of affection among Vulcans involving the index and middle fingers. It was used throughout their culture, including in public, at wedding ceremonies, and during the pon farr. Contact ranged from a simple two-fingertip touch to tracing around another's hand.
If a Vulcan mated with a member of another species, the non-Vulcan would adopt the practice. The Romulans also had knowledge of the ritual. (TOS: "Journey to Babel", TOS: "The Enterprise Incident", Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, ENT: "Home")
Regarding the origins of the Vulcan gesture involving touching of two fingers with two fingers, Leonard Nimoy explained in his book I Am Spock that the gesture was not meant to be the Vulcan equivalent of a human kiss, but rather the Vulcan equivalent of holding hands in public:
The Man From Krypton This is awesome..... You know this much about a fictional culture... But I'll bet money you couldn't say a damn thing about say... Indian culture. Unless of course you copied it and pasted it from a website like you did the above chunk of "knowledge".
@@Trainwheel_Time Why are you so salty may I ask? {>_>}
James Sikking, who played Doogie Holder's dad on tv, was Captain Styles, captain of the U.S.S. Excelsior in this.
I take it you've never read Leonard Nimoy's "I Am Spock". He didn't want out, but his first book "I Am Not Spock" made everyone think he'd come to hate the role. And you never mentioned he directed this movie, as well as the next one.
I was gonna correct you but then I remembered there was a fourth movie. 😂
he did mention it in his st6 review

The Dishonored Coward It's a small galaxy, huh?
OH MY BALLSACK
Ballsack will . . . oh. We'll get you a new Ballsack.
Every time I think I have seen every old Nostalgia Critic video, a new one pops up.
Kramer prefers this movie while Jerry feels the Wrath of Kahn is the better picture.
Johnny Polo Lol
Wrath of Khan is garbage
They're both good, but Wrath of Kahn is better.
it's Khan! KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!
What else can i say about the movie... Except: "I WAS MOL-TEN TODAY!!!"
The guy saying Genesis made me crack up Everytime never got old.
8:35 how come nobody ever acknowledges how truly awesome of a line "where is the logic in offering me a ride home you idiot" is. It's the perfect combination of Spock and Bones' personalitie and it makes me laugh every time.
Vulcans are touch telepaths - they can read your minds when they touch you and not just with mind melds. So touching is a very intimate thing for them. You're basically seeing her giving Spock a hand job.
Wait a minute, was that Klingon Commander played by doc brown?
Great Scott!
He was frozen...today.
That's why Doug played a sped-up "1.21 Gigawatts" when the Klingon gets kicked in the bollocks.
Christopher Lloyd
No. Judge Doom.
Star Trek III: Death Means Nothing
Just like most fiction
Pretending Star Trek 3 is a bad film to maintain the, "Only the Even numbered Trek Movies are good," myth is ridiculous. 3 is a good movie that merely gets a bad rep for having to follow Wrath of Khan. It's better than 6 and way, WAY better than the mess that is 10.
I actually liked six a little bit better than this one personally, but you do make a valid point with the rest of your post and I couldn't agree more
I think one of the issues is that it doesn't feel like a movie, if Insurrection is like a bad episode of a tv series, then Search for Spock is a really good episode of a to series.
@ANT 123 Journey, not the destination. Search For Spock is an enjoyable watch, even if it's not exactly necessary.
That same argument could be made for Empire Strikes Back. You could just ask someone what happened to Han and skip right to Return Of The Jedi. But by doing so, you are missing out on arguably the best film in the franchise.
4 bored me though it has funny moments
Yo 6 is great
Wow never been this early...I'm not telling a joke
I respect that
Pawn Far sounds like the perfect name for a Star Trek-themed pawn shop.
Pon Far the Vulcan mating ritual.
It would have to be a pawn shop for sex toys
The "Genesis" guy is like the intergalactic version of Robert Blake in Lost Highway.
KHAAAAAAAAAAN!!!
ΝΙΚΟΣ ΝΙΚΟΣ WHAT?
i am sorry did you say KHAAAAAAN?
Was he played by Ivan Ooze?
OH WHAT! WHAT'D YOU FUCKING WANT.

GENESHISH??!!
The Moe Szyslak Experience feat. Homer “Akiba!” - Stitch 😄

Ikkiba!
Geneshish allowed ish not! Ish planet forbidden!
Enterprise + Timer = *BOOM!!!*
That part crack me up especially because the BOOM! part came from one of my favorite Tweety cartoons
🎵The truth is in your face when you hear the canons go BOOM!!!🎶
This is still one of the most meme-able episodes of the Nostalgia Critic in my opinion.
I had to do a double take at 7:51. Thought I saw Lando Calrissian making a cross universe cameo.
DWrathborne Me too!!
DWrathbo
You know, when the Enterprise blows up, a Klingon jumps at the camera and a human hand reaches out to grab him and protect the camera. It is brilliant.
The soundtrack in this movie is phenomenal.
I just had to play 15:58 a dozen times... it's so damn spontaneous and funny :D
It's main problem is it becomes between two of the favorite films in the series. Put it right before or after The Final Frontier and it would get more love
I don't care how often I watch this I still laugh with each "GENESIS??!"
2:11 The Klingon Bird of Prey is my favorite ship in the "Star Trek" film franchise! In fact, I know a lot about this familar Klingon ship!
The movie's main flaw is in the setup of the action. They never explain WHY they need to get Spock's body. Sarek seems mostly interested in the katra, which is in McCoy. David and Savvik seem genuinely surprised Spock's coffin torpedo is intact. Why couldn't Sarek make a request for his son's body be returned and Kirk take McCoy to Vulcan by conventional means? Vulcan mental powers aren't a secret and they'd be in the best position to help McCoy and reduce his status as a security risk. Sarek is an extremely important figure on Vulcan and in the Federation. He'd be able to get these things done.
No one knew about the Klingons or the destruction of the Grissom until the Enterprise arrived.
The title doesn't even make sense. They know where he is how why search for him?
17.30 You really went with the "One point twenty-one Jiggawatts!" line there...? That was a gift-wrapped opportunity for the "talked... like... THIIIIIISSSSS!!!!" soundbyte from Roger Rabbit...
Also: "Noooo! Not Ballsack!"
I would love to see Doug and Rob do a vlog of the Top 10 or 20 or however many of the best movies that the Nostalgia Critic has reviewed. Star Trek III is certainly my favorite.
Can we all agree that 2 is AMAZING? Kahn is a perfect antagonist and Spock’s sacrifice feels so heartbreaking
That “ship plus countdown equals BOOM” gag made me laugh WAY harder than I think it should have!
Now all we need is Christopher Lloyd as a Bond villain.
Judge Doom comes pretty damn close
IMO, II was the best but III is the most underrated. It had major plot points used as canon, especially the blowing up of the Enterprise. Lloyd was a lot of fun and so was seeing McCoy of two minds. And the plot of Spock's spirit separated from his body put the "Spock's Brain" episode of TOS to total shame!
17:34 had me in stitches
1.21 GIGAWATTS!
I think that most people are just trying to find reasons to hate on this movie because it's odd numbered. This is up there with most of the even numbered movies.
I'm a simple person, I see Star Trek, I click
Hello I'm classic Nostalgia Critic, I remember it so you don't have to.
I read the book, Savvik and Spock did bump uglys but I don't know why they didn't make that clearer in the movie. Kruge also was surprised and impressed that Kirk blew up his ship, but he didn't ever actually figure out the ship was empty. You'd think that would've been obvious from the on-site warrior saying "There doesn't seem to be anyone here..."
15:36 WOAH, didn't know critic had a deadly toxic poison attack when he's angry. you learn something new everyday
Oh my god critic, I *KAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHNT* believe you made a review on this.
*Slap* I deserved that.
Love the Batman '66 narrator opening!
8:34 COMPLETELY GLAZES OVER O.J. Simpson as the Federation security officer, but mentions John Marquette instead.
The Under-rated Star Trek Movie I've ever seen and it deserves some love and respects to entire Star Trek fans (or Trekkies if you will)
_"I was_ frozen _tod-"_ *dies*
I love the Star Trek specials and I remember poor Balzac
RIP Ballsack. Gone but not forgotten. 😭😭😭
I swear, when Kruge tells the one Klingon to feed Ballsack, his response sounded like CHOCOLATE?! 😂😂😂
On the "Last Time in the good Star Trek film" segment in the very beginning, is it suppose to be a spoof of the 1966 Batman TV series recaps?
Yes
A Star Trek red shirt with the word " EXPENDABLE " on it, GENIUS I MUST HAVE ONE!!!
Okay you're stitch was good. 9/10
That Batman intro was spot on.
His William Dolzier impression was uncanny! 😂
One of my favorite repeat jokes is the "...I don't have a joke for this. What is this?!" It makes me laugh every time I don't know why.
A weakling human, a Vulcan boy, and a woman walk into a sci-fi convention
The joke is that there's a woman
The "weakling human" is never specified as male or female.
18:31 I don't know why but I just can't stop laughing at that part.
Technically, wouldn't Stitch be imitating this guy?
8:20 GENESIS?! Ichiba!
13:54 BALZAC!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
Could you upload the Ghost Rider 2 review soon? That's one of my favorites!
15:47 I like the editing on this part
That Genesis clip got me every time. 😁
9:09 George Takei: Oh my!
Leo Thompson, Brad Jones & Bhargav Dronamraju are the only fun cameos ever hit the show.
BRING BACK BARGO!!!
5:57 Um, Critic, DeForest Kelley wasn't in Transformers 3. In fact, he was long dead before Michael Bay even began imagining the Transformers live action films. Kelley passed away of cancer in 1999. Transformers 3 was released in 2011.
Because Spock's katra was inside of McCoy, who thinks he is Spock, he is referencing Leonard Nimoy's role as Sentinel Prime in Transformers 3.
Was referring to Nimoy seeing as Spock was in Bones
I love how sarcastic Doug is with this movie, he's hilarious! keep up the good work. (P.S. I actually love this movie.)
Is Star Trek worth getting into?
It's a fine series to get into. If you decide to start watching it, though, I have one request: *_please_* for the love of God, start with the actual first episode in the first series, "The Cage". All later shows assume that you have basic knowledge of Star Trek, so it's a good idea to start at the beginning so you can see how the story evolves.
Sure just don't watch Star Trek: Discovery, yes don't get STD.
Nah star wars is better *embraces incoming comments*
I haven't seen this one, is this the one where Yoda teaches Luke how to use the schwartz?
1:40 - This film is a rebuttal to the lesson of the previous film. Playing the end sequence backwards is a symbolic sign of that.
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.
The needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many.
13:42 The Death Of Balzac
15:53 Enterprise + Countdown = BOOM!!!
Hopefully Star Trek 5 is the next reupload; that was the best vid of Star Trek Month
Kruge exclaims via communicator, after the Enterprise's firing kills Ballzack in ship-to-ship combat: *"KIRRRK!!!!!"* 📞😣
🐕🎵 *#IWillRememberYou* 🎵
I honestly felt he would have gone with a Godzilla 1999 joke with that mind meld scene..
R.I.P: Ballsack,
God knows how far in the future/ Slightly further in said future
He will be greatly missed...
I'm surprise that an ad still plays after Doug just said "ball sack" a bunch of times. 😂
NOOOOOOOO!!! NOT BALLSACK!!!
Oh and David...he died too
I'm not sure if someone said this already, but next January the Nostalgia Critic should do Sharknado Month!
