@@HappilyEverHanks Yes we do. Toy Hauler 5th wheeler. Looking forward to getting out on the road to create some awesome memories. I enjoy the fun spin yall put on it.
That’s amazing!! You guys are #Goals in life!! 😃🙌🏼 we have always wanted to own a fifth wheel toy hauler one day! Hope to see you guys out on the road one day soon as well, it would be great to meet you in person!! Thank you so much friend
You nailed it Dawn!! We are busting out and heading somewhere warm this year! 😁🙌🏼 No more winters for us lol Much love to you for all your support ❤️ Have a great weekend!
The chances of me ever needing to winterize like that here in Florida are pretty small. But I enjoyed it nonetheless and hung in till the end. You know like only a true fan would LOL
to winterize the trailer, i spent the whole year in wy. in my trailer , working a pipeline job, i placed 1/4" plywood around the openings of sides the trailer, i also placed the rubber tires on a sheet of plywood from the cold under the tires. this make no froze o the tires. . on the cold and hot pipes, as well as the lines for the grey and the black the help insulate the pipes from freezing. heater wraps are the best around the water, gray and black tanks.as far as sweat in the trailer from the extra heat, the vent in the bathroom a crack open all the time with the bathroom door closed. only if the bottom of the door has a 1/2" opening under the door to the floor.
You both are so sweet, honest and smart. I'm retired RVer, Ohio Appalachian foothills. On my own land with utilities. Much of what you do, I do. Parked, with foam skirting, heated hose, heat tape. Yes, I too have the Arctic Package!! But it ain't enough for real Winter, y'all. I rent 2-100# propane tanks, reorder as soon as one runs out. Have insulator cubes in skylights. My best idea this year: shrink wrap plastic kits from Duck. 10 windows. I wanna see out!! Wow, really cut down on wind, heat loss through single pane glass. Gonna buy pipe noodles for slides. My 5th wheel is abt size of yours. Dehumidifier is on the list. Also need a mesh pad that allow air circ under mattress. Made in USA, on Amazon. I just subbed your channel🎉😂! Thank you guys!
Hi Carol!! Thank you for your amazing support ❤️ We love hearing about your setup in Ohio! It sounds like settled perfectly into the RV life. Keep us posted on how your winter goes. Stay safe and warm!
@@HappilyEverHanks I was still working nights when we went full-time. I didn't hear very much campground activity during the day and we were in a busy city park.
Thank you so much Laurel!! You guys are so awesome 🤗❤️ It’s probably getting chilly up there in Michigan right? Are you guys going to make a break for some warm weather this winter?
Thank you very much Nora! We felt that it was necessary to dip back into “past times” to bring our point across 🤣 it kind of helps to give us a kick in the butt and reminds us to not do this again lol
That is a superb tip!! I wonder how much one of those would cost? It seems like it would be a great addition for those looking to spend winter in their RV 😃 Congrats on the new F-350 by the way, that is so exciting. You must be thrilled!!
More of a theory than a tip, probably have to insulate the lines for added insurance but thats pretty cheap too. I cant see a reason it wouldn’t work. Also thanks Hanks, im really excited.
I think this is the best, most thorough winter RV tip video I've ever seen! Great job guys! We MAY do some weekend trips this winter... definitely need to be prepared!
WOW!! Thank you 😁🙌🏼🙌🏼 This is so awesome of you to say!!!! Yes, preparation is everything 😃 How has your weekend been so far?? Are temperatures definitely cooling down where y’all are?
@@HappilyEverHanks OH yes! We've had some dips into the 30s already and that's already far too cold for me! 🤣 Interested to see how winter camping goes when we actually get to it! Just bought a super small solo stove though so maybe that will help
My wife and I travel for work and we spend winters in the camper. Our first on we used the green insulation board and aluminum duck tape and put a small utility heater under the tanks. Wasn't to bad on propane at first, but as the camper got older,it got colder. We use a 100 pound tank. Yeah it's a pain to load and unload, but it's better than constantly refilling tanks. We had a 30 pound tank next to it,so we used it while the big tank was being filled. We used plastic and tarps once and once is all you want to use it. It constantly flaps in the wind, even when weighted down. Don't forget to drain the sewer hose after dumping the tanks. They tend to freeze and bust. But the whole manufactured skirting is nice, but ridiculously expensive.
Great tips, but im thinking headed to Key west around Sept and stay till May should be good. Lol yea, we can dream right. Love you guys, already looking forward to next week.
We are right there dreaming with ya Rob!! Key West sounds amazing right about now 😎👍🏼 much love to you as well for all your amazing support, have a great weekend friend!!
Okay you two are the funniest…as an aspiring trailer owner (soon!), I hope I can have as much fun as you guys seem to be and hopefully I’ll see you out “there”. Thanks for the incredibly good video and I’ve subscribed!
We so appreciate your wonderful comment, Garrett! We hope to meet you one day on the road as well 🙂 It's a small world in RV life, so it's bound to happen!
Thanks again RV family. I was entertained from beginning to end. I was giggling at last years winter video when Karl was outside sitting in the snow having coffee and Renee knocking ice off the side of the RV. I’m sorry if I spelled your names incorrect. Thanks for providing us with such useful winter tips. As always this is a rock solid video. Thank you so much both of you for sharing your great talent with us. I can’t wait to see next weeks episode. Someone should offer you guys a tv series deal. I rather watch you guys then prime time on television. You guys are prime time for a lot of us. Thanks again for sharing.
Absolutely!! Thank you so much for your amazing support. It’s Kyle and Renee or Carl and Ney Ney 😄🙌🏼 This is amazing!! You mean so much to us, your kindness is so refreshing!! What are your names?? Hopefully we can meet you guys out on the road one day soon!
@@HappilyEverHanks that will be so cool. We will try to make it to you guys next meet up. I’m Ricky, my wife is Anita, our children are Ricky Jr, Greyson, Kalisha, Karisna, and Melanie. Our dogs name is Mac. He’s a chocolate Lab. Thank you for asking 😊.
Another great video with awesome tips! When we were near Aiken, South Carolina we had a couple weeks of cold and snow! We didn't have the skirting that you had and the floors of our travel trailer was freezing! I was also told that you can put a heat lamp in the storage area of your 5th wheel to keep the pipes from freezing. Also, trickle your faucets! Dexter looked so cozy on his bed in front of the fireplace. Wherever your next destination takes you, stay safe and keep warm this winter! Happy Thanksgiving to you! 🦃
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well Lori ❤️ Love these amazing suggestions, and this is really great feedback and tips 🤗 it’s amazing how much that skirting actually warms up the floor as well!! We were blown away at how much of a difference it made!
Excellent content, as always! You were right when you said #buckaroos! We spent 2 winters in our RV! 2 Newfoundland’s didn’t help as much as we thought they would…except for warm cuddles!!! Love ya guys…til next time, safe travels ❤️
Just a tip of you put the reflective side facing in it does much better an the thinner foam board doesn't work as well. I helped my friend do his fifth wheel and he used the three inch reflective foam board and it helps so much.
No problem I myself am still learning as my family and I live in camper full time and know a couple people who do as well! Loving the content, Happy camping life!
Hey Janine!! Long time no see stranger 😉 It’s great to hear from you!! Thank you for your amazing support and awesome gift ❤️❤️ Much love from the Hanks family, talk to you again soon!! 😊
I agree I stay in phx Az for the winter so we don’t go through that cold living . I hold 38 gals of propane and pretty much cook on the stove and knock off the chill in the mornings and in 4 years only filled it once and it took 12 gals but we don’t do cold weather, we did do a week in Moab in February but stayed on electricity we put some lights (old Fashion ) in the belly and that kept stuff from freezing. We now stay on our tank water a 100% of the time due to line failures , that is the easiest way to limit water damage from pipes that have been stretched from freezing the water is limited to what you hold not what a city can provide. It can happen so just be prepared.
Thank you Timothy for the great information! You really made your propane last a long time! We appreciate you taking the time out of your day to watch and share this information! 😃
My husband and are in central GA till the end of this year. Our travel trailer tends to get bad condensation on our windows when the temps drop below 45 degrees. So we put bubble wrap on the windows and then covered them with plastic. We haven’t had any issues of condensation on them even though it’s gotten down to 30 degrees here already. Also put a curtain up over the door to help minimize the draft there as well. Just some other ideas.
This is great information and tips Amanda!! Thank you for sharing this with us 😃🙌🏼 It’s amazing how much those sheets/curtains can cut down on the drafts. Love the bubble wrap idea, keep these great comments coming on other videos as well!! 😃👍🏼 Awesome feedback
Let us know how it goes or if you learn any other tips as you go. Comment them under the video for others to learn! Y’all will do great! Thank you for all the support 😃
Very well done & presented. We go out at least 1x a month year round. one trip we got caught at a State Campground when it started to snow. The first night about 50% left. 2nd day the camp host warned us of another front coming. Everyone else left. I drained my water tanks (not the black). Disconnected the 'city' water hose and drained it every night before turning in. wrapped the hose bib with an old towel. In the morning took a teapot of hot water and poured it over the outside of the hose bib and reconnected. Jumped up on the roof in the morning & again in the early evening and swept off the snow. The real fun was 3 days later when I had to dig out a path for the tires to run and a bit of the center so the trailer belly wouldn't drag to get to the packed snow on the road. I got my daily workout in. I always figured worse case scenario we could leave the trailer and jump in our 4x4 p/u and drive into town and come back later. If I could attach photos you could see the real Winter Wonderland we were in... It was well worth it.... BTW.. I always carry a shovel.
Thank you so much for sharing! Sounds similar to our state park experience in Colorado! You were smarter about it though! Glad it all worked out and now you have great tips and experience to share! Stay warm 😃
Here in the upstate of South Carolina and it is getting into the low 40s and high 30s. And it’s only November… makes me nervous knowing we’re not far away from the official transition to RV life. Very helpful information you two are giving. Very much appreciated. #thankshanks #goodcontentgang May I add that is nighttime temps. We still reach the 70s during the day
So apparently Ney Ney had the mind meld happening with us in the audience. Great information you two. Carl it's ok to let her rip on that new throne. Was the cold weather gear for show or are you in a cold climate?
Hahahaha!!!! Wayne you never disappoint with your hilarious comments 🤣🙌🏼 You always bring smiles to our faces!! This was last year for us, we are not repeating this winter! Heading to warmer climates 😁👍🏼
Yourcin Florida so it's very funny you saying winter camping. Come up north were we have real winters. Florida winter is nothing literally no snow or ice roads.
Simplest method to keep your wet bay above freezing is a 60W or 100W incandescent light (work light) as long as you have shore power. I full time in Houston and although not many freezing days, when we do get a hard freeze the park will shut off the water and we live off the water tank until they turn the water back on. With just 2 work lights I have been able to keep my belly above 40 degrees (as long as I have power. After the power grid loss I also have a trifuel generator as well).
Great video!! I do not have double windows but I do think they would be worth it if you are going to live in the rv full time for sure! Also being from northern Michigan I know that letting your water run about a pencil led diameter helps the pipes not freeze
@@HappilyEverHanks we were in Whistler British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦 Not full time but adventurous campers. You should try to check out Whistler at some point in your travels. Thanks for your content, we really enjoy following you guys! Cheers
We REALLY want to come visit one day soon, it has always been a dream of ours ❤️ it must be beautiful where are you guys are! Thank you again for everything, keep these wonderful comments coming on other videos as well. You mean so much to us!!
I'll take option number 2 in Illinois Alex for WTF It's cold. Love the video guys. So spot on with the information! We went with a professional group out of South Dakota that didn't do the snap skirting. It's made things so much better having the thick canvas skirt. We've even used it in the summer to keep things cooler in the super hot summers.. I've never had a company not rent us a 100 gallon tank. The main thing we have ran into is companies not wanting to service tanks that were not theirs actually. Usually we have to use their regulators or have them certify/inspect the aux propane access that's on most newer rv's these days. Keep up the awesome videos =)
The snow doesn't bother me. Its the wind and trees. I moved this week after a tree dropped its top. And wouldn't you know it...the slide was stick out.😖 Good thing I wasn't going but 200 feet. They took the dead, rotten tree out yesterday.👍
@@HappilyEverHanks Just got a text from the recommended mobile repair guy, but he's not longer coming to this area.😐 Backing back into my spot with the slide out may be fun😬 Have a GREAT weekend!
Thank you Tim!! We really appreciate this 😊We look forward to hearing from you! Hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving as well ❤️Much love from the Hanks family!!
One thing I do is, I get blue painters tape from the Dollor tree and use a lid from a ice cream container. I use the lid as a template, cut a circle the same size as your air conditioner vents. Use the tape, start at one end and overlap the tape all the way down. Trim with scissors peal and stick on air vents. Thanks.
That’s fantastic information Ron!! Thank you for taking the time to share this with us and everyone reading 😃👍🏼 Keep these great tips coming, we hope to hear from you again soon!!
You guys should also invest in electrical heat tape for your pipes inside your underbelly. That way you don’t have to worry about your pipes freezing again. 😁 By the way happy Thanksgiving to both of you, I hope you have a good time with your family if you make it there.
Hey Stephanie! Thank you so much! That is a smart idea, our underbelly was so wrapped and covered at the time. We avoided opening it up but maybe should have. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well!
Yes!! James you are so right, we need to chase that warm weather 😁👍🏼 No more PA winters for us!! Thank you for your continued support, have a nice weekend
All situated in our Solitude at an RV park. I want to hook up to a 100 pound propane tank instead of running on the two 30lb tanks. Can you recommend what additional hoses and fittings I'll need to get it all hooked up? Maybe you guys could do a how too video on adding an external tank to the system for winter RV living. Thanks for all the other winter living tips, will be underpinning ours soon.
Hey! Smart idea! This is the adapter we used to connect to a 100lb tank. Each connection varies between rv and tank type though! urlgeni.us/amzn/propaneadapter Thanks for watching and all your support 😃
I always use the blue foam sheets . Thicker, no bb's everywhere. Put it the skylights and around windows. Ooen a kickout panel for the shower. I build a wood box for to inclose water line and sewer,
Well from 92 till 98 my wife and i spent xmas from nov 1ft to jan 7th in muncy pa at lycoming mall as silver and gold smiths. It was 4 below constent temp. We renter a 450 lb tank and we went to the hardware store an bought clear plastic sheet storm windows for our rv. Now at that temp we used 10lbs every 4 days that says a lot for how rvs were made then as oposed to today. We keep the temp at 72 deg. It was fine. 80 gal water tank i filled about every 3 nights. We stayed in the mall parking lot close enough to the mall that we pulled electric from there and an mg room had water outlet.
That’s excellent! We love hearing about your story and how you guys handle these situations!! How awesome you guys were near Muncy! We worked in Williamsport as travel nurses 😃🙌🏼 Are you guys fans of the Little League World Series? I had nooooo idea that even existed until working there
My hubs and I think you guys are hilarious and so very helpful. Question though....at what temperature levels (in general) would you suggest skirting? Are we talking consistent snow or consistent freezing temperatures? And are you talking for a few weeks of these elements or like a full season?
Hey guys! Thanks for all your love and support! Here's our take on it... It all depends how long you'll be in the elements and how much propane you care to blow through. We did a nursing assignment in Bend, Oregon early 2020 (started end of Feb). We felt it wasn't too cold to skirt for such a short remainder the winter season there. The temps would drop to maybe 13F to 17F some nights but we just made sure to keep the propane always filled. It wasn't until the temps dropped to the single digits in Colorado and Pennsylvania that our pipes said "nope, can't do it anymore". An entire winter in PA - yes, skirting! If we were there maybe just one month , may not be worth it. Hope this helps! Have a great weekend!
Good advice!! I live in Canada so I strongly recommend dual pane (tri-pane for upgrades) windows! A lot of people prefer the frameless windows (for the aesthetic) but the dual-pane windows are better insulators and keep the RV warmer in winter and cooler in the summer.
Well out of 7 years of being there we met a lot of nice people a lot were frends some even helped us with our sales in the mall. They became more than customers they were close friends. But we never went to a single game. Very nice people and more stories
Thank you so much!! 😊🙌🏼 this is really great information, sounds like you are well experienced with being in Canada!! What part of Canada are you from?? Also what kind of rig do you own? 😃
@@HappilyEverHanks Currently parked on Vancouver Island but we've traveled coast to coast to coast in every season driving a big Class A but now we have a GD Solitude 3740BH-R.
Put those noodles on your dump pipes. You know, those that come out of the belly to let the tanks drain. Remember, Texas ran out of propain last year during the freeze. You might want rubber under your Jack's to keep them freezing to the ground.
Another great video from the Hanks! Awesome tips for the winter! We are moochdocking at my mother in laws in PA until after Thanksgiving then heading south and west! Tomorrows low is 28 and wind is blowing out there right now! I love Thursdays for your videos! Thanks Carl and Ney Ney!
Thank you very much Erin! Wow, it is starting to get chilly there 🥶 Love that you guys are bustin that joint and heading south! Stay safe friends, hope to see y’all out there! 😊👍🏼
Awesome video #ThanksHanks! 190 days and we hope to chase the 70 degrees! Quartzite is not my favorite place in the U.S. but a lot less chance of the freaky blizzard or 10 degree weather. Hope to see you two on the road.
We ran outta gas our last trip. And I swear I had one full 30lb tank. 2 days later, we ran out the morning we were heading home. So yeah, check the Propane before a trip when the temps are gonna drop. Love your videos! You guys could literally have a network sitcom!!!
We were just talking about making the skirting for our rig, even though we're in the sticks and bricks for the winter. We do hope to get out into the campground for winter camping at a week at a time.
Oh nice! It is actually really beautiful watching snow fall from the RV windows! We'll probably miss that! Would you get professional skirting since you would have to move it? Thanks for watching!
@@HappilyEverHanks we will have to go the cheap route for this season. But it's it's possible down the road. We're in southeast Michigan where winters have been lite on snow the last few years. Last year at this time we were camping and got every type of weather. ....rain, 60 degrees and then 4 inches of snow which was only around for maybe 24 hours before it melted. But your right....snow while inside the rig is priceless,my favorite thing from last year. I know this is more of a person question and I hope you don't mind me asking. I know you've spoken that your traveling nurses. ....does that dictate your travels,or do you decided where you want to be then apply for the positions in your area?
Hey Tom! I'm sure that's coming in the planning of future RVs. It would be rough though if the power went out because the propane furnace can run off the battery. You would have to keep a generator running 24/7 to keep everything warm.
Whew! This is a lot to take in here, guys! In order to avoid the cold weather, do you guys have a favorite place to go during the winter months? Or do you continue to move around a lot?
Hey Terri! So far (besides PA during winter) we've been in California and Oregon. In most parts of CA, it doesn't get too cold. Maybe low 30F in the early mornings. We can tolerate that. We are looking to spend our time in all the southern states each winter! A lot of people go to Florida every winter but we would like to add AZ and TX to that! Thanks for watching and your comment! 😃
@@HappilyEverHanks Im just starting out. Two trips last year. Just started booking 2022 trips to ensure I have the campsites. I don’t have my own rig (yet). I’ve been renting the exact model rig I was looking at purchasing from a couple just a few miles from me. It’s worked out perfect! It’s been a great experience, so far, in learning about the rig, what I like, what I don’t like about the rig. I’m still sold the model, which works well for me and the couple that owns the rig. Three trips planned for this year. I’m looking forward to learning more this coming year…the good and the “challenges.” Thanks for asking.
That’s so wonderful to hear 😊👍🏼 Sounds like you are well on your way to having things figured out! Glad you found a nice model that suits your needs, sometimes that can be hard with so many to choose from lol We appreciate you getting back to us! We are sad to report that our little home is going in the shed this Saturday and it will hibernate until March. (insert moment of silence here) We will have to get our RV fix from you guys on RUclips for a few months but we will be back out there when it warms up. #letRripcarl
Oh no! Hopefully this winter will fly by and you guys will be back on the road with new adventures on the horizon 😎 thank you so much friend, we can’t wait to meet you guys!!
Sandra Westley uk all our campers are double glazed and have been for years, cannot imagine how cold those windows are with our double glazing, you get continually condensation running down the windows.
🙈 We have single pane windows in our 1984 Itasca Winnebago Class A Motorhome.🏞️ Don't forget to mention that rodent's/🐁mice come into your RV during the cold weather to eat wiring!!☔🤭 #davesandersstepdaughter
That’s a really great point! Thank you for mentioning this, we failed to talk about this in the video. We actually noticed some critters foot prints nearby the camper after there was fresh snow. Seems like they were trying to get in to the warmth! If you don’t mind, can you tell us a little more of your story? The hash tag has us intrigued. No pressure ❤️
@@HappilyEverHanks You're welcome. 🤗 My hashtag is to keep my Stepdad teacher and coach 🏀 Dave Sanders memory alive since he was murdered at Columbine High school along with 12 students on April 20,1999.💙 Thank you for asking. 😁 I love watching your adventures.✌️

We’re the ones that head to warmer weather states even though our RV has the Artic package. Cold weather just doesn’t agree with our bones anymore, so California is the place to avoid the extreme winter weather! Yes there are areas that get down to the freeze point, but thank goodness they are few and far between. If there is days that get down to 32 degrees or below we make sure that we keep a drizzle at the faucets with the grey tank open and that keeps the water pipes and sewer tube from freezing. You presented some really good information for those rough riders who want to camp in cold weather conditions, for us we choose to avoid those areas like the plague! Hope you guys are headed to warmer weather conditions during this winter, due to the supply issues it’s going to be really costly this winter. Currently in California, fuel costs have skyrocketed. Diesel is hovering around $5/gal and propane is hovering around $4.50/gal. Shortages of food products have escalated prices at the markets. Hope that once the supply issues change prices will normalize once again! Best wishes and Happy Holidays to you both, Take Care and be Safe traveling this Winter.
Thank you Tim! We appreciate your great comment! You are so smart to avoid the cold weather! We know some people have to rough it out because of work. We are definitely headed to warm temps this season! Happy Holidays to you guys! ❤️
I work at an RV park. When people use the foam skirting they put a layer of leaves along the bottom of the foam. This allows ice to form on the leaves and not on the bottom of the foam. Another camper put a large tarp over his RV and staked the ends about 10 ft. from the RV. Keep your awning out a few feet to create room for your door. The tarp has to be tight. This keeps the wind off of your RV. Most people pay for expensive snap on skirting
Hey Bryan! This is some wonderful information, we had never thought of the leaves being an extra layer of insulation! Thank you for taking the time to write out these tips for us and everyone reading 😃 We appreciate your support! Is it starting to get quite a bit colder there in New Jersey??
@@HappilyEverHanks yes daily Temps have been in the 40s. I have to wear a hoody and a couple tee-shirts to stay warm at the Campground. It's supposed to warm up a little this week. Where are you now?
I just put a bunch of pool noodles on the slide outs cause so much air gets in through there! I've been telling my husband we need skitting for the RV. We do have electric heaters for our water hose. I have rhat silver tape but it didn't stick well
We live full time in our rv in North Georgia we use the foam noodles from Lowe’s to cover our water hose just a few dollars so you don’t need a heated hose we get below freezing all the time at night we have never used propane in our rig to heat it we just use the fireplace and a ceramic heater in the bathroom at night on a timer we do have a enclosed belly but no tank warmers I guess it really depends on where you stay if you need to run the propane throughout the night
Cheaper than that, you can go to home depot and get some armor flex insulation, its made for insulating water piping and isnt as bulky but permanent if you want it to be.
Thank you so much for sharing! This is great when everyone shares their tips 😃 We learned our pipes started to really need heat when it drops below 20 F
Hey guys, must say another great video! We spent our first night in our home on wheels last night. It's the full-time RV life from here on out! Thank you so much for the tips as we are new to this and will be spending about 2 months in cold climates. Look forward to seeing you down the road.
@@HappilyEverHanks We live on an acreage so I have plenty of winterizing to do. I have considered doing something here for boondocking. We have an amazing view with beautiful sunsets every evening. We are up on a hill and can see for miles.
How much propane would someone go through per day during winter? Surely not 30 pds?!? What’s the daily cost? Thank you for the wonderful video. Glad to see y’all doing well. ❤️ btw update: My husband had a job interview he’s hired pending his background check. Praying and fingers crossed!
Congrats!!! That is great news! It depends on temperature! During the negative and single digit temps in Colorado last year we had to fill a 30lb tanks every 1 to 1.5 days -ish. Cost around $24-27 to fill at the time there! Thanks for watching 😃 Best of luck with everything!
I have learn to love so much your videos… I wish we have two Thursday a week 😂. We bought in a RV last month looking forward to this adventure full time living while we still doing military life. Thank you and safe travels

It's my first winter in the RV, I don't plan to go anywhere north/east of Arizona 😛
I guarantee you most of your fans will watch the entire video. You two are great.
Spot on with this Video . First winter for me . All my research is in this video 😃.
WOW!!! Thank you guys so much for your amazing support :) Love hearing this!!!
4. It's a mystery.
Always look forward to Thursday evenings to watch your video. Love the positive vibes.
Thank you so much Larry! We really appreciate your support!! 😊🙌🏼 Do you currently own a camper?
@@HappilyEverHanks Yes we do. Toy Hauler 5th wheeler. Looking forward to getting out on the road to create some awesome memories. I enjoy the fun spin yall put on it.
That’s amazing!! You guys are #Goals in life!! 😃🙌🏼 we have always wanted to own a fifth wheel toy hauler one day! Hope to see you guys out on the road one day soon as well, it would be great to meet you in person!! Thank you so much friend
Thanks Hanks once again for great advice coming from your own experience 👍 😀
Thank you Gary! We appreciate your support and feedback 😃
Yeah! It’s Thursday- time for a “hankin” good time 😂 Great video!! Hope you’re wintering somewhere warm this year!
You nailed it Dawn!! We are busting out and heading somewhere warm this year! 😁🙌🏼 No more winters for us lol
Much love to you for all your support ❤️ Have a great weekend!
Love what you guys do, teaching serious stuff in a way that’s fun and interesting! Thanks
Thank you so much for your incredible support and feedback 😊❤️ this means so much to us! Are you guys living the RV life??
The chances of me ever needing to winterize like that here in Florida are pretty small. But I enjoyed it nonetheless and hung in till the end. You know like only a true fan would LOL
You are so awesome!! Thank you for your incredible support ❤️❤️ Yes, definitely don’t have to worry about that in Florida 😄👍🏼 Cheers friend!
to winterize the trailer, i spent the whole year in wy. in my trailer , working a pipeline job, i placed 1/4" plywood around the openings of sides the trailer, i also placed the rubber tires on a sheet of plywood from the cold under the tires. this make no froze o the tires. . on the cold and hot pipes, as well as the lines for the grey and the black the help insulate the pipes from freezing. heater wraps are the best around the water, gray and black tanks.as far as sweat in the trailer from the extra heat, the vent in the bathroom a crack open all the time with the bathroom door closed. only if the bottom of the door has a 1/2" opening under the door to the floor.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share all this great information! How cold did it get there?
LOVE our dual pane windows! No condensation when it was extremely hot/humid outside and cool inside. Also, a good sound barrier.
That is great information, thank you so much for sharing Alexia! 😃 We had no idea it would help with sound as well!
@@HappilyEverHanks I was still working nights when we went full-time. I didn't hear very much campground activity during the day and we were in a busy city park.
That’s wonderful! Might have to look into these, thank you for the first hand knowledge Alexia! We hope to hear from you again soon 🙂👋🏼
Another awesome video, always look forward to Thursday night with the Hanks and the edutainment!!!!
Thank you so much Laurel!! You guys are so awesome 🤗❤️ It’s probably getting chilly up there in Michigan right? Are you guys going to make a break for some warm weather this winter?
I think we are going to either Arkansas or New Mexico in April. Other than that it's snuggles and hot chocolate for us!!!
Love watching you guys, always puts a smile on my face.
Thank you so much friend! We really appreciate your awesome support 😊🙌🏼 we are so happy that you reached out!! Are you living the RV life??
5th year on missouri. 2014 Solitude 369RL. No problem.
Love hearing this Clayton!! You have such a nice unit 👍🏼 do you have a professional skirting or what do you recommend?
Love our dual pane windows on our Solitude.
Very nice!! We wish we could have them on our unit, they seem nice to have not only in winter but also summer!
Happy to see you guys I remember that year when y'all were in Pennsylvania I don't like the white stuff very informative vlog tonight
Thank you very much Nora! We felt that it was necessary to dip back into “past times” to bring our point across 🤣 it kind of helps to give us a kick in the butt and reminds us to not do this again lol
A circulating pump for the water lines may be more cost effective. Moving water doesn’t freeze.
I have never heard of a circulating pump wow great tip!
You never rvd in ND then..lol..
Depends on where your at, i tried it in ND and still froze up
I think this is the best, most thorough winter RV tip video I've ever seen!
That’s awesome! Keep us updated on how the stove works out for you 😃👍🏼
My wife and I travel for work and we spend winters in the camper.
Thanks for the video! Have always been in Florida for the winter but you never know.
Hey Chuck!! Sounds like you have it figured out WELL from the get go 😁🙌🏼 Have a great weekend friend, we look forward to catching up more soon!!
Oh my gosh, you guys always get us laughing outloud! Love the entertaining way you bring the knowledge!👍
You are so sweet! Thank you so much 😃❤️

Good information guys. Had to winterize mine but at keystone I get to watch you guys during the winter.
Hey Scott! Thanks for still tuning in! We’ll keep it fun! 😃 The rig and weather will be ready before you know it!
My best tip for winter.....head south! Peace'ing out baby!!
You nailed it Don!!! We totally agree with you, no more winter for us! It’s great to hear from you friend 😎👍🏼 thank you for everything!
Well I still say a warm Dexter is the best friend in bed for our Rving. Excellent video a million paws up
Why do we love you guys so much?!?!?! ….. stay warm, hope to see you at a rally soon. 🌨️☃️❄️🙂
Hahaha!! Thank you Kerry 😊🙌🏼 Goodness you guys are pros at winter camping by now!! Have a great weekend, we look forward to catch up again soon ❤️
Just a tip of you put the reflective side facing in it does much better an the thinner foam board doesn't work as well. I helped my friend do his fifth wheel and he used the three inch reflective foam board and it helps so much.
Thank you very much Mathew! We appreciate your insight 😃
No problem I myself am still learning as my family and I live in camper full time and know a couple people who do as well! Loving the content, Happy camping life!
#ThanksHanks .... yet again you have managed to entertain us and school us all at the same time .... Nicely done ... Thx Larry and Cathy

Love how they always look at each other with weird looks
Thanks Hanks! Love y’all’s advice , now we are ready for winter at Camp Turkeyville in Michigan!
Let us know how it goes or if you learn any other tips as you go. Comment them under the video for others to learn! Y’all will do great! Thank you for all the support 😃
Wowza.... Came for the info.... Staying for the smokin hot Hank..... He's chill too tho....
Thank you for watching
Stay warm 😃
Winter RVers and full time up in Hills. Only the tough and informed will survive! I learn much from all of you.
Here in the upstate of South Carolina and it is getting into the low 40s and high 30s. And it’s only November… makes me nervous knowing we’re not far away from the official transition to RV life. Very helpful information you two are giving. Very much appreciated.
#thankshanks #goodcontentgang
May I add that is nighttime temps. We still reach the 70s during the day
Definitely hear what you are saying Jonathan!! We are so happy that you enjoyed 😊🙌🏼 Do you think you are going to need to skirt eventually??
So apparently Ney Ney had the mind meld happening with us in the audience. Great information you two. Carl it's ok to let her rip on that new throne. Was the cold weather gear for show or are you in a cold climate?
Hahahaha!!!! Wayne you never disappoint with your hilarious comments 🤣🙌🏼 You always bring smiles to our faces!! This was last year for us, we are not repeating this winter! Heading to warmer climates 😁👍🏼
We love winter camping…… here in Florida.
Love this
Can’t say I disagree with you there! 😄🙌🏼 hopefully we can do the same this year!!!
Yourcin Florida so it's very funny you saying winter camping. Come up north were we have real winters. Florida winter is nothing literally no snow or ice roads.
Thats about all you got. Other months are too hot to the point its a ghost town. Been there done that. No thanks
Loved the video. Carl,..,let’er rip!!!!! The new RV magazine is cool too. Thanks for the discount
Thank you so much for your wonderful support Ed!! How is the RV shopping coming along? 😀

I won't be winter camping but I love your videos. Keep up the good work and fun.
Thank you very much Robin!! 😊❤️ This means a lot to us!! We hope to hear from you again soon, stay safe
Awesome info!!!
Thank you so much!! 😊🙌🏼 we are so glad you enjoyed!! ❤️ have a wonderful weekend!!
Great video!! I do not have double windows but I do think they would be worth it if you are going to live in the rv full time for sure! Also being from northern Michigan I know that letting your water run about a pencil led diameter helps the pipes not freeze
That's a great tip Shawn! Thank you for sharing. Also yes, smart to get the dual pane windows right away if full-timing! Appreciate you support!
I've had both and they are worth it. you have to watch the whole pane may not be double pane. Reguardless they are worth it
Did the igloo thing last winter, works in a pinch. No frozen pipes, even at -15 c 🥶
Wow! That’s amazing to hear Rory! Glad to know it work for you 😃 where were you that it dropped to -15?? Are you full time on the road?
@@HappilyEverHanks we were in Whistler British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦 Not full time but adventurous campers. You should try to check out Whistler at some point in your travels. Thanks for your content, we really enjoy following you guys! Cheers

I just saw a video on air bags skirting on RV Bloggers page. It looks like a great option.
This is so awesome that you shared all this! Thank you so much! Makes sense the skirting would help in summer as well!
The snow doesn't bother me. Its the wind and trees. I moved this week after a tree dropped its top.
And wouldn't you know it...the slide was stick out.😖 Good thing I wasn't going but 200 feet.
They took the dead, rotten tree out yesterday.👍
Oh no! You also have bad encounters with trees! Hope everything works out well!
@@HappilyEverHanks
Just got a text from the recommended mobile repair guy, but he's not longer coming to this area.😐
Backing back into my spot with the slide out may be fun😬
Have a GREAT weekend!
Hope you have a great weekend too friend ❤️ Stay safe, hope things work out for smoothly with the backing in!!
If you are staying somewhere with lots of leaves on the ground, bag then up and can use them to go around the RV underbelly also. Better than nothing.
Oh that's a great idea! Never heard of that. We appreciate you taking time out of your day to watch and leave a great tip!
Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours. Love the videos looking forward to Thursdays just for your videos
Have a happy turkey day hanks
Thank you very much Patrick!! We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well 😊Stay safe
I was thinking the same thing. Grand Design support told me they recommend against opening the underbody.
Great advice! Thanks for sharing! We appreciate y'all!
Thank you very much Bo!! 🤗 we are so glad that it is helpful! Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend ❤️ Stay safe

Time to go to Arizona ☀️

Thanks for watching and all your support 😃
We upgraded to a heat pump on our solitude. But, it works only in the living room area. We use a space heater and two dogs!
This is great Lisa!! Didn’t even think of the upgrade to a heat pump 😃🙌🏼 thank you for sharing this! Have a wonderful weekend, talk again soon ❤️
We worked in Williamsport as travel nurses 😃🙌🏼
Are you guys fans of the Little League World Series?
That’s wonderful to hear Howard 😊🙌🏼 That’s amazing how you can make so many great friends along the way!!
@@HappilyEverHanks Currently parked on Vancouver Island but we've traveled coast to coast to coast in every season driving a big Class A but now we have a GD Solitude 3740BH-R.

Was that Carl at the beginning of the video or a very cool polar bear 🐻❄️ in a robe drinking hot cocoa?
Some kind of wild Carl maybe?? They are rare but can be lured easily with tacos and Corona!
Great tips guys love them as we are wintering as well...;)
Hey guys! Thank you so much! If you guys have any of your own tips to share, feel free to comment them as you go! 😃
Put those noodles on your dump pipes. You know, those that come out of the belly to let the tanks drain.
Remember, Texas ran out of propain last year during the freeze.
You might want rubber under your Jack's to keep them freezing to the ground.
These are such great tips! Thank you so much Aaron for sharing and watching 😃
That is so true! We have yet to visit there someday but know it’s a popular spot to go! Thanks for your comment and feedback 😃
We ran outta gas our last trip. And I swear I had one full 30lb tank. 2 days later, we ran out the morning we were heading home. So yeah, check the Propane before a trip when the temps are gonna drop. Love your videos! You guys could literally have a network sitcom!!!
Thank you, Jim! Could regular TV handle us though?? Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge!
Omg Chad and I are the people with water on our walls from condensation 😳 Gonna go get a humidifier today! Thanks for the tip!
Glad you came across our video! That happened to us with our first rig! Thanks for watching 😃
Do they make an electric heat system so you don’t have to use propane?
Hey Tom! I'm sure that's coming in the planning of future RVs. It would be rough though if the power went out because the propane furnace can run off the battery. You would have to keep a generator running 24/7 to keep everything warm.
Good stuff ! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you very much John! Have a great weekend 😎🙌🏼 Cheers
I installed a small WiFi electric heater in the underbelly, we went to an instant on water heater that opened up the plug
That's a good idea! We also heard the same with heat lamps! Thank you Robert!
Great information presented in a fun video. Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback! We appreciate you taking the time out of your day to watch and comment!
I loved being in Arizona last winter and plan on going back to next winter!
Great information!
Thank you very much Michael! We appreciate your awesome support 😊🙌🏼We never asked, are you living the RV life??
@@HappilyEverHanks Im just starting out. Two trips last year. Just started booking 2022 trips to ensure I have the campsites. I don’t have my own rig (yet). I’ve been renting the exact model rig I was looking at purchasing from a couple just a few miles from me. It’s worked out perfect! It’s been a great experience, so far, in learning about the rig, what I like, what I don’t like about the rig. I’m still sold the model, which works well for me and the couple that owns the rig. Three trips planned for this year. I’m looking forward to learning more this coming year…the good and the “challenges.”
Thanks for asking.
That’s so wonderful to hear 😊👍🏼 Sounds like you are well on your way to having things figured out! Glad you found a nice model that suits your needs, sometimes that can be hard with so many to choose from lol We appreciate you getting back to us! Keep these great comments coming, your support means so much to us!! ❤️
@@HappilyEverHanks Keep living life to the fullest. Hope to meet up next summer!
Same to you!! 😊👍🏼
Sandra Westley uk all our campers are double glazed and have been for years, cannot imagine how cold those windows are with our double glazing, you get continually condensation running down the windows.
Hey Sandra! What do you mean by double glazed? We never heard that term before? Thanks for watching and all the support 😃
i thought RVing is downsizing. Its sounds more upsized to me. But I love it!
Oh my ❤️❤️ We are so sorry for your loss Cynthia, what a great way to remember 🤗 Thank you for taking the time to share this with us, much love to you from the Hanks family. Stay safe!!
Happy Thursday. Congratulations on becoming a contributer in the magazine, great tips on cold weather camping. Don't forget your shovel, and broom.
Thank you so much Jeff! We really appreciate your feedback and support 😊👋🏼 How is NC treating you these days? Anything new going on in your neck of the woods??
@@HappilyEverHanks thanks for asking, just the typical NC weather, we're getting ready to go camping over the Thanksgiving break at the beach. Can't wait. Sea food here we come
That sounds incredible 😋 Enjoy your time!! Hope we can hear from you again soon! Stay safe 🙂
Watching all your videos for learning purposes! Our family wants to buy an RV and move into it permanently ASAP :)
Is there an electric heating system as opposed to propane? What RV magazine do you have/recommend?
Hey Tom! I'm sure that's coming in the planning of future RVs. It would be rough though if the power went out because the propane furnace can run off the battery. You would have to keep a generator running 24/7 to keep everything warm.

Thank you for watching Cathy and the comment!
Jacksonville Florida
Diesel $3.43/gal
Propane $3.39/gal
You guys are funny 😄.. great video, keep it up.. safe travels..
Thank you very much Rob! We really appreciate your support 😊🙌🏼 have a fun weekend, stay safe
Well stay warm, we are heading west to warmer temperatures 😎👍🏼 We are sending you all the warm vibes Bryan!! Stay safe friend, talk again soon
@@HappilyEverHanks have a safe trip. We'll talk soon.
I tell ya what, crazy crazy crazy....just got a pig for the propane about a 300 pound. Filled up a 150 gal.
Wow that is a lot! Thanks for sharing 😃
Hey guys, must say another great video! We spent our first night in our home on wheels last night. It's the full-time RV life from here on out! Thank you so much for the tips as we are new to this and will be spending about 2 months in cold climates. Look forward to seeing you down the road.
Congrats you guys!! That is so exciting! We are here for you! Stay warm and thanks from the Hanks for all the support!
We’re picking up our 2022 376bhs today 😊 gonna be in some snow for sure for a little bit.
Those are some great tips. Here in Iowa we feel those cold weather pains from now until March.
Hey Bill! I bet!! Thank you so much for your wonderful support 😊 Do you plan on winter camping??
Just two!!??!! I could handle three or four with the Hanks.
