Thanks Bart glad you enjoyed the content! Chandler did a great job. As did the other caddie I had on my second visit to the resort a few months later. Superb staff all around out at Kiawah.
@@yourgolftravel Just got back from Kiawah. Requested Chandler a few weeks out and when we got there he was at the range and had no clue who we were. I told him Rory sent us. Grip, alignment stance...we dance with the girl we brought. Truly an amazing course...thanks again.

Retired and living in Myrtle Beach, on the coast at the other end of South Carolina, so I can second what you said about the weather at this time of the year, into the early Spring. If you have the first tee time in the morning, you'll need a moc-turtleneck under your polo, or a pullover (jumper), HOWEVER, as little as 4-5 holes into your round, once the sun clears the tops of the trees, the temperature RATCHETS up quickly, and you'll ditch the extra layer.
It can definitely jump around a fair bit can't it Joe? For example on my last day in SC (was in Myrtle Beach) it was so cold my joints were aching! Haha...wasn't ready for that.
Your Golf Travel Creaky joints all a part of the aging process. 😱 Yes, the weather can be up or down here in February & March. It was 75*F last Thu & Fri but dropped down to the 60s, with today as low as 50 today (Wednesday). Just think of February & March in South Carolina as its “Irish Period.” Courses in splendid condition, weather fine with a cool spell now & then.
As far as using the total distance of the course to determine which tees you should play from, I believe that the areas under jurisdiction of the R&A are going to adopt the system used by the USGA, where each course will be rated from EACH tee, for Course Rating (what a scratch golfer would be expected to score from those tees) and Slope (much more important, an arbitrary rating of the overall difficulty from those tees. For a recreational golfer, you'll be better off playing from the tees that have a SLOPE rating that reasonably match what your home course tees will eventually be rated as.
Exactly. I might be wrong but I think it would be a bit more chilled out and a better laugh. It's like when I play with my boss, it's fun, I like him but to be honest it's better when he's not there ⛳
