Over a year later, and I keep returning. I never really paid much attention to this song even though I grew up with JCS and Godspell in Catholic high school. I love the harder rock arrangement and the way Mr. Butz starts softly, builds, peaks, and comes back down. What an outstanding and versatile voice, and strong stage presence. Beautiful work.

Norbert is an absolute story teller and always sings with everything he has. He’s amazing! He totally changed up this song and it still has that same sadness and emotion. The rock n roll of it might actually make it more emotional in my opinion.

I'm a huge theater nerd but I've never liked jesus christ superstar (blasphemy I know lol) but this arrangement is amazing?!? It did the unthinkable, actually make me like a song from that stinkin musical 😂😂 well done
The show is just one act and as fantastic as the music is the staging is not particularly interesting usually.
