@gamedude412 I'm not attacking his sexual orientation. No one is IMO. You can be gay and flamboyant. I know some people in the industry who are just that, and at worst, they are amusing people as they enjoy being. In RTD's case, he is IMO no longer rational, and the trigger date appears to be around the time he lost his partner. He went from being a gay man who did dr who and injected his agenda slightly to making outrageously inappropriate gay shows - RTD said his own mother called it soft core porn - to becoming essentially an evil twin of himself; hostile toward society, grossly inappropriate in public, strident as hell about homosexuality, making speeches which were more Hitler than Heathcliff, basically asserting homosexuals were going to take over the world based on their orientation and irrational in his business thinking and creative writing. He just threw the whole fanbase under the bus publicly, somthing a sane person would never do, plainly, and he meant it, imagining a fantasy audience exists that will replace 8 million people out of a previous ten. Ten at best. And when they don't materialize he apparently believes by calling the homophobes he can shame them into watching and apparently orders his star to say the same thing. This is outrageous and it isn't making a horrible iteration of the show any better. IMO, something is very severely broken in the guy's mind. He might even need to be institutionalized if this gets any worse, before he hurts himself or someone else. I'm sure that the catastrophic reaction to the show by the audience will only quicken his very alarming obvious mental deterioration. We may be reading a shocking headline, soon. I was never a fan but for his own good there needs to plainly be an intervention. That guy is not well. Obviously. No one should take his behavior for granted. His state is plainly serious. His stories don't even make sense anymore and I feel certain discussions along these lines are happening at Disney. Someone needs to take him away for a long rest. He isn't right.

I used to shop at a local store - not every week but more than 10 times year.
3 months ago when I entered the store the owner said this store & its products are not intended for you - please don’t come back here to shop.

Im in my 60s and back in the day I had some very good friends that was gay and trust me they are not happy with what is going on at the moment so the big question is who is funding these programs? its all about tick boxes and if you tick enough you will get lots of investments to pay for your work, again who is investing so much into these programs? Follow the money. Oh I almost forgot, I was told that as a Fan I was toxic and I should not watch, so I have not seen this or the last season I prefer to dig out my old Dr Who episodes that did not make me feel bad for being who I am.

Diversity Trek, Inclusion Wars, now it’s Qu**r as Who. They had to have picked a black gay man to play the doctor strategically for the exact outcome that we’re seeing. As soon as the audience complains that they don’t want to be subjected to overboard behavior, the show makers can cry racism. Same thing happened with Jodie. Scripts were bland and preachy, show makers cried sexism.
If they had just simply paid attention to the Doctor Who fans who are actually very inclusive over the years and pay attention to the feedback they could have pulled it off . This actor got handed one of the best roles in television history and completely screwed up the opportunity. You do not insult the very people who are trying to support the work I was very supportive of a black actor having the opportunity to do Doctor Who but now I'm beginning to wonder if that was a mistake. In the rush to be so inclusive, you actually managed to insult the very people who support you need to make the show and your work successful I'm proud to be a science fiction fan who is also a person of color as well as disabled and I have been watching this series since the 80s. I have a lot of friends who are science fiction fans who are straight , gay, lesbian and all of us are confused. We want to be entertained not lectured to if you want to be lectured we will go to a classroom Doctor Who is so much more than identity politics and RTD and the writers have completely forgotten this and that's why the fan base who has been around longer than some of you have been alive are so f****** upset right now and to be honest they've got good reason to be upset

It was never like this. I began watching it religiously in 2005 after Eccleston’s pilot ‘Rose’ and I don’t remember any backlash. We had gay characters, but their entire personalities and arcs weren’t built around their sexuality or gender. Jack’s story was compelling because it was natural. Even in Torchwood and his brief romances, he was a character and a person in his own right… who happened to be gay. Interestingly, people just don’t like being told what to think or feel.
Ps I Really gave up on the Dr who when Tom Baker left the show an have witched a little of it going forward. It doesn't surprise me they can't even come up with original idea to write about for a new SHOW SAD They need HELP 😊

I am far from racist or homophobic, I just refuse to be indoctrinated and lectured to in my entertainment. I also object to a favourite show of mine being retooled to oblivion, becoming totally unrecognisable, and used as a tool to push the message. You want to push your agenda, create your own vehicle for that, not bastardise a show I have been watching from the very first episode. Dr Who used to provide me with the escapism I seek in my entertainment, now it is just crass stupidity.

He told us to "touch grass" instead of watching him. I never feel bad about skipping a show, video game or comic book with the "artists" involved tell us not to watch. Normally it is very good advice to skip it. In fact, I can't think of a time that they have ever been wrong when they tell us not to watch.

Has RTD not seen entertainment the last 30+ years? We have been exposed to queer and gay characters and we didn’t give a shit because they were characters first. They aren’t blazing any new trails. It’s a classic case of the pioneers getting the arrows and the settlers getting the land.

What made that series so revolutionary is that, in universe, what they were wasn’t a big deal, which made it a big deal out of universe and at that time. You had a command crew consisting of, among others, a Japanese man (those WWII wounds were only two decades removed), a Russian (during the height of the Cold War) and a black woman (at a very turbulent period for blacks), and it was just everyday. And they were there because of their abilities and skill set and not what color was on their skin or what hung, or didn’t hang, between their legs.

The 3rd episode is actually called ‘BOOM’ and not ‘Bomb’
RTD was slipping his 'gay agenda' into the reboot ever since the first season of the 'New Who'. The introduction of Captain Jack was only a few episodes in, and there were constant sly references - 'The Unicorn and The Wasp' was a blatant one off the top of my head - the obvious clandestine meeting of one of the victims and the servant, plus the later line of the Doctor's dialogue "Ginger beer!" which the servant reacts to (ginger beer being a UK slang term for queer). David Tennant's debut Christmas special, when he asks "Am I Ginger." Lots of little 'in jokes' through the episodes written by RTD, and it was well that he left when he did, else this recent rubbish might have come forth sooner.
I just had an epiphany, as I watched the rest of your show. If Doctor Who is being "strongly encouraged" to make content like this, it might be (and I think this is exactly what it is) that the only thing they CAN DO to get attention for the show is to blame fans, thus creating drama in the hopes that non-fans will watch "in support of the cause". Yea. I think they can only make this kind of show, or no show. So they're making this kind and blaming fans so non-fans will watch "in support". This is them trying to keep the franchise alive. REALLY REALLY DISTURBING!
If Ncuti and RTD could've kept their gobs shut, Doctor Who would have probably got more ratings. Maybe.

How many times have we seen this exact situation. Im bored of it. I only clicked this video to hear Casino talk while I clean some animal pens. The show itself is obviously ruined and I have no interest. Not just no interest in watching... no interest in it as a topic. This the last "Dr. Who" reaction vid I will click on. Over it already.
They started losing me with Missy, and it has just been down hill ever since. With bi-generation affecting all Doctors back to the beginning, I can't even watch Hartnell's Doctor without cringing, now.
I only know the Capaldi era from scenes I saw on RUclips (it got too much for me during Matt Smith’s era). But I would think that the actress of Missy had the presence to at least pull off the female Master role, which says nothing about writing or the idea itself. But it’s a difference with Gatwa as nothing I saw of his Dr Who ever gave me Dr Who vibes at all.
Give it some time, your old DVDs didn’t change and Hartnell remains as charismatic as he ever was. At some point you will rewatch those episodes and have killed any memory of Whitaker or Gatwa. They will become something else, because they don’t remind us of Dr Who anyway.

Remember when Colin Baker was the Doctor and people were not liking his portrayal of the Doctor’s personality post regeneration? People HATED how caustic the Doctor was. Gatwa’s personality isn’t a portrayal but him and that’s what drives people away. He’s not acting, he’s playing the Doctor as if Gatwa was actually a Time Lord.
Guess what... Tubi has a vast amount of Dr. Who episodes available for free with very few ads. Dr#4 is featured, but hit explore and you can watch many starting with 1963 "The Daleks" storyline. Let's get Tubi more watched than Disney+.

Why couldn't they have done a true spin-off? Keep the Tennant specials, but fix them, than when he splits have a new actor play a serious Doctor that keeps the main timeline going for the fans and the new Doctor played by Gatwa that wants to leave his past behind and start a new life. They could even change his name and give the TARDIS a new form.
The Doctor has gone back in time to resurrect fan baiting marketing from 2020, since he/she/they have aligned with Disney. The smartest man in the universe has decided to see if this time the failed strategy will work.

There is nothing wrong with objecting to changes in the race, gender, or sexual orientation of a preexisting character. People who have come to like a character want to see that specific character as they have come to know him, not a substitute or a distortion of that character.
Hi Culture, thanks for another great video! This subject is up my alley. I was introduced to the Doctor in the 70's when Tom Baker was in the role. I feel horrible for Peter Capaldi as he could have been the Tom Baker for future generations but the crappy writing and all this "woke" stuff destroyed the possibility. It's the BBC executive board that gave Russel Davies and the actors delusions of grandeur and the green light to radically change the lore. So delusional, Ncuti Gatwa believed that for every old fan who leaves the show, two or three new fans (straight out of mythology) will be taking his place.
I usually say that they can’t be that delusional. Anybody with some sense will under that switching from a general aka family audience to a niche modern audience, will reduce viewership tremendously. But then again, he is an actor and says/performs what he is told to anyway and the delusional would be RTD.
Given from what I hear from the UK, RTD may push this agenda to force the BBC to finance a third season, as RTD owns the production company and the money for new productions in the UL is gone. So trying a political approach to get financing may actually be a strategy.
Even The Time of the Rani, and the Twin Delema, they was poor stories, but they was better than this childish trash of the space Babies, and the devils chord.

I left because of the writing, I didn't go back because they retconned the Doctor's origin and have chosen not to fix that (or the writing apparently). Personally I think Ncuti could have been good if they were serious about making Dr Who again, but they weren't and it made him irrelevant... he can try to make the fans checking out about him if he wants to, but it was over before he started.
He is not a shape shifting alien, he regenerates to a never body only when he was injured, he never shape shifted, just shows Gatwa ignorence.

RTD DID write content like this before, and without many criticisms, and, in fact, quite positive feedback. People liked it and watched it. So what's changed? What's changed is THE CRITICISM OF THE FAN BASE.
So lets not confuse RTD abilities, his talents and what he has done in the past with what he's doing now. What he's doing now that's different is attacking the fan base.
