Hey guys, great video as always. Totally agree but have to add that the eagle‘s winglets are a massive disadvantage in terms of security. Sharp as hell! So for me after having cut through the wetsuit into my chest the choice was the sk8 before chopping the eagle and make it unsellable. And the sk8 is so much more playful that I never wanted to go back. Cheers!

It was very helpful video and review! I have eagle1090 and I would like to purchase the SK8 next.
I would like to know the difference between Eagle and SK8 based on weight. Thanks from Japan!

For the same weight, the SK8 is more surf orientated and the eagle has more glide. Hope that helps.

    Thanks guys
How is the Phantom-s compare to the sk8 for winging in the same sizes ? Speed, carve, acceleration, freestyle ?
They seem to have the same program...

The SK8 is a phantom-S on steroids. It’s faster, pumps better, turns better and is as forgiving. In my opinion, the SK8 is a much better foil. More versatile but still user friendly. That’s saying a lot as the Phantom-S is a very good foil.

@@hydrofoilacademy Amazing! It sounds like the perfect foil.
Thanks a lot for your answer.

Hi!! Thanks for sharing!! Just a question: which of the two foils (eagle vs. sk8) has better lower wind capability and lower stall speed? I tested the sk8 950 (jibes and tacks level) on flat water (68 kg, 5.0 Strike V2, 75 L) and was struggling to come on the foil at 12-15 knots. Probably the wrong pumping technique, but I found it a really difficult foil compared to my Phantom 1280. Maybe I should have tested the 1050. Which one would you recommend as a light wind foil: EAGLE vs. SK8? Jordan

Unfortunately we don't use F-One any more so I can't comment.

    Hi Guys
I think the most annoying thing from the F-One is that the nuts that go into the tracks on the board don't fit 99% of the boards. Plus, lining up the M6 screws to attach the base plate is a pain in the arse compared to Armstrong or Unifoil (open ends ). Also, there is no rubber on the base plate, which scratches the board over time.
Thanks for the review I do agree with the SK8 for prone

Ha ha, yes, I have to say I agree with you on this too. The screws and T nuts could be way better. That being said, I still absolutely love this foil!

Good review thanks. I've been prone foiling the 850sk8 for a while now and I'm really happy with how it performs. The issue that's bugging me a bit is the stall speed. It's a great foil if you have good wave energy and speed but I've found that pumping becomes much harder if you don't have good speed as you exit the wave or if you happen to lose speed pumping over swell lines to link up. Technique is always a factor because the foil definitely has a sweet spot. Curious though. I'm 79kg. I'm wondering if the 1050 would be a good addition to the quiver for weaker smaller swells? What weight are you? Thanks

      Hi Mate,
I hear you and completely agree. I have the 950 SK8 for proning and I find it a bit in the middle. When the waves are smaller I use the 890 eagle as it pumps much better but the SK8 950 turns so much better. If I were you I would be temped to get an Eagle 990 for the small days. You can pump that thing for days and you don't need the critical turning for waves that size. I wish I had a SK8 850/750 for the bigger days.
      Hope that helps.

Cheers! Appreciate the reply. I did wonder about the eagle. A friend of mine has the 890. I should see if I can try it out one day to feel how it compares to the sk8. Thanks

hi guys, what do you think about the unifoil progression 140 versus sk8 950 for prone surfing! I want to get one and i haven t the possibilities to try one. Actually i m in phantom 1480 and 1 year prone foiling! Thanks for your return

I think the SK8 950 is a much faster foil than the 140 and will pump better too.
