Im windfoiler but i wanna send my wife to wingfoiling lessons. Because windfoiling requires alot of expensive equipment and it takes alot of space in your car. And wingfoiling is like nothing. You can have ford ka and have 20sets of wingfoil things :D
I basically switched completely. Love the simplicity/lugging less gear/fewer choices before the session/less risk of picking the wrong board, sail, fin… Sometimes I miss windsurfing, but I never miss lugging the gear around 😂 Wingfoiling is also a lot easier to do on trips that aren’t exclusive wind sports trips.
The difference between foiling and windsurfing is foiling has more upwind capability ,lightwind capibility, and multitude of fun transitions.(high speed planeing tacks are the norm). Foiling feels like you are friction lessly streaking silently through powder snow as opposed to windsurfing, which is chattering on the water, sticking rails and stressing your ankles, etc... Once you cut the wing to one hand and start foiling down wind from swell to swell at as high a speed as you want, you'll sell your windsurf stuff.the thing that windsurfing excels at is moderate to high wind down the line or bigger surf, where the consequences of eating it on a foil rigs are too great.. Just my experience. windsurfed 15 yrs Kited 20 yrs Now foil 3 yrs
I do both. In austrian lakes (despite neusiedlersee) wingfoiling is just way more accessible. If you have big windsurf slalom gear or windfoil equip maybe you can go a little bit more often.. but wingfoiling enables me to go like in 6-8 knots. In holiday with enough and stable winds... i love windsurfing. absolute blast! Both sports are amazing.
You brought it to the point. Till today i saw just a view riders (balz included) who really are going radical on Wingfoils. As long as wind and conditions are easy it seems to make fun - but in hard conditions most wingers are lost. I tried it, but even in low winds i felt bored. Despite there´s much more equipment i will never change. Windsurfing rocks!!🤙
Because you don't need to go radical in wing, change foil with a little one can make it radical enough. Even in straight line at 25 knots I assure you it is radical.I practice windsurfing from 1989 and going straight with racing stuff bored me, than I started freestyling basic (spok flaka backloop frontloop),what makes me upset is that to mantain a certain necessary ability I need to go out frequently, in my location this isn't possible, while winging now I make at least one go at week...
I had learned and been windsurfing since 1986. I sold my equipment years ago, but I have been renting some three times in the past three months I mostly surf. I do lots of cycling and also some surf skateboarding but I love wind surfing. I might buy equipment again to get out there when it’s too windy for cycling and the surf is too choppy and garbage, windsurfing makes much more sense and utilizing the energy at hand when the the wind is much better than surfing when the winds above 20 knots that’s when I really enjoy windsurfing. It’s the best thing to do .
I'm an avid wind foiler: no wings for me, just dedicated windsurfing and windfoiling gear. I can go out in 8 knots and a 7.5 sail up to about 25 knots when a 3.4 is too much and I just put a fin in the board and windsurf the rest of the day.
I agree 110%! Windfoiling in lesser and gusty conditions is a dream! Love picking up and riding the bumps and then rocketing back upwind! Windsurfing in solid conditions is still soo much fun! Fully blasting in contact with the water. I don’t see any need for winging in my world.
in windsurfing, I love the contact of the board with the water and the sensations, waterstart is so simple and quick. But I'll try wingfoil in small wind
I have 7 sails and 3 sets of wind foil gears in my van. And I have one wing foil set too. For the entire monsoon season this year I have only been using wingfoil gears. Not that I don't like windfoiling/windsurfing anymore, it is just that setting up the rig takes way more time and effort than pushing a button on the electric pump. Simplicity really make a difference. But ya, here in singapore we consider 15 knot wind as typhoon. 40 knot wind here is the same as f5 tornado 😂😂.
Windsurfing will always be number 1! But some days I look in the garage and see SO much gear that needs to be loaded up, and instead I'll just grab my Mt. bike for a quick simple trail ride.
I am a die hard windsurfer, however Wingfoiling kicks me. So I changend my gear completely: Windsurfing with 4 sails from 4,0 to 5,5 with 2 boards (87 Wave and 95 Freewave), 1 wingboard and to wings (5,5 and 4,0). Let‘s see where I stand next year🤓😱🤣
seen from the outside, wingfoiling seems easy, like many board sports when practiced by good riders, but learning for the average person is difficult, especially in rough sea conditions like in the video, even with heavy volume the boards are small and unstable and it's difficult to find your balance even on your knees, so don't dream it's a difficult sport
For those that started and grew up on the windsurfer, I love you. The progression to planning/carving in the 80's-90's is my first love, and I still have my gear. In high winds, I'll lean into my WS gear because it's my fountain of youth; so visceral. However, the versatility of kite and wing foils reflect more for this modern world we live in. At this point we can think of the windsurfer as the muscle cars (i.e. late 1960's) of water sports, super fun but a bit of an acquired taste for the young'ns.
Sure that wingfoiling in very strong wind is not the purpose. But your comparison of wind range between wing and windsurf sails is not fair. With a 4 meters you are in the confort zone from 17-18 to 30 knots. In comparison you need a 5.0 in windsurfing. With a 5.0 in 40 knots it's also very uncomfortable. As an old ex windsurfer I move to wing for the benefit of my joints and I appreciate a lot the simplicity of the gear. I am currently preparing my trip this summer in Cabarete where wind is between 12 and 30 knots. I went there for 30 years and I had my own equipment that I bring in several trip. 2 boards : 102 and 86 liters (I am 86kg), 2 mast, 2 wish 3 sails (6.6, 5.7 and 5.2). Because of an injury on my ankle I stopped windsurfing because I can't risk to be stuck in the straps. So I moved to Wing foil 2 years ago. I will bring one board (98l), one carbone foil with 2 front wings of 1450 and 950. Two wings of 6 and 4.5. Normally I should be able to sails every days. My board bag is 22kg with some small stuff in my lugage (fuselage, screws, pump)
Im 82Kg, in one year, 90 sessions winging, 85% 6M, 10% 4.5M , 5% 3,5M , one board 90L , 2 fronts 1250 & 1050, one stab. I only need that. ex windsurfer.
Windsurfing is deeeead here in canada, and i don’t miss it that much. It s too expensive and not practical at all. You like t he speed and you don’t work that much and you re rich It s the perfect water sport. If you just want to enjoy life and the wind for a few hours , wing always win. I windsurrfed 20 years and wing for 3 years
If you traveling in van live so wing wins. Its fix easy in the trunk of the bus easy. If go to the beach always easy. You can climb you can hike its possible. After the session easy to put it back. In shore break its easy to come in and out. The material is not so expansive compare to windfoil. And i can carry a smaller Windsurfboard. Thats create fun in combination
You only gave us one advantage/ disadvantage. Never tried wind foiling, but used to live for windsurfing. Questions. Do windfoils go up wind as well? How about starting landing from a big shore break, that deep foil must make it impossible How about lulls in the wind.
I wouldn't know😢😢😢 The wind had abandoned Ireland at the minute. 10-15 cm of snow over the weekend but not a breath of wind. Please Mario, send a bit of the lovely Tenerife wind up to us in 🇮🇪
Hi Mario, nice Video and very informative. Especially for me because right now, I am also choosing between winging and windsurfing but I can't decide what I want to do. I come from laser sailing (an olympic small sailboat) and I want to do something faster but the conditions on my lake are not the best. Maybe like 10 knots averaged. So I don't know if in this conditions winging or windsurfing is cooler. What do you think?
Definitely wing. I windsurfed on lakes for years. I even had really big “lightwind” equipment. I was lucky if I was planing for five minutes out of every hour. With the foil and wing, I would be off foil for five minutes out of every hour.
One aspect is certainly also whether you prefer to be powerful and fast on the road, or rather playful in your circles. That's why I love windsurfing and windfoiling in combination. Have a Freerace/Windfoilboard (Tabou 50ie), which allows me to cover an enormous wind range in different conditions. At the same time, the equipment question really remains within the framework. Therefore, I do not understand why this concept seems to be comparatively underrepresented. I love it!✌️
Only thing I miss about windsurfing is the much greater sensation of speed skipping over the water. You just don't get the at foiling (despite being much higher up which makes the falls not dramatic!)
If you had an extra wing, maybe a 3m and another, smaller foil you would have continued to have fun. Wingfoiling gear needs to be used in range.. there is no point in having excess power. All you really need is enough to get on the foil.
You could approach a windsurf holiday in the same way though with minimal gear. If you took just one board and one sail what would it be? I find that with one slalom board, and a windfoil board, and a 5.6m sail i can now cover a huge wind range.
I'm an avid wind foiler, which is windsurfing with a foil. Have I picked the worst of both worlds? I can see the simplicity of wing foiling. The wings are so light and fold down to nothing! And there's no boom, mast, mast base, mast base extension, etc. The boards are really small too, and like you say, you only need one of them. It's probably a lot cheaper than windsurfing too. I think a decent wing foiling board is about half the price of a typical windsurfing board. And since you don't need all the other rigging gear (masts, booms, etc.) that also makes it cheaper. Wind foiling has some advantages over regular windsurfing. It can be done in very light wind using much smaller sails. The foil makes it easy to cruise through lulls, which makes sailing in gusty places like lakes more feasible. You really only need one board for all conditions, unless you're an equipment freak. You can go upwind like crazy with the foil. Wing foiling also has these advantages. It's looking like wing foiling might be beat out wind foiling, but I just love windsurfing! I bought a used wing off a friend and I've tried it a few times, but not gotten very far with it. Maybe I'll give it another try, but do I really want to climb another big learning curve with wing foiling after spending so much time (and money) learning how to wind foil? We'll see.
dont you have more topspeed windfoiling than with a wing? isnt it much easier to sail upwind, and better for going further distances with a windsurfer than a wing?
@@matthew20743 I think wind foiling is generally faster than wing foiling, if you have a good sail, are powered up, and have a small, efficient foil. It really depends on how good you are and how much you want to invest in high performance gear. As for distance, with wind foiling you're usually using a harness, and that helps keep you from getting tired going long distances. Some wing foilers use harnesses too though. Wind foiling allows you to go upwind much easier and faster than with a regular fin setup, but wingers go upwind pretty well too. It's the foil and especially the foil mast that help you go upwind.
@@dairyairman wow that seems counterintuitive to me, but all my online research I think you're right. It seems like the wing foil is the way to go. I live in a remote Southeast Alaskan Island near B.C. I never got into windsurfing because it seemed impractical way to get around if the wind dies and get stranded. I just found out about foiling from some guys from Vancouver, no one does it here. I wish I knew about it sooner, seems like a great method of transportation. Thanks for the reply and great info
@@matthew20743 Wow! It sounds like you're in a really isolated area. You could be the very first person to wing foil in that region! That's kind of cool. Here in Florida, wing foilers are thicker than flies. One thing I will caution you about the wing: it doesn't work very well if the wind dies down to a very low speed. The reason is that the wing will not fly if the wind speed is too low. You can't just hold it up in the air. Just like a kite, it needs to fly. When the wind dies, I see wingers kneel on their boards and partially drag their wings in the water to get back. I've had to do this myself and it's very tedious. Wind foiling may actually have an advantage in very light wind because unless there's a lot of current, or the wind dies down to zero, it's always possible to hold up the sail and schlog back to where you started. Also, if you've never windsurfed, or aren't already pretty good at regular windsurfing, I would not attempt to learn wind foiling. It's just too difficult to learn both windsurfing and foiling at the same time. You would most likely spend a whole bunch of money, get frustrated, and quit. However, I've seen absolute beginner wing foilers get pretty good at it in just a couple of months without any prior experience.
@@dairyairman Nice, yeah I've been reading that wing foiling isn't as difficult to learn from scratch as windfoiling. The winters in this area aren't too bad actually, that is our rainy season so It does stay pretty windy. with my dry suit riding will be no problem, it will be great to easily be able to get off this island as the only other way to get around here is by burning lots of gas on a boat, or float plane, so trying to get sailing for the practicality of it. researching the best beginner wingfoil set up now, thanks so much for your help, really appreciate you taking the time.
I surf, paddle board, and windsurf and am keen to try wing foiling. I think get it all and use what works best for the conditions. Being honest though I could float around in a big esky on the water and have a ball!!😂
windsurfing isn't a high wind sport, it depends what you like, being on the water, sailing, paddling, or sitting on your board. I respect the foiling, but the idea of windsurfing is perfect, Longboard or shortboard, choose or use was is available. Most of the windsurfing manufacturers ruined the sport. Windsurfing is not golf$.
I wingfoil 98% of the time but at 105kg i'd need massive kit to have regular fun on a windsurfer. My 110lt FSW board is now saved for 25kt+ fun. I can also windsurf foil, but the kit is so uncomfortable that i sold it. Winging is just easy to move about.
Nice, but you should have compared wingsurf vs windsurf (i.e. without the foil) to see how that compares. Hope to see you do inflatable wingsurf review since that makes traveling so much easier, probably the easy most compact way to get on the water.
Isnt it just the laxk of experience with wing foiling? You were probably 90% of your water-time on Windsurf gear and so you are 10x more experienced as with the wing. If you had the same time on the wingy those conditions would probably make a lot of fun for you instead of be overwhelming and irritating.
Could be, but the lack of the harness and the fact that you are permanently foiling are still there… simply two different types of sport. But you are right, my bias is of course towards windsurfing..😊
On the point...and that`s good cause we have more to do and can spend more time on the water. Windsurfing is a bit like a 400 ps maserati and foiling like a tesla.🤙
What you have done the most you are most adaptive with and have the best conditioning for. If all you ever did is wingfoil you would have NO issues and no back or knee issues with age due to windsurf haulage
have you ever tried winG surf? using wing but with a "common" board, to stay in touch with the water like wind surfing... you need strong winds to do that, and you have there. i guess it can be funny, but i dont have so strong winds here :(
I assumed foiling is easier in the chop than windsurfing because you are above it all? Is that not the case? Honestly not sure, haven't windsurfed in a while.
For me foiling is way harder in the chop than windsurfing. For foiling you have to keep your board above the height of the crest and the foil below the trough. Even if you do that the foil pressure is uneven through different parts of the chops and it difficult to control. You my be able to foil surf the downwind side of organized chop, but jumping off if the chop windsurfing is still more fun.
Why not the combination... windfoil? The minus is still lot's of gear and tuning options many don't seem to want to know. The plus is the range of windsurf disciplines on a foil.🙂
Windsurf is beautiful in right conditions, but theese happens frequently in few places in the world. Wing is more usable, learning curve is faster, requires less equipment, you don't need a big car(or more).
I have way more range on any given wing than I ever did on any given sail. I get 10x the sessions on my wing board than I ever did on a windsurf wave board. Flagging the wing and riding even the smallest bumps downwind on a wing setup cant be beat. Tons of wingers i know used to windsurf and kite, but i dont know anyone who has left winging for those sports.
windsurfing is super great in strong winds! waveriding, freestyling, its about sliding, carving, super fast on the water, choppy or flat water, front or backloops, these sensations are unique et makes windsurfing the best and complete sport in the world when the conditions are there and we can reach a certain level. Wing is good in optimal conditions for it, but seriously how can wing replace windsurfing just because it's better in its own conditions !?
Windsurf Always be the top Sport But if you dont have the equipment ready in the beach Is a big No So i do wingfoil and i have all the fun and no drama😊
a few loose thoughts (just my 2cts): 1. it depends on the conditions 2. your comparison is a bit flawed because of your different levels of practice: from what I see your a beginning intemediate freeride wingfoiler and an expert slalom windsurfer... so of course you're gonna miss what you're best at 3. windsurfing can be fairly compact: 1freestyle (or wave-board) and 3 sails 2 mast and a boom wil get you a long way too. 4. if you're really into winging you won't just take one wing to a spot with varying wind conditions... Cheers!
You are comparing two sports in very tough situations. Windsurfing and Wingfoiling in 30+ knots is not a beginner's playground, and in both disciplines requires advanced level. I do both and I feel still funny doing overpowered wingfoil in 30+knots in Tarifa's swell.
thank you for the analysis. 2 remarks : first your wingfoiling skills biased your fun on water, as if it would be better you'd have been less pissed off with many fallings, getting up, launching again etc... Second is that I think a wing wind range is still wider than a windsurf sail one, once again maybe depends on your wind/wing skills perhaps Lastly, windfoiling always wins in the end 😅
Haha, you are funny:-) yes when you Never Fall than you have no Problems with Winging but when you Never Fall you Don t try new thinks and in strong Wind it is much more fun in waves with the windsurf Board. Everytime there was much Wind no Wing Foiler was on the water…
man, you are an intermediate rider in wingfoiling AND windsurfing..... you can take an 750 cm2 frontwing and have fun with the 4m2 too...... racing "along"/riding "FOREWARD" is not what windsurfing is all about..... cheers!
Not the same sport. So easy it's incredible, BUT it's just not the same feeling. You may as well be playing Wii with a helmet over your head. There is NO jumping with a foil. The brand Horue has been trying for years to persuade windsurfers that jumps and back loops on a wing foil are possible but they have still to come up with ONE single video of a foil going fast enough that it atually sustains the rider's weight when he inevitably crashes back down into the water. It's a pity they insist so much - just digging their hole. LOL. Good luck with the shop.
I will never buy windsurf stuff again living landlocked. going on lakes surfing most of the time, wingfoiling is the first solution. but if i´m at the sea side with strong winds and a windsurf rental I will rent a windurf board again.
You are comparing a sport with >40 years of evolution with a relatively new sport. Give wingfoil a bit of time to evolve and I think it will definitely rule (former windsurfer, now trying to learn wingfoiling)
Windsurfing at your local spot u dont need much equipment. You need everything from one amd thats it. You making it complicated. I have a 145 board and a 7.0 sail with 1 mast and boom that goes together and covers 80% of the conditions. Plus you learn your gear better!! If you want to cover 95% of the conditions get a second sail and you good. Used to listen to your.....advice and carry 100 things but not anymore...!
How about you go one step further and accept that other people live at different places than you and have different perspectives on windsurf equipment. I do not know a single windsurfer with only one board and rigg. They all have plenty. I also do not know a single windsurfer that always goes to the same spot. I personally travel a lot, work with windsurf brands and therefore live at the other extreme than you. I think the middle is where most windsurfers are based at. However I´m happy for you that you have an easy time getting along with your gear! No need to get angry. ;-)
Stop using that seat harness. You are sailing with your back insteads of your legs. Use a waistharness on your hip with two strings between legs. Lines go straight out anyway. Hipharness. 10% more efficeint rig and board feels wider. Its like going over to a supersportscar. You will never ever go foiling again. Sorry I didnt tell you before, but well.. dont be a sheep and follow everybody else. Good luck.
Mario totally messed up the reason for foiling, it is NOT tricks and Wave RIDING, because these are minor with a foil, especially surfing. Tricks with a foil are much different and less possibillities cause the foil has a lot of swing weight, making movements more limited, look how much more sparkey windsurfing freestyle is compared to Balz Müller when he does foilstyle windsurfing freestyle, the heavy foil limits him. It´s the same with Wingfoiling, double moves are not done yet, it´s just basic single moves, mostly jumping, no sliding like windsurfing freestyle, less moves possible. In surfing it´s even worse, foils can NOT ride threw turbulent water because they lose lift, making riding within breaking part of wave IMPOSSIBLE. No foil surfer ever, even World champ John Florence or Kai Lenny, made a Off the Lip or even an floater, so how if even the best are unable to surf a wave properly could this be called "wave riding". And without attacking turbulent parts of wave it can´t even be called riding a wave - Surfing- . It´s just riding a swell, that´s pretty unthrilling. Marios point of view comes from someone who has no clue about freestyle windsurfing or wavesailing, so please don´t make any judgement about these topics.
On the contrary, wave riding is exactly where wing foiling absolutely shines, you should try it! 😉 Your personal (and very restrictive) definition of what constitutes wave riding is perfectly valid as your personal opinion, but it‘s an opinion that most don‘t share. And if you watch the videos from the latest cape verde wave comp, you can see that foiling is still progressing a lot every year. If you don’t call it waveriding what the riders showed there, then…oh well 🤷♂️
I disagree, when I wingfoil (and this is also how almost all people I know see it), the foiling in a straight line part is mostly boring. However maneuvers and jumps are very fun. It’s irrelevant to me, if there are for example double moves or not, I’m far away from that anyway. The fun of windsurfing however is mostly to go fast for me (and most others that I know).
No double moves in Wingfoil Freestyle? Sorry, but did you check what the Wingfoil-Pros are doing right now? ;-) But yes I agree, Windsurf Freestyle looks way better than Wingfoil Freestyle imho
LG Igor.
Denke nicht das das eine Rolle spielt. An Sturm Tagen waren null Winger draußen.
Hi. You are wrong. I can beat any wingfoiler with my starboard full carbon 97lt slalom board. And now that i am windfoiling those pesky wingfoilers are more behind now😂😂
Wing foiling is for those that are uneasy handling the extremes of kiteboarding, the king of the air. I think wing foiling was only brought out because the kiteboarding manufacturers needed some new “toy” to sell in an otherwise narrow market.
What are your thought on windsurfing vs wingfoiling? Let me know in the comments!😄
Im windfoiler but i wanna send my wife to wingfoiling lessons. Because windfoiling requires alot of expensive equipment and it takes alot of space in your car. And wingfoiling is like nothing. You can have ford ka and have 20sets of wingfoil things :D

🤨😂
Let the discussion begin 🤣
the feel of gliding on foil is not comparable to anything. maybe powder snowboarding but in my opinion it completely obliterates windsurfing.
Unless the wind drops ...or it's gusty ...or there's big holes
Kite foiler entered the chat 😂😂. Hold my beer.
Danke dir, freut mich!😄🤙🏽
Congrats on the new shop, looks good

In strong wind you can waterstart on the wingfoil set, you just need to have your feet in the footstraps and then pull on the wing
I only need that. ex windsurfer.
totally understand that you switched to wingfoiling. I broke my ankle and therefore go strapless on wingfoiling board. It is so easy on the joints!
What was your exact ankle injuries?
Can you do a video about what to do once you get in the footstraps windsurfing?
Yea I will do!
How about starting landing from a big shore break, that deep foil must make it impossible
How about lulls in the wind.
Going upwind is super easy - getting out in shorebreak is a Desaster..😅 lulls in the wind are fine, you can pump very nice with your legs!
Windfoiling is amazing… highly recommended
Windsurfing all the life,i love all moment on windsurfing,it is a lifestyle
Great video. I agree that windsurfing is a lot of hassle, but it's worth it. Nothing beats blasting along on the water's surface.
You can lower the pressure in the leading spar a tad too.
I like the fact that you like foils but also like fin windsurfing. Nice to see a balanced viewpoint.
I wouldn't know😢😢😢
The wind had abandoned Ireland at the minute. 10-15 cm of snow over the weekend but not a breath of wind. Please Mario, send a bit of the lovely Tenerife wind up to us in 🇮🇪
We are talking about windsurfing vs wing foiling.....but what about Wind Foiling?
like up in the air?
Maybe use the wing with fins on higher winds ?
There is some videos out there with twin-tip kite boards and a wing at >40kn. Looks rather funny xD
Maybe a good idea for another video 🤣
I completely agree with your objective result: 1 - 1.
No doubt about it..... you want wingfoiling in those light conditions.
I love it!✌️
Beides ist nice! I like both. Für tricks and jumping...wininging and for speed and racing windsurfing!
Hi, really cool and informative video. what are your thoughts on kite surfing then?
I am trying to wind foil in all conditions. Having success so far! 4.5-7.5 sails.
Good idea!!
I’ll do such a video, good idea to round up the topic!
Balanced, honest and realistic. Thanks!
What you have done the most you are most adaptive with and have the best conditioning for.
If all you ever did is wingfoil you would have NO issues and no back or knee issues with age due to windsurf haulage
My longtime windsurfing buddy just changed over fully to Winging.
have you ever tried winG surf? using wing but with a "common" board, to stay in touch with the water like wind surfing... you need strong winds to do that, and you have there.
i guess it can be funny, but i dont have so strong winds here :(
Very difficult to stay upwind with a wing on a standard windsurf board.
@@mbyrnes3346 Yeah hard to beat a good jump!
I have windsurfed for 32 years, and wind foiled for the last few years.
Why did you not go with rental equipment? I hope they have some nice stuff in el medano?
He dit but it was Berry pricy
I have way more range on any given wing than I ever did on any given sail. I get 10x the sessions on my wing board than I ever did on a windsurf wave board. Flagging the wing and riding even the smallest bumps downwind on a wing setup cant be beat. Tons of wingers i know used to windsurf and kite, but i dont know anyone who has left winging for those sports.
Take Christopher with you next time! ❤❤❤
windsurfing is super great in strong winds! waveriding, freestyling, its about sliding, carving, super fast on the water, choppy or flat water, front or backloops, these sensations are unique et makes windsurfing the best and complete sport in the world when the conditions are there and we can reach a certain level. Wing is good in optimal conditions for it, but seriously how can wing replace windsurfing just because it's better in its own conditions !?
Windsurf Always be the top Sport
But if you dont have the equipment ready in the beach Is a big No
So i do wingfoil and i have all the fun and no drama😊
Get a long mast and small wing for your wing-foil.
Nice, but uff no helmet and no impact vest, those foils are sharp and nasty. Stay safe 😮
a few loose thoughts (just my 2cts): 1. it depends on the conditions 2. your comparison is a bit flawed because of your different levels of practice: from what I see your a beginning intemediate freeride wingfoiler and an expert slalom windsurfer... so of course you're gonna miss what you're best at 3. windsurfing can be fairly compact: 1freestyle (or wave-board) and 3 sails 2 mast and a boom wil get you a long way too. 4. if you're really into winging you won't just take one wing to a spot with varying wind conditions...
Cheers!
Lucky enough i dont have money and motivation to buy windfoil stuff. So i have to windsurf...😂
If the money is sufficient to go windsurfing, it’s all good!😄
You are comparing two sports in very tough situations. Windsurfing and Wingfoiling in 30+ knots is not a beginner's playground, and in both disciplines requires advanced level. I do both and I feel still funny doing overpowered wingfoil in 30+knots in Tarifa's swell.
True! But believe me, Tarifa swell is so much more relaxed then the horror chop in El Medano...🤣
I am oldschool and i like windsurfing
Fair enough!
There is no choice. 😉Only windsurfing is the true fun. 👍
Aaah I don’t know 🤣
Strong wind => windsurfing Light wind => do something else.
Philipp, ich gebe dir eine Nuss! (8 oder 6 mm?) :)))
Nothing to think about, windfoil 😉
I want to make one that can fit in hand luggage. anyone want one?
thank you for the analysis. 2 remarks : first your wingfoiling skills biased your fun on water, as if it would be better you'd have been less pissed off with many fallings, getting up, launching again etc...
Second is that I think a wing wind range is still wider than a windsurf sail one, once again maybe depends on your wind/wing skills perhaps
Lastly, windfoiling always wins in the end 😅
Haha, you are funny:-) yes when you Never Fall than you have no Problems with Winging but when you Never Fall you Don t try new thinks and in strong Wind it is much more fun in waves with the windsurf Board. Everytime there was much Wind no Wing Foiler was on the water…
Ever heard of kitesurfing? 😊
man, you are an intermediate rider in wingfoiling AND windsurfing..... you can take an 750 cm2 frontwing and have fun with the 4m2 too...... racing "along"/riding "FOREWARD" is not what windsurfing is all about..... cheers!
Ja das ist ganz klar Windsurfen
Not the same sport. So easy it's incredible, BUT it's just not the same feeling.
You may as well be playing Wii with a helmet over your head.
There is NO jumping with a foil. The brand Horue has been trying for years to persuade windsurfers that jumps and back loops on a wing foil are possible but they have still to come up with ONE single video of a foil going fast enough that it atually sustains the rider's weight when he inevitably crashes back down into the water. It's a pity they insist so much - just digging their hole. LOL.
Good luck with the shop.
🎉🎉
I will never buy windsurf stuff again living landlocked. going on lakes surfing most of the time, wingfoiling is the first solution. but if i´m at the sea side with strong winds and a windsurf rental I will rent a windurf board again.
Kite foiling wins ❤
You are comparing a sport with >40 years of evolution with a relatively new sport. Give wingfoil a bit of time to evolve and I think it will definitely rule (former windsurfer, now trying to learn wingfoiling)
I agree, just talking about status quo. Through these comparisons innovation gets pushed..😊🤙🏽
Who said I thought it was simple?
windsurf only 4.7 and down. The rest wingfoil :)
An Sturm Tagen waren null Winger draußen.
windsurfing is for old ppl
sorry but windsurfing is old fashioned.. but yes its many fun also.. why make a problem with this?
Why do you think there is a problem?😄
@@MarioKuempel It hurts me if a somebody speaks in aspects not good about my new sport. ..puuuuh i am still to sensitive for this world...😅
What's that? A lot of useless talking without going to the point, and a lot of advertising for his windsurfing shop...
What would be a better way to make a video like this?
